He has tried to make games in the past after Minecraft's buyout, however he's never finished anything. The main difference between this and his previous attempts at making games, he actually isn't lonely and is working with people on the game, which I think is exactly what he needs.

Personally I’ve never been mad at Notch. At the time of selling mojang and all of its assets to Microsoft, it seemed like a good idea. And it was, at first. Then Microsoft started pulling an EA move and adding subscriptions to Minecraft. And now we’re where we are today.
well what was cool about Microsoft buying Minecraft, if they buy a software usually they can make it free with Windows, and a free copy of Minecraft coming with windows is good news. Nowadays Windows is becoming bloated, and Minecraft is being heavily monetized, so things are going downhill regarding that entire company.

DUDE I WAS JUST WATCHING PART OF YOUR 4J VIDEO, I thank you for that, I am mostly just taking screenshots/images and throwing transitions on it with some background gameplay. I don't know whether I'll be able to keep doing this or whether I'll be able to use this style for "The Life Cycle of Minecraft" documentary video, but, hopefully you'll blow up too Kodek. I can't really find a job so I am just pumping these videos out and are coming up with ideas.

As I suggested in the video people should cheer him on, and not badger him about Minecraft, if he becomes happy enough finishing and releasing this game, I think he'll be comfortable enough to come back to working on voxel games again.
@@cubedimensions I agree that we should be supportive of his healthy development, he is escaping from a very dark place. Others will disagree however, whether with justification or not and there will inevitably be discourse upon the game’s public release, it will be interesting to see but I agree in the hope that it won't make him spiral again.

I said that Notch might join a massive project or be willing to do something revolutionary again if he becomes comfortable enough, he is still a billionaire after all. He is now working with people now after the split from Mojang which is the big difference compared to his previous attempts at making games

It was still crazy to see this font was from something that wasn't Minecraft originally, Minecraft took textures from a dungeon crawler Notch made that no ones knows about, and he's doing the same with this dungeon crawler, reusing assets from his old projects he abandoned.

@@Randommanontheinternet9641 The creator of Hypixel got burnt out as he was running both projects, made Noxy who was his right hand man the CEO and sold full control of the game to Riot Games, the game engine they worked 5 years on was scrapped, and they still keep people in the dark to this day of what's really going on. I have a 3 videos on Hytale's demise, and an april fools video on it, on this channel.

I was very impressed but when he said it's in JS I was double-impressed and half dissapointed lol it's kind of a garbage language in many ways, and it being used in places outside of web is a bad thing on the either side, I think it's pretty cool.
WebGPU exists now so performance issues aren't as bad as you think, and porting it to desktop won't be too hard and it won't be as bad
There are very few languages you can't say the same about, really.
