This whole thing is hilarious but there was a serious side to these cars and it's amazing that they were actually legal on the road. One crashed into my dad's Cortina in the seventies and had rolled over before impact. My dad told me the reliant disintegrated into a cloud of fibreglass bits on impact and I recall him going to visit the driver later in hospital. I don't recall the Cortina needed much fixing.

I think the real issue is the very small, single, and centered front wheel which controlled the steering, as well as the car having much too small of a wheelbase to make turns at speed. For a car from the 70s, it's aerodynamics are fine. The body style seems like early 90s cars, and it's pretty small

I rolled a reliant down a hill in the lake district once. It rolled three times and landed on its feet on the hairpin bend below. Almost no damage which we fixed with gaffer tape. Great cars.

The team actually modified some things to make it more unstable, for the sake of the show. In reality, you'd be hard pressed to get these things to roll.
