What would you do when you think no one is watching? What Would You Do? (WWYD?) explores the varying answers with the help of hidden cameras capturing individuals who have been placed within seemingly everyday situation that quickly go ary. The individuals on this hidden camera show are forced to make tough calls when directly faced with situations of racism, violence, hate crimes, and other hot button cultural issues. Catch John Quinones reporting on these individuals as they make split-second decisions to intervene or mind their own business. WWYD? airs Friday nights at 9|8c on ABC.
What Would You Do? (WWYD) is a hidden camera show, hosted by ABC News correspondent John Quinones, in which unknowing bystanders are placed in uncomfortable, and often compromising real world scenarios in public. WWYD’s hidden cameras focus on the average person’s responses and reactions to these issues of social responsibility. Topics such as gay couples being affectionate in public, date rape, racism and racial profiling, interracial couples, abusive parents, drunk driving, and harassment of the homeless are touched upon in this series. What will you do? Would you choose to intervene in these situations? Watch and join the discussion.

I had to wait until 16 and buying my own clothes to wear plaid cardigans and shirts bc she said it was too boyish/lesbian. And has the same attitude towards Harry Styles wearing a dress, disgust. • My dad is abt 45 yrs old, married to a woman, and has 2 kids- He isn't gay, he isn't very feminine AT ALL, but he still loves to tag along with me and my mom to the nail salon every now and then. He always gets a manicure, a pedicure, massage, and sometimes a facial. In fact, he even makes friends with the nail techs and they gush over him and compliment him. We are about to visit the salon in a few days and he is VERY excited to go! Having pink nails as a male WILL NOT turn you into a gay, feminine, or even transgender person, because as the video said, that is something you are born with.

    • @@gettingcalledoutontwitteri1882 Yeah, parents these days should really be more lenient on child interests and tastes. It doesn't mean your child will be a criminal if they dress to a certain style or piece of clothing. While I wouldn't allow my child to get tattoos before the age of 18, I'd be more lenient with clothing styles and revealing clothing as long as its appropriate for the area. Hopefully children in the future will get this opportunity!

  • It’s heartbreaking to know that sadly this is still the case for many people to this day. I actually got a full set of acrylic nails at the salon yesterday and I loved it. The nail technician was amazing, the people smiled, we laughed, we gossiped, I didn’t feel threatened. I only pray that the trend of being who you are is socially accepted more and more as time passes. No one deserves to feel ashamed over how they want to express their individuality. If a man wants his nails done, as he should. If a women wants to wear mens clothing, that is her right. If a young child growing into an adult is finding their selves through what they see as what they love and feel they belong in, that is beautiful. Life is a never ending road to enlightenment and if anyone feels scared, don’t be, try new things that peak your interest! Not to say you absolutely have to do something like get acrylic nails installed, but if you for example want to try makeup or different clothes to see how you’d look, go for it! Your body is a work of art~ use it to it’s fullest potential!

Whenever they come for their class, they’re always so happy to show me their nails. And during the lessons they act just like any other little boy would act while having fun learning and playing in the water. I also have a male coworker who likes wearing nail polish who’s straight. Boys should be able to choose what they like and explore all the world has to offer. Just because a boy chooses to wear pink nail polish, it doesn’t mean they’re automatically gonna turn out gay. And even if they do, it is the parents’ job to love and support their children no matter what they like or don’t like.

  • Fun Fact: Pink was originally a man's colour and Blue was a woman's colour because back in those times, Blue was seen as a dainty and more feminine colour and Pink was seen as a stronger and more masculine colour. However newer society changed this. However colour should not be based on gender identity. It's wrong and unfair.

I officially would like to join the “Why in the f’ing world, why we should normalize this for boys/men to get manicures club.” I did find a salon geared towards men in my area to get the manicure. But now I think if I was out of town attending a function or on vacation and needed to get my nails done. I can walk into any nail salon and get my nails done and give a FU to anyone who questions me on it. So if I ever have a son and he wants to get his nails done too have at it my man enjoy yourself. My experience today did not change my sexual orientation but it now gave me a confidence boost to start taken better care of myself and not what society tells me I should be doing.

  • Ironically enough when I was a kid watching my mom paint her own nails, it just looked fun to me and I asked her to paint my nails too. She happily obliged and did so, the color was red if it matters lmao. In the end of the day I am a 100% straight male, I don't paint my nails or anything along the lines now or ever outside of that time. I just saw it as being a kid and doing something that I found fun with my mom. I would always love to make a mess and get dirty as a kid, and just having paint on my fingernails kinda related to that in a way. It was something I only did like once or twice. Also, the stigma of a boy being around their mother a lot will make them gay, is BS. I was raised by a single mom and I was an only child and again I am 100% straight today, and I'm sure as hell nowhere near feminine either lmao. Just let people do what makes them happy. It doesn't have anything to do with you, and more importantly it's not your life to worry about and/or criticize.

  • My nephew saw my eyeshadow pallet when he turned five and the first thing he said to me was “auntie can you put this on?” At first I thought he was asking me if I could apply it to myself because I had literally just got home from choir and I said “yeah honey. That’s what I’m wearing now.” And he said “no auntie on me” and I smiled and said “sure.” Logan was 5 I only applied it because I knew his father(my brother) wouldn’t care. I sent a picture to him and he showed his husband(my brother in law who I forgot to account for) I immediately got cussed out but I said “He’s young let the kid live! If he learns he doesn’t like make up okay that’s his thing! But he wanted to see so I let him!” Logan’s 10 now will be 11 in May, still likes learning how to apply make up and wear it. Since I was at school for his birthday when I started working at hot topic the first thing my paycheck bought him was an eyeshadow pallet and make up brushes from the store.

I teach my kids to love who they are regardless of what some one may say. His favorite color is pink, he wears pink any chance he gets buys pink school supplies. He has friends who love him and has ran in to people who judge him. He’s who he is, he recently went to a party and his best friends mom made these custom water bottles for all the kids. He was so happy to see that his friends mom gave him the pink water bottle.

Would run around the house saying “look mom I’m pretty like you”. He is now 20 and straight. When I bring it up we laugh about it. Kids do whatever make them happy. Just let them be kids and enjoy themselves. It isn’t going to define who they turn out to be.
