The jojoba bulk is for the hot oil baths but do you also recommend that as the cuticle oil or do you have one you recommend
Yes, use the same thing :) Its awesome. You can always use some sunflower oil or avocado, or grapeseed. Drop of vit E would be good too.
@@TheSalonLife thank you! Will buy right now hehe
The link for kerasal is for foot crème is that correct ?
@@kittydoomen5522 it is correct, you can see it at 1:22
I can confirm these are my nails in the before and after lol! Anna is a lifesaver!
How blessed are you ❤
Ngl, I'm insanely jealous of how long your nail beds are. Lucky.
I spent HOURS searching for something helpful, because my nails are exactly like this. But I lost hope. Then I stopped looking, and this video pops up 👁️👄👁️ THANK YOU 😩🙏
I have looked online for YEARS for examples of what my cuticles look like and never found the exact issue. I am just so happy to see this video. Those before and after photos are exactly what I have dealt with my whole life. Cuticle cream, oil, this and that never worked. I am going to try this. Thank you so much!
I have been cutting my "living skin" 1-2x a week for the past 25 years! To say I'm tired of doing it is an understatement. I'm glad I found your videos. I am getting the Kerasal, the nail sticks and the Glove in a Bottle now. Wish me luck!
Hi! It's been a week since I last cut my "living skin". Getting out of the shower today, they are so thick are hard. How do I keep from cutting? I want to break this cycle so bad but I'm having a hard time seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. I've been using the Kerasal for the past 3 nights and I use oil throughout the day. Can provide pictures if needed. Thanks!
Hello Autumn, it just takes time. 3 days doesn't make a difference yet. Think about going to the gym, you won't see a difference in 3 days. Skin needs to heal and repair and that takes more than 3 days... I would say 2 weeks and you start seeing a difference. How long have you been cutting that skin? 25 years right? It won't improve in 3 days after 35 years of cutting it. Whenever the skin bugs you just apply tiny bit of oil :) It WILL improve, I promise. Please send pictures to thesalonlife(at)gmail(dot)com.
@@AutumnMyer Hey lovely, can we have an update please? :-)
I 'm so glad you're showing short nails too Anna. I don't want mine particularly long, just healthy and a nice shape. I've been following you since August and am impressed with how much better my nails are looking. I look forward to doing my nails. I treat it as ' me time' . I've just ordered some oil in a bigger bottle to do the warm oil soaks, as my hands are suffering now the weather is colder. Thank you for your inspiration. Happy Christmas 🎄
I have the exact same problem with my nails as the woman in your video. Your video was very helpful! You have a wonderful, clear way of explaining how to solve nail problems. Thank you!
Ooh, I‘m so going to try this 😮My grandma used to cut the dry skin around my nails when I was a child and it‘s been overgrowing ever since. I got one of those clippers a few years back and thought that was the solution. People always said, you can‘t reverse this „condition“. Wish me luck for better skin around my nails by 2023 🎉
It’s most definitely reversible:). I’m one of the examples. :)
Yes, I have the exact same problem and have never been told I can resolve it. My skin grows up VERY fast. Kersal did nothing on my feet, so I still have half a tube. Maybe it'll work on the thinner skin on my fingers. Look forward to trying this. I also have extremely dry hands. Doctors always comment on them. I just give up. It's exhausting having to soak them in oil in rubber gloves every night.
Are they better now?
Omg I thought everyone had this problem! I can't believe there's a way to make it go away. So glad I found this video.
Amazing transformation! So happy for this viewer! ❤️
The difference is stunning! You did such a great job guiding her!!
Excellent! Just what I needed. Thank-you for explaining everything so clearly.
Thank you so much! I needed this! My nails have been like this for a little while and i wasn’t sure what to do
Thank you! I was pushing back my PNF too much, then not knowing what to do about the flappy skin. This helps me realize to be gentle and trust the process.
I cannot wait to try the kerasal- it does wonders on my dry skin on my feet and makes them super soft.
These tips really helped me out. Thank you for sharing!
Your videos are my nail savior! Finally nails that look like mine and what I can do about it! 😭😭♥️
I NEEDED this!!!!! Thank you so much! 😭🥰💖
Thank you. This was really helpful
As a nail tech, I go to Lori Halloway for pedicure advice for complex clients and you will be my source for helping people with hand issues! I want to focus on restoring health to the nails and skin rather than just quick cosmetic fixes that do more harm than good in the long run.
Thank you I find your videos really helpful 🙏🏻❤️
The most effective for me for the moment...Thank you again
This is exactly the video I’ve needed but never looked for! I have so many of the issues addressed. I happen to have the Kerasal ointment so I will definitely. Using it tonight. Thank you!
I’ve been nudging back the PNF daily for about 2 weeks now and I’m loving how it looks so far. It looks like I have longer nail beds now😅
My nails do this a lot. This is very helpful!
