Rs 200 is my definite favourite followed by the 205 but the Audi has the best and most recognisable engine sound ever.

Heard that Peugeot 205 t16 a number of times and it just doesn't sound right at all. The rest, however, sound as they did back in the day. Amazing.

Yes James, you're right. I'm not sure but i think that the 2 exemplar in the video are ex-road car converted into rally spec. I don't know if there are still some ex official car running (maybe 1 or 2). The rest of the cars are in museums or private collections

I like these drivers because even though we have very high quality cars, they don't spare them. And the result shows! Fantastic! 😍
Love the whistling of the Audi, but you can see it struggling with understeer, I love the S4, the Metro and the 205 even more!

Always hoped they would bring the Group B back. 2 fast they said, i think it was more like bad crowd security, there was too many people on the race line, taking photos, used to see the cars bumping into spectators. 💀 👻 💀
Wow. Brilliant video. Brings back good memories of seeing these beasts being driving back then, no electronic aids like today, just drivers with lots of skill and big balls back then to handle that power. The Audi sounded awesome.
You know why most historic rallies are run on tarmac because modern drivers cant handle these on dirt and would lead to really big death count.

@@edgarbritz1663 y te soltaban la potencia de el turbo de golpe 1980, Audi Quattro 40 años de una tracción revolucionaria, después Lancia saco el compresor volumétrico, en el 037, y en el Delta integrale. Debería volver el grupo B, en manos de pilotos cualificados eran un espectáculo verlos y toda una experiencia única el conducirlos, Walter Rohrl Audi Quatto spot S1 grupo B 1985-1986. Uno de los maestros.
@@fernandoterleirobeiro7403 el 037 aún traía la tracción trasera si lo recuerdo aún así creo que gano campeonatos pero si hablamos de serie b ese coupe modificado y afinado sento las bases de tracción a cuatro ruedas que nunca se irá lo digo porque es la verdad. Si yo también desearía volver a ver estos monstruos en los rallys sería una locura.
@@fernandoterleirobeiro7403 No entiendo lo de lancia de pasar a ser una de las marcas mas importantes en el rally desaparecio de la nada y me apena que un grande se haya ido así porque no se lo merece. Es la marca con mas victorias en el rally 😪

Everyone's talking about the Audi or the Lancia (which are amazing, don't get me wrong), but nobody's talking about the Peugeot 205. That thing is straight up a flamethrower man, and the sound is an eargasm! You can't ignore how it looks, also, because it's amazing!
And won in 85 and 86 if i remember correctly.

Living legends so sweet are the cars
Note that all these cars are different, their shape, engine, drive terrain, engine lay out, SOUND etc... all different and unique in their own way and that's what made them so special and fun to watch even after 35 years, now all rally cars looks same, sounds same just different details hardly recognisable by the audience so in my opinion modern rally cars are nowhere near special and exciting as these old legends.

Gee it would have been great if these cars had been allowed to continue their evolution. The Ford RS200 in particular never reached its potential, had that car been able to get fully sorted out it would have been a front line contender for sure. Although, the Peugeot 205T16 was the perfect rally machine, I reckon the only real competition it may have had was the Audi RS002, which of course never saw competition once the category was cancelled. That thing was a proper weapon. Had it been fully developed and competed as a factory backed car it would have been unbeatable. We'll never know now. Sigh.

Serious question. Are these cares considered obsolete or are they still pushing the standard for Rally?
Today's rally only allows up to 380 hp these cars had more than 500 hp or even more the wrc has nothing to do with group b they were other times. Also in those times everything was more mechanical almost no electronics and you had to have enormous skill and ability so that the car would not take a toll on you and you would cause an accident. And if there were many accidents in that time, more for the safety that was scarce for the runners and the fans.

Delta S4 has to be the best rally car ever made. With the Quattro S1 and Colin's 555 Impreza close behind.
I am not so shure, I think the 037 was too bonkers and a total drivers car, I cant decide between the 2 Lancias!
One was better but it's came to late . This car com's from Zuffenhausen ( Stuttgart) They cal it 959 S . In this time the best modern sport car in the world . And the fastet . Winner of Paris Dakhar . a sport car in the dessert , and winn ? Two years in a line . PORSCHE the name of the future .

Ja das ist schon was anderes als Lancia delta , oder ? Audi durfte nur auf 3 Zylindern fahren damit die anderen eine Chance hatten . (Die haben sogar auf 2 Zylinder gewonnen . ) Spass beiseite, auch der Intergrale war ein geiles Auto . (Für Italiener) 👍🤣🏁
