  • I said it a million times HBO should make a series about the predator planet and culture. They should show the training, rituals, and hierarchy. No English, subtitles are fine. The only human character that speaks English is the Japanese girl that they accepted into the clan and made her an honorary warrior and trained her.

It can't have any Disney aspects. It needs to be hard and gritty. No English. The culture of the clan should be emphasized.

    • The Xenomorphs were mishandled so incredibly bad by the 2nd movie "Aliens" that just reduced them to insects. Yet people who _claim_ to be Alien fans, love that movie not realizing it is actually the absolute *worst* Alien movie by light years. On its own, its a great action movie. But James Cameron just wanted to make a Starship Troopers movie, which essentially what he did, turning the Lovecraftian Xenomorphs into an insect like creature, utterly ruining them. James Cameron is a terrible director. Yes, I know, Terminator 2, yada yada.

  • The only gripe I have with yautja lore is there's essentially nothing about engineers, shipmakers, their spacecraft manufacturing, maintenance - like, where'd their spacefaring tech come from, was it bestowed up them or their own discovery? Do tribes & clans build their spacecraft or do they go to a predator spacecraft dealership? Stuff like that, predator technology, would be fun to explore even in a movie imo

    @anthonycarlisle6184@anthonycarlisle61847 ай бұрын
    • The tech is stolen from their enslavers, after over throwing them in an uprise the species adopted the oppressors culture and became "Predators" themselves. They enslaved the oppressors, which handle all thier tech and ship work. So much potential to be expanded on.

As they have tech far superior to what we have available to us it would make sense that they would have not only a written language, but also advanced mathematical equations. It could be that the Yautja enslave a race of beings that are the brains behind the technology, but I prefer the image of Yautja nerds dressed in lab coats, thick glasses, and pocket protectors working hard over a hot Bunson burner.

We also have no idea what lore is exclusive to one clan or to all Yautja. Like xenomorphs might not be for every clan. We have seen that the mainline movies take president over books and AVP and will retcon as needed. We see that in Prey, they completely retconed the origin for the pistol.

  • My take on the Predator blood was a high concentration of biliverdin and phosphorus, which made it glowing green. The dreadlocks, I thought, served a purpose much like the ears of an elephant; they act as radiators to help the body shed excess heat and might also bear a higher sensitivity to electromagnetic fields. For the homework, I thought the gravity would be lower, allowing for the greater height and lanky build, but their musculature is as dense as Terran reptiles, allowing them their strength.

  • In AVP, the one predator seemed to understand what the surviving woman said. He was aiming a spear at her, she told him "Wait!" He did, and she then gave him the gun taken from the pyramid earlier in the movie, saying "The enemy of my enemy is my friend" (tho there's no sign if he understood that or not) A little later, he starts walking away from her, and she says "I'm coming with you." He rounds on her, but it seems like he understood that because he then makes a weapon for her using parts from the Xenomorph they just killed.

Rather during the coming of age ritual that qualifies young yautja to begin training for their first hunt to become an adult, an agonizing process is used to braid their quills. If the Yautja shows any signs of pain (tears, flinching, wincing ect) all the braids are undone and the process begins again, continuing until they succeed or die.

This could be how it knows where the surface is so perhaps like whiskers they are used environment investigation, in P-2 after Glover shoots the predator with the AR the predator ripped off dread that was damaged off further giving the impression that the dreads have nerves and are used to feel out the environment. Because of the predators eye sight this does seem to hold logic.

  • Sci-fi or not your blood has oxygen in it while it's in your body, that is quite literally the very purpose for your blood is to provide oxygen to the body. I remember a similar thing even being taught to me in school saying that we have blue blood and it turns red when it hits oxygen It's always getting oxygen that's what blood is for . And what makes iron red is guess what oxygen It's oxidized iron like rust which can look rather red if it's pure iron

  • The theory on the dreadlocks that makes the most sense to me is that they serve as motion sensors/detectors, easily able to pick up on even the slightest wind or air displacement, greatly augmenting their already highly attuned senses and proving indispensable in hunting and combat.

  • The Predator from Prey was the Down Syndrome Predator. It's look and actions all point to it being a short bus version of the Predators. From paying no attention to its surroundings and it's attacks are weak with far weaker weapons. If they can master light speed travel then the weapons should be better.

    • Yautja deliberately use weaker weapons to make the hunt a challenge and give their prey a sporting chance. They're not hunting to harvest something through efficient killing, they're hunting because they enjoy it, and because it's a cornerstone of their culture to do so. An honorable fight, to them, is more important than winning in this instance. If they wanted to win they have shoulder-mounted plasma cannons that could glass city blocks, but the one sent to Earth in Prey was a young inexperienced hunter sent to be blooded in a fresh killing ground and bring back trophies to prove his mettle against humanity.