I love this video so much ! you're so helpful thank you. I am going to try and be constant with this method here. :)
You are brilliant! I've been searching online for answers to my nail problems for years and I am so happy to finally find you. I've been watching your videos and now I know how to get rid of that skin stuck to my nails, as well as treat my splitting, peeling nails. Thank you!
You are so brilliant x
Very informative and thanks for sharing. Read the linked article and now understand how my nails should be manicured.💅🏾❤️💚🙋🏾♀️
Thank you!!! We have a lot clients with cuticles like the ones in this video
I'm so grateful for your content! I finally understand what is up with my nails and how to manage them. I started doing what you suggested here and my hands for the first time in forever look nice! I still need to work on my skin picking havit but now there's so much less broken skin that it already helps a lot. Thank you!
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! My hands/nails look exactly like that… well a little darker…but exactly like that. Pretty nails here I come🥰.
Most useful video I was able to find on cuticle care and the dry skin around the nail, and working on natural nails, thank you! There are still so many who cut the cuticle, which I learned long ago is a no-no.
This is amazing! Thank you, I am absolutely binging a heap of your videos and they've helped me learn SO MUCH about nail care and polish!
i have got skin pealing from the side of my nail and it is going a near the bottom if i pull it the bottom will come of
Thank u. My nails look tge best they ever looked with this care.
I am SO glad I found your video and page!!! I’ve been doing my cuticles and nails all wrong, no wonder I do not see any improvement. Buying all your recommendations and cannot wait to see the results in several weeks!! Thank you!!!
I have this same issue and I've never seen anyone talk about it until this video. So happy I stumbled upon you! I spilt my time between homesteading and doing hair, so my hands can get wild. Thought I was doing everything I could to help them. I would NEVER thought to use keresal. Just started last night and can't wait to the improvement. Thank you!
Wow! Thank you so much. I watched this video and turned my nails around in one day! I was afraid to go to salon because they always cut the fold and then the painful stripping starts. Going to get some kerasal today! Thanks so much!
And it works, I have the same problem when I started last year doing my own nails. Used cuticle oil every time I washed my nails, and 3 times when I ate my main meals, morning, lunch and dinner. Now I don't have to use that much force to push back the cuticles. I also just do a full manicure on my nails one every 3 weeks so they don't get overworked
This is so helpful, thank you! 😊 This is exactly the problem I’ve always had and I’ve never known how to deal with it. So helpful, thank you again 😊
Thank you! I’m struggling with all of this.
love the video Anna, thank you for your great advice, I am gonna send you further progress pics! Francesca xx
Wow! These photos are impressive! I have dealt with live skin sticking for my entire life. I have never been one to want long nails, or use colored nail polish. But having that sticking skin made my already stubby looking nails look even stubbier. I just recently discovered your videos, and have started the process of looking after my skin in the last 1.5 weeks. I also purchased Essie hard to resist. I am already seeing progress, and can't wait for another 3 weeks to pass. It has been tempting to cut, but resisting this temptation. Thank you so much for your education, and wonderful Videos....from Canada!
Thank you so much for all the information, particularly the short video when you demonstrate the use of oil and kerasel at night!
You are so welcome! 🤗
Thanks again Anna ❤ (and MSL!)
Thank you so much for your videos. This is the first one that has actually given me useful information!
Glad it was helpful!
After following you guidance on glass cuticle pusher, I can safely say my cuticles and PNF are in their best shape 💕 admittedly I sometimes skip softener and kinda just gently dry file the cuticles, but that also works for me, and my polishes aren’t lifting from the cuticles after showers anymore.. in fact, they remain PERFECT for over a whole week without any lifting until the nail growth at the cuticles bother me enough to take them off ❤
I learned so much from this! Thank you!
Thank you Claudine!
In Australia I use Eulactol cream with 25% Urea - great for nails & heels. Thanks for another great video.
I have been enjoying your videos. You are a good teacher for me. I can understand and get the cause and the why. You take these steps. Very teachable. Thank you Susan 🦋
Thank you so much Susan!
Life changing. Thank you for the amazing channel and your great way of presenting the material as if we're just in the shop having a conversation! Her elogated nail bed is a huge deal!
Thank you kindly!!
Super! Just what I needed. One can tell easily it is the same Hand, by locking at the lines on the Fingers. Thank you for your Video!
Thank you so much. This is my problem too.
I love kerosal!!
Again! A wonderful video that give me some great talking points with my clients with stubborn and thick pnf! Thank you! I’m going to look for Kerasal to recommend for my clients as well!
Send them this video :). Such a simple solution! Anyone can do it:)
Thank you! So informative!
