  • I've always had very weak nails that consistently peel and break. I'm not a fan of gels and acrylics. I prefer my natural nails, I've seen a massive improvement in my nails from following the watching this channel and following the tips provided. Plus I find your guys so entertaining! Thank you for helping me turn my nail health around. :)

  • I am absolutely thrilled to see you trying out a glass file! I'm a huge fan of my new Germanikure moon shaped file and the Germanikure detail file with the pencil-like point. The moon file has a concave inner groove that allows me to file along the sides of each nail and smooths the skin along the nails. Also the moon file helps me achieve a perfect curve to the free edge. I've noticed I have far less chipping and peeling of my nails using such fine grit glass files. Since they're glass I have to take extra special care not to chip the glass tools, but Gernamikure include suede cases to keep tools clean and safe between uses. Amazon has a Germanikure store and it's easy to order their products for Prime shipping in the US. Also, I just placed my first order with Dazzle Dry to continue my nail care into 2022. I saved a bunch of money using your affiliate code too! Thank you for all the inspiration, education, and entertainment Anna and MSL!

    • Thank you so much Suzanne for suggesting the glass files. I found a company here in EU, in Czech Republic that makes these files (Mont Bleu). They seem very similar to Germanicure. I ordered few files to try and I think I will order Germanicure kit from USA as well and I will compare them. Thank you for sending me all the info about Germanicure and your detailed description of the files. Very helpful!

  • I'm envious of that file, looks so easy to use minus the pointy end. I got a cheap glass one from Amazon, I want to say five years ago now, and I am a convert. It is so much easier and quicker to file nails, even though it is the thicker and harder to use version you mentioned

  • TFS! I've been looking at Germanikure for a while and really want to order. They're pricey but seem totally worth it for professional use. They also have glass cuticle sticks which are supposed to be amazing. Before and after pics are great. Besides the obvious cuticles, there's a noticeable difference in nail bed color, texture, length and even width!

    @karencarlos3942@karencarlos39422 жыл бұрын
    • Hi Karen! I will be ordering the sticks from Mont Bleu as well, they have the same style. You know how I'm a firm believer of gentle manicures, so I would be a little afraid of changes in the color of the nail plate. That cannot be changed and shouldn't be changed. Darker shade (more pink) of the nail plate suggests thinning of the nail plate. PS. You cannot change the color of the nail bed, that's the part that is underneath the nail plate. The texture of the nails also shouldn't change. Unless there is a damage that is growing out. Length of the nail bed changes when polish is worn usually and has nothing to do with the cuticle removal and skin care. Not trying to be negative but some companies go too far with marketing.... ;)

  • I love how healthy and natural this looks! You have the most knowledge I have seen when it comes to natural nails on KZhead. I have always had very thin, soft peeling nails that are dry and are pretty much impossible to grow past my fingertip. They seem to peel worse when I wear nail polish. What do you suggest I do?

    @lu4632@lu46322 жыл бұрын
    • Hi Lu! Thank you so much for your compliments! Could you send me a picture of your nails? thesalonlife[at]gmail[dot]com I agree, I have seen nail polish making the nails worse for some people. Very sad indeed. Maybe something like Mavala would help? Are you in USA? Here is a link. amzn.to/329ES4D This product contains Dimethyl Urea which is a nice hardener. It bonds the layers of the nails together by cross linking it. This can be used once a week or so... It's just a liquid, not a nail polish. Then you could use CND Rescue RXx amzn.to/3rv9CFB It feels like an very light oil and it has ingredients that help to bond the top layers of the nail together. Another thing that one of our viewers had good results with was Kerasal Multi-Purpose Nail Repair, Nail Solution for Discolored and Damaged Nails amzn.to/3KleLZH Of course I would recommend nail oil as well after each time you wash your hands. Staying away from harsh detergents and soaking your hands in water. Quick wash with lukewarm water and gentle cleanser instead. I would be able to tell you more when I see your pictures. Also, obviously nothing replaces good diet and health in general. Diet rich in protein seems to be helpful when it comes to skin, nails and anti-aging in general.

  • Great job once again! Love watch you work 😊 You say you don’t recommend buffing. Can buffing the tip of your nail help stop/lessen already pealing nails?

    @micha7895@micha78952 жыл бұрын
    • Hi Micha! Buffing the ends will smooth them out but it will not fix or help peeling nails. Peeling ends of the nails suggest damaged surface or when nails are soft- a weak bond between layers of the nails (in that case nail hardener with Dimethyl Urea would be a great idea. It permanently cross links the nail plate)

It's too thick so I couldn't get under the tips of my nails to get rid of the skirt after filing. I also had issues with trying to get the sides of the nail as well as the dried/hard skin. Does yours have a thinner, beveled edge to it? I see how you did the sides, I'll try again. So what's the name of this glass nail file from here that you want? :) I love the finished nails. I may have to cheat on ORLY and buy a bottle of this stuff. Happy Friday :o) - Laurent
