AVP doesn't state that Predators created the Xenomorphs, only that they brought the Xenomorphs to earth to hunt as part of some rite of passage ritual.

Remember watching the original predator back in the 80’s when I was 9 years old on a VHS pirate copy that my older brother had. Such a classic which blew my tiny little mind! 🤯
I remember seeing predator 2 at 7 years old with my pops, idk why but the scene where he heals with the blue paste, it always scared the hell outta me🤣
My mom bought my copy of Predator on vhs from a garage sale for me when I was 12 it was 2002 lol thanks mom! Watched this classic with my 8 year old son i just had to to show him my favorite movie as soon as I could! Covered his eyes on some scenes lol he loved it tho he’s a good kid!

I was somewhere between 10-12 when I first saw it. I got the VHS in a bargain bin at the mall. Blew my mind as well. My best friend and I became obsessed and watched it non stop.
Kudos for a great format, finally, all high-quality full-screen with no switches to black bars, with plenty of scenes illustrating the story. Keep up the standard.
Would like to see Predators returning to their home world. I would like to see what it looks like and how are they are governed.
The only film to show the Predator's home world was AVP Requiem. They have a win for that.

What's cool about the original Predator is that it kinda holds up in terms of character appearances and set designs, tech, etc. Nothing really 'ages' it during that jungle adventure. Sure, some elements of the effects (still very good overall) are clearly limited by the available tech at the time, but there's a real practical/gritty feel to it -- and I still love the cloaking effect they used, and kudos to the old school creature helmet HUD visuals and sound design. So iconic.

I would actually like to see a sequel to “Predators” the hunting reserve predator, I actually thought that was a pretty great predator movie. My other idea: A tv show (Netflix) centered around a predator bounty hunter that takes place throughout different planets. So basically a predator space fantasy show. Predators are not inherently evil, but they enjoy the thrill of the hunt; they are also clearly smart and capable of reason. So basically I would like to see a space fantasy movie centered around a predator bounty hunter as it moves through the system hunting different species with contracts on their head. Imagine the Mandalorian, but with a predator. The predator is collecting on contracts and upgrading his equipment throughout the show. It would obviously be a mature show as well.

The only reason this wouldn't work is because the Yautja have a rule/law/code that prevents them from really associating with other species as a group because they consider all other beings like humans and other sentient beings to be inferior to them however there have been acceptions for individuals like a human who was shown favor by a yautja and allowed to be taken in into his tribe. They were still pretty racist toward her though(this is in a comic btw)

Actually it is supposed to be on Bouvet Island off the coast of Antarctica. In our real world, Bouvet Island is claimed by Norway and used to have a whaling station which has not been occupied for decades (although there is a climate reserach station located there currently). In the real world, Bouvet is nearly 1000 miles from Antarctica and not surrounded by pack ice in the winter like it was in the movie. Basically they took the name Bouvet Island and fictionally placed it off of Antarctica.
Large parts of Antarctica is Norwegian territory because we discovered it, explored it, named it and claimed it, so it's ours. Also if you ask Brigadier Sir Nils Olav III Colonel-in-chief of the Norwegian King’s Guard and native Antractican he'll confirm it's ours.
I feel like Schwarzenegger made predator so good because he was such a physical force that you'd see him as humanity's choice to fight a Predator. If Dwayne Johnson would be physically imposing enough to fit that role, but I think his movie choices are more family friendly and comedic than what Predator movies bring to the table.
I think Brock Lesner would be a nice challenge for the Predators.

Great video. I didn't know the AvP films had stories about as good as any of the others. They ought to be considered canon.
Know it’s been a year mate but they are cannon. The riddly Scott movies say that David the cyborg actually redeveloped and recreated the aliens they where extinct at the time of that movie and he reintroduced them using the black goo in said films. The predator brought the aliens to earth in the early years of humanity to hunt as the right of passage in there respected “community” to go from “unblooded” to “blooded” yaujta. On a side note I would never listen to looper on these film time lines and look at different smaller channels because they are a lot more in-depth and have a lot more knowledge.

He was expected to provide generic growling "monster sounds", but was unable to do so because his throat was shot after doing exactly that for several extensive voice-over sessions earlier. So inspired by Predator's resemblance of an upside down horseshoe crab he chose to record the now iconic quiet clicking instead.

Xenomorphs adapt and look like the animals they are hatched from. Their origin hasn't been covered in the movies yet; only a couple of stories about different variations/looks. I'm still a fan of both, and I hope they keep going.

Correction: The Predator dubbed "Wolf" was described as a "Clean Up Crew" for any issues such as the one they faced. Full circle if you will with the very first Predator movie as Dutch and his crew were a Mercenary group sent in to "clean up a mess". He didn't just "take it upon himself" to act on this, he was sent this specifically because it's his job to do so.
Should have done that with recent Predators. The mutant Predator tries to cause some kind of ruckus but gets stranded on Earth and a "good guy" Predator is sent to clean up.

the comic for Predator 2 came out before the screenplay was written for the movie. Originally, in the comic, Harrigan is Dutch's brother. Also, Pradator: WAR was the first match up by Dark Horse for Aliens and Predators showing that the Predators seed out of the way planets and moons with xenomorphs to hunt.

Since "Predators" came before "The Predator", I would assume that the kidnapping of humans and taking them to the game reserve planet had already been going on; and, the weapon brought to Earth was to start arming humans to stop the generically modified Predators from continuing to steal humans.

While not mentioned the AvP movie is heavily based on the first AvP book. In which an asian woman is the sole survivor on a colony world after predators engaged an alien outbreak. With the final scene of the movie being nearly identical to a scene at the end of the book. However she goes with them in the book.

4:30 Keyes whole team was killed first but he managed to survive and confront the Predator and ended up getting cut in half by the smart Disc, one of the coolest scenes in the movie just thought maybe it should have been brought up
It's part of the hunter's code of honor that you don't kill babies or pregnant females. I loved that they used that in Predator.
I always thought the bigger predators were the adults, I read someone the one we see in Predator 1 and AVP ones are kids or teenagers tasking with a hunt similar to that of what the Spartans used to do as a right of passage.

The original Predator from the 80s looks even better than it used to. In 4K it looks absolutely epic. Especially after they touched it up - removing the scene where you can clearly see Carl Weathers' are tied behind his back - it really does look amazing because it's mostly jungle and not a great deal of CGI. Top 5 movies for sure.
Sometimes less is more. Original predator obviously captures the mystery cos you don’t know what’s hunting them in the first movie. Makes it more thrilling. You know what’s coming in the other movies.
I have a 7 foot tall lifelike Predator I purchased from a big gym that was sold. They had tons of memorabilia and they needed to do something with it. It's scary as shit for anyone coming to the house!

I never really liked the Predators as they always seemed like a huge contradiction to me. They are always presented as intergalactic hunters with a sense of pride or honor, but also touch down on technologically inferior planets and kill people with their obviously superior armor. I mean they have a shoulder cannon that can lock-on to anything their visor can see, they have a visor that can see 50 different types of vision, and they spend most of the time using active camouflage so the things they are hunting can't even see them. It would be like sending a US Marine in full gear on a mission to take down a group of deer; yes the deer could in theory take down the Marine, but it is highly unlikely. Yet they are always said to have a sense of honor because they only attack those with the ability to fight back.
