  • I feel so sorry for Naomi, she really didn't deserve to be be booed at, she played an amazing game. Her win was ruined by Serena's childish behavior.

    • I love Serena, had a crush on her as a kid and have followed her around the world to watch her play... after this I was done... not because of the outbursts, and not because she forced the ref to take a point so that she could have an excuse for losing and then added drama to diminish Osaka's win to keep her from having a mental advantage on her if they played again. But because she abused the sexism card which discredits real women's causes.

    • What u just said doesnt make any sense Her argument is that when a player brakes a rule, or gets angry, the female players get punished worse than the male players. She wasnt even talking about osaka. In fact, she was just saying that any female tennis player would get worse treatment for breaking the rules than the man. Osaka has nothing to do with it. Serena was talking generally about femalw tennis players and male ones

    • panda panther that umpire has a history of being very strict on all players, not just women. People should have done more research before pulling the sexist card. Coaching is illegal, breaking a racket is illegal, Serena is just another tennis player to that umpire. Sex is irrelevant.

    • The umpire's intention to call CHEATING on someone who merely looked up in the direction of her coach was serious horseshit. Miss Williams was within the boundaries of logic and reason to protest that seemingly VICIOUS and conspiratorial call. Known as the "come back queen", I strongly believe that she would have done what she always did, won that final and add another grand slam to her accolade. What I blamed her for was the fact that she allowed herself to explode...rather than calming down and do what she should have done strategically to win. There were always those creatures like YOU who did not want Miss Williams who helped turn TENNIS into a thing of wonder to triumph on a continuum.

  • About the third violation, he says the umpire would've asked a man to calm down and gave Serena a game penalty directly. Not true. It went on for quite a while. She was continuously shouting at him. Then she said, "Don't talk to me". The umpire obliged and turned back. Then she kept calling him a liar. She finally got a game penalty when she called him a thief. He gave her enough chances to calm down. She didn't. He gave her what she deserved.

It doesn't matter that Loretta Lynch was passing on to Bill Clinton-on the tarmac of airports, no less!!!-everything the FBI learned about Trump's strategies. It doesn't matter that Serena's own coach admitted that he was coaching her during the match. Hitlery and Serena were both just supposed to win and it's the judges' fault that they didn't win. • Alnoor Gilani: Serena's coach admitted it. he said, " I will not lie. I was coaching..." (see time index 4:35) Also, Serena lied to the Referee when she said, "He [her coach] was only giving her the thumbs up sign." Meaning she was looking at him when he was coaching as he admitted to reporters after the game. Plus there is video of him doing it.

      @c20995@c209955 жыл бұрын
    • Agree with most of what is said. I still don't like implying that coaching is cheating though. Granted I've never played sports on a professional level but coaching happens. In all the major sports coaches are calling out plays or giving signals from the sidelines. I don't see why tennis should be excluded from this. I guess under the current format it's technically 'cheating' but if something good can come from what happened in this U.S. Open women's final, I hope it's that maybe the WTA, and even the ATP, Tours re-examine this rule.

      @NYYanks2003040506@NYYanks20030405065 жыл бұрын
    • NYYanks: I hope the WTA or the ATP do not re-examine the no coaching rule, simply because Serena Williams does not want to follow it and got caught. All these years she said nothing about it, but only when caught and lost the US Open is it a problem. If some no-name player was caught and lost to Serena because of it, would anyone care about changing the rule or would people be calling that person "someone who needed to cheat to beat the great Serena Williams."

      @c20995@c209955 жыл бұрын
    • Well, I'm not saying they should change it simply for Serena Williams. I've not been a fan of the rule for a while. Like I said, in the major professional sports there's all sorts of coaching going on. I don't really see why there shouldn't be in tennis. If a coach picks up on something and can help his/her player during a match, that's not really a bad thing. And even if a coach gives a signal or whatever, the player still has to execute.

Men and Women don't play against each other so their is no bias. If there was men vs women and they only gave penalties to the woman then that's sexist, but it is a woman vs woman, man vs man game so the two opponents get no bias. Whenever something happens to them they say stuff like "this (purely innocent bystander of a) man didn't have this happen to him you must be sexist" which is plain dumb. They deny all men of the right to have problems and when men discuss these problems they raid them. They also file false rape accusation for men staring at them, putting a stain on their resume, thus ruining their lives and all they think about is themselves. I also hate how they focus on tiny problems like their recent "hey guys is sexist" instead of focusing on other problem such as women having their clitoris cut or women not being allowed to show their face. I am not for feminism, I am only for equality. I live in a country which is one of the most pro gender equality country in the world but we were never pro women, we see them as equals and women also see us as equals, but in the western world it is just f@cked up. The young woman made history, played like an absolute beast and defeated one of the greatest athletes of our time but all anyone cares about is wether Serena was right or wrong (she was wrong in my opinion). We should be more focused on praising Osaka’s achievements.

  • Lmao at Serena playing the sexist card. Sure there have been male tennis players that got away with a lot worse but with other umpires, not this one. The thing is that Carlos Ramos is one of the strictest umpires working right now. He plays by the rules. This dude slapped violations to Nadal's ass just because he took a bit too long between sets and Nadal got pissed and even criticized him after the game. This umpire doesn't discriminate. He always plays by the rules.
