Those anglophones who NEVER get to hear english spoken except when spoken with their accent, are the ones most likely to gripe about accent! In America, we even tease each other over regional accents, and find it difficult to understand even a native speaker, if they have a strong accent!

    • FYI “as a French” n’est pas correct, c’est “as a Frenchman / Frenchwoman / French person”, ou bien “being French myself”. “French” comme nom faisant référence aux Français n’est utilisable que collectivement : “the French” pour « les Français » (tous).

Apart from DSK who is finished and the already mentioned Macron, you have: - Christine Lagarde, head of the IMF and former finance minister. - Pierre Moscovici, European Commissioner and former finance minister. - Laurent Fabius, former prime minister and foreign minister. - Alain Juppe, former prime minister and foreign minister. - Dominique de Villepin: former prime minister and UN ambassador. - Fleur Pellerin: former culture minister. - Segolene Royal: Environment minister and former presidential candidate. - Daniel Cohn Bendit: Franco-German politician from the Greens. • lots of people do not pronouce 'w'. It's no-one's fault. When Irish people changed from The Irish Language to English, we did not bring the 'w' sound, over. Irish Country people will pronounce ve-eh ic'le - vehicle. London people do not pronounce 'h'? A Irish priest says 'Sore' instead of 'sower/ or 'sewer' of crops.