Thank you June!! ❤️
Wow wow wow!! I just found your channel and I’ve already learned SO much!! Thank you for this video and all of the links etc! I was getting ready to leave this same question bc I too suffer from really dry skin around my nails. I’ve always wanted this removed when I get my nails done but it’s a vicious cycle bc it then seems to grow more. My job is very hard on my hands and nails and I really think this is going to help me SO much!!! Thanks again!
Thank you, Anna! This is very helpful information. I have been using organic jojoba oil and really like it’s absorption properties ( not as greasy, soaks in nicely)🌸V
How pretty are her nails now! This gave me hope lol
Thanks for this! I knew that Kerasal was great for dry feet but it never occurred to me to use it on my nasty cuticles. Can’t want to try! 😀🙏🏼
Great video! So helpful and gives me hope for my own Cracking/dry cuticles! ❤
The cracking and dry is not a cuticle though. It’s a skin around the nails. I explain it all in detail in this video How to start taking care of your nails kzhead.info/channel/PLnP7qaKYlbX5R549SguUizXDGmslD0C4d.html
It works like a charm!! I struggled with such skin around my nails for many years and this made a miracle after several days! The two photos are like my nails before and after.
I also started to clean my cuticules more regularly. I think this also help to prevent the sticking skin around the nails and making this skin "thinner". Now it looks like it is cut, but it is not! :)
I've been following you on Instagram for awhile and tonight is the first time I found you on KZhead, so ya, you have a new subscriber😉 I'm a home hard-gel user and so far that's the only way my nails have ever grown. Your video helping the woman with side breakage sounds most like me! I'm considering going back to short natural nails so we'll see. On Instagram I comment as Katie crazy nails.
This is very helpful! Thanks!
Thank you Robin!
Very helpful. Thank you. I get those really rough parts (the ‘corners’ of my nails) in winter. Nothing has worked for me and I end up getting painful cracks every winter. It’s summer here, so I have plenty of time to get some Kerasol.
I developed problems like this due to chronic nail biting and I haven't been able to find any way to help my nails on my own. I definitely found some tips that I'll try from this video! Thanks!
Good luck!! It can be done!!
100% agree with this method, a few seconds everyday and hydrated and the skin will remain soft and elastic! I do it after each hand wash and sometime just use my own fingers to push away the skin and it works perfect too, I often do it after or during the shower 👍🏼
Great, great advices. I love how you see the problems of handworkers. Thank you for sharing this helpful information with us dear. 👍😘
Glad it was helpful Ursula! Thank you for writing! ❤️
Great video!
Beautiful transformation! -Jenny
Amazing!!!
Wow! What a transformation! I live by cuticule oil!
Hi Elizabeth. Oil is great at maintaining and protecting good skin but in case of hard and stuck skin like this Kerasal is way more effective. I also like to call it "skin and nail oil" because we remove the cuticle during manicure. We care for the skin around the nails and the nails :)
Thank you so much for this video! My skin around my nails are completely irregular, it's annoying me so much! I'm gonna start doing what you recommended. 🙏🏻
Hi Cassia! Sometimes irregular is normal. If it's stretched then this method will help :)
Thank you for sharing! I have this issue and now I can properly correct it! Stay tuned for results!❤
Please take photos!!!
I never thought to use something like Kerasal!
Thank you
Thank you for this video! I have always had this problem with stubborn PNF (and very short nails in general) and never knew what to do with them. I'm excited to try this out
If the skin is hard and very stuck then use Kerasal first for 2-3 weeks until the skin softens. Then start nudging. :)
@@TheSalonLife Thank you for the tip! I just bought Kerasal
@@TheSalonLife Are there any Kerasal alternatives for us who can't buy it? Because of shipping, tax, etc.
Not sure, it's best to go to pharmacy and ask for something with similar ingredients.
I’m so happy I found your videos. I started cutting my PNF and the rough skin around my nails, and it’s been a nightmare ever since. (Also I have been using gel and dip powder which I’m sure contributes to my issues) but I used to never do that and my nails were always so much more healthy. Going back to a more gentle, conservative approach and following your advice!
Thank you so much Anna for all your advice. you're the fairy god mother of nails 😘
Awwww... thank you ! 🤗
Starting this today. Amazon didn't have the ointment you recommended so I went with Flexitol Heel Balm instead. Looking forward to seeing the results because my nails are incredibly similar to this lady.
Please take pictures and I'm very curious about your experience with the Flexitol Heel Balm!
I'm surprised -- I've been buying Kerasal from Amazon for some time now. I believe Walgreens sells it as well.
Thank you so much for your advice - I have always had stretched proximal nail folds for as long as I can remember, and have been gently pushing them on a daily basis for a couple of weeks now, along with moisturising as recommended. Will the PNF's eventually settle to a more defined shape, or will I have to tend to them daily by nudging them for ever more?! Thanks so much for all your very informative videos.
