  • I can only imagine the emotional roller coaster Murray's mom and his family went through. He really deserved this title. Djokovic lost so many slam finals between 2012-2014. Then became so clutch in Slam finals from 2015 onwards.

    • He was clutch 2012-14 too. But whose years he faced nadal, murray and in part federer all in their prime. There was never any version of djokovic that could win more titles during 2011-2014

    • @@occelatus1063 That's just not entirely true. Are you even watching the same match I am? Look how brutally Novak played the deciding points in set 1 and set 2 of this match. Terrible from Novak, you wouldn't see this often from Novak 2011/2015. Novak choked several finals in those years. No way he would lose to Murray twice in major finals in peak form. Also, the year all 4 were at their strongest was probably 2011 (ELO wise this somewhat holds true), and that's the year Novak dominated the most. Novak was definitely prime 2012-2014 but noticeably worse than 2011/2015. Results against the entire field speak for this also. What you said can be true for 2018-2023, who wouldve won less with same competition as 2011-2016

    • @@Mark-ut5oq I get what you´re saying but the exact same thing could be said about Nadal, Fed, Murray and Wawrinka 2011 and 2015 so.. It goes both ways: 2011: Fed choked US open. 2012: Nadal and Murray both choked AO 2013: Don´t believe anyone choked but Fed had a bad year. (Djokovics loss to Nadal 2013 was not a bad performance the same way Nadal did not play bad US open 2011). 2014: Djoko didn´t even have to beat Nadal nor Murray to win slams and Fed wasn´t near his prime 2014. 2015: Nadal barely played. Murray only played well AO. Fed was not at his prime. Obviously Wawrinka played insanely well some GS 2014-16 but was otherwise completely absent. The point is, Djoko didn´t "loose" those finals. It was simply better competition

  • Djokovic has lost more than 1 GS final due to not being able to adapt properly to the wind. This was one of them, those who watched it live remember that the wind was brutal that day. Some people might think I’m making an excuse but I’m not. One skill is being adaptable to the various conditions, and Nole is notoriously BAD in windy conditions. At least he made it competitive, deserved win from Murray

  • *Murray in 2012 was a beast. Great champion with 2 Wimbledon and 2 Gold Medal at the Olympic Games in 2012 and 2016 (also 5 Australian Open finals).* Great final against the G.O.A.T., Nole.

    • The wind is the reason Murray won this match, and it also played a big factor in Novak’s loss at Wimbledon 2023. Not an excuse either, in fact if anything it’s the opposite. Novak is HORRIBLE in windy conditions, it’s a known fact

    • @@Luchon20082010 Djokovic went into beast mode in sets 3 & 4, but from what I remember Murray edged the first 2 sets, and then just ran away with it in the final set. So Definitely wouldn't say Djokovic played "much better" overall. But it was a long time since I watched the full match.