Thank you x a million. I am using your routines to save my hands. I had one professional manicure and left the salon with bleeding hands. She cut down into the sides of the nails. Last professional job for me unless I get to your salon.
Oh gosh! I'm so sad to hear about your experience, unfortunately it's common 😥
Such a wonderful way of explaining. I'm going to follow this and hope it will fix my skin problem on the nails side . Now I see how many mistakes I did to trying to make my nails looks better where in fact looking worse and the skin growing on like crazy.Thank you so much ❤ I just wondering if you have any tips for dead skin on heels. Few years ago I did very big mistake using skin off mask on my feet and however all looks better now still is not same as before. So if anyone thing about skin of mask I strongly NOT RECOMMEND.
Anna I used to teach my clients the same filing technique for the hard skin on the free edge corners of the nail. I’m very hopeful. I’m going on Amazon tonight. I’ve seen one in a red box with a picture of a heel on it. I’ll find it. Thank you so much!
Links to the product are in the description box:))
@@TheSalonLife I remembered that after I typed it and sent it. Thank you.
Oh my goodness... I HAVE to try this. Ive been CUTTING them ive got to stop
Love it ❤🎉
Wow! This is exactly what my nails look like
WOW! I'm so glad I found the Salon Life videos-Thank You!
My nails look just like hers. I’m going to try this method
1:11 what should one do about the cuticle like shown in the picture? is routine use of kerasal enough to take care of the cuticle without blue cross? because I know/assume that the kerasal is able to soften the living skin and PNF and make it more elastic for pushing back and not growing stuck to the nail after 3 weeks but I'm unsure of the cuticle. could the cuticles eventually fall off due to moisture, such as when taking a shower? Or should they be filed/drilled or buffed away?
I very much appreciate your detailed explanation of things. I was an ER nurse for 18 years, but didn't deal with many nail issues other than avulsion and subungual hematomas. As a woodworker and artist, I've been dealing with this kind of thing for years. Now that I've started some of your suggestions, my cuticles/skin is much better. Thank you!
Thank you for this I have a client with very stubborn skin stuck on her nail plate and wasn't sure how to push it back without hurting her! But thank you!!
The client needs to understand that 90% success is up to her/him. They need to maintain and care for the skin and they have to learn to nudge it every 2 days. You doing it once every 2-3 weeks is not gonna help in this case
Thanks!
HI Bluesky! Thank you so much for your contribution to the channel. We really appreciate it! ☺ Have a great day! - MSL
omg i cant believe a cheap ointment does all this magic... thanks!!!
You're so welcome!
@@TheSalonLife Thank you! However, it seems there is no Kerasal in my country :( do you think something like Avene Akerat 30 would work instead?
It looks like a miracle
🙏Thank You For Your Advice And Instructions. I Will Do My Best To Self Care🙏
I am a new nail and I recently started using Hyaluronic acid(sp) on really dry cuticles, it it has worked pretty good! Have you tried that? What are your thoughts?
Hello. It’s Denise again. I’ve been watching many many of your videos because I’m very interested in your system to help with the skin overgrowth at the PNF area that is stuck down so hard to the nail, that I too have been cutting them since high school 40 years ago! This video on her worst nail is what mine look like. And they grow back stuck down to the nail already just 2,3 days after a full manicure and removal. I will get some kerasol asap and start using that at night. I’ve been pushing them back everyday and that’s helping a little. I have caused temporary damage to my beautiful nails many times because this is adhered so tightly and there’s so much of it, I’ve had to press too hard or damaged with efile trying to get it to come off or even cut through the plate with a cuticle knife I’m very qualified to use. It’s very frustrating to have this problem when my career was a nail tech and I was in high demand for even my manicures because of my skin removal. Very frustrating. I was glad to see someone with similar problems. Thank you for the advice! I’ll be trying it! I have a cuticle pusher and oil at each sink now too! Lol
7:32 I'll definitely try that in my toes, I always get that type of hard skin, but I'll have to be careful bc I feel like my nails are too sensible
OMG! You are amazing! Keratin! Quick question, what does 'cuticle remover' do? Brilliant video! Thank you!
Hi Nona! Cuticle remover is usually quite alkaline and it breaks down the skin so the dead skin from the nail plate (cuticle tissue) can be gently removed from the nail plate. It shouldn't be left on the skin and nail for longer than listed by the manufacturer. It can definitely irritate the skin if left on for too long. What you see there in this video is stretched living skin and not stretched cuticle. It's important to know the difference. :)
Hi Anna thanks for your content on nail health and treatment. Quick question can/should you keep these routines when you have polish on your nails? Thanks
Hi Ana! Yes of course! The video of me pushing back the skin was with clear polish on. You are not pushing back the polished part. And you don’t have polish on the skin.
