  • Its hard to tell from just a short video clip, but just in case, you should contact an arborist or some other expert to make sure it isnt oak wilt. Cause if it by chance is, you need to get rid if the tree before the fungal infection spreads. Most likely its just winter die back, however if it isnt, swift and decisive action will be important to saving the rest of your oaks.

  • The oak could be in shock due to transport and the planting process , if the root ball is significantly damaged it could cause some of the limbs to suddenly die. If that is the problem simply prune the dead branch back to the green above the selected knode. You can put a plant stimulator on the fresh cut but that usually isn't necessary. We love the work you've put into this project , very rewarding. Looking forward to the next vid. 👍

  • FieldBot ideas: - Add a speaker/siren and use to keep foxes away from the henhouse (figuratively or literally). A motion sensor and remote camera would allow some control there. - Same features as above, but use for human security. Actuators to open/close remote gates, speak to trespassers, etc. - Remote gate cameras/actuators could control livestock movement from one area to another. - Use to actuate/monitor feral hog traps. - "Quick Deploy" version could be used by hunters. Place FieldBot some distance away and use noisemaking feature when game is between hunter and FieldBot, moving game towards hunter. - "Quick Deploy" version could have uses for law enforcement, surveillance, robotics, the sky's the limit really.

  • Fieldbot could easily be adapted to a number of indoor animal husbandry situations as well as outdoor. A solution to monitor say temperature, humidity, air flow/ventilation that would normally require a number of proprietary devices, would allow a customized central hub that could be deployed quickly and with sensors that are commonly available, could greatly improve commercial/residential outcomes. I look forward to seeing what can be done with this! Fantastic ideas!

    @ravenmoon1165@ravenmoon1165Ай бұрын
  • Just a few comments on your work project: 1) I think it’s a fantastic idea 2) consider using LORA for data transmission. 3) For the pond, you could setup a SQL database that reads in data on the pond. With the stored data you could have a machine learning algorithm running on a jetson nano/ raspberry pi that can make prediction models. (Ex: if you haven’t had rain in a week and the daytime temp is 80 or higher, you may need to turn on the well even if it hasn’t reached the water level sensor yet). These are obviously far-fetched ideas, but you could make this a very cool pond management tool. You could even implement your fish finding sensors and map fish habits based on temperature, humidity, weather, etc.

  • Crows are not a threat to eagles, but great horned owls definitely are. Lots of birds mob hawks and eagles including crows and shrikes, but owls will blast them right off their perches and can injure them. If you watch the famous SWFL bald eagle cam you can see this. There are several instances of it recorded on video. It just happened there a few days ago to a three month old eaglet E23. If you want eagles to nest on the platform you'll likely need to build a five x five foot starter nest anchored with wire rope. Bear in mind though it's a metaphysical certitude that Al Capone (likely Alice Capone given females are always larger in owls, eagles and other raptors) will attack them. But that is common and the eagles will reluctantly live with it as they do in many other places. You should add more perches under the platform so eagles can land without hitting the ground if Alice Capone blasts one during the night.

  • So funny talking about oak trees on a pond/fish channel, lol...but you should look into oak wilt or crown rot which both of those are usually seen in spring/early summer. • IDEA TO SEE FISH BETTER: There's a special angle in physics called brewsters angle. When you have two materials with different index of refraction there is one angle where the light that makes it into your eye, or a camera, has no reflective part and only the transmitted part coming from underneath the water. For the water air interaction this is about 53 degrees from the perpendicular axis to the water. It would be a cool expereiment to try to set up a camera at that angle looking into the small pond and we should see straight through the water like glass to all the fish underneath with no reflections from the clouds.

  • Yay that time again , thanks for the joy 🙏 About those field bots , in Australia about 25 years ago my friends family had something similar at a vineyard in Molong NSW , you could look at the soil quality in every row of grapes on a computer away from your farm also , wonder if the field bot is a more modern version ?

  • Please check out how their (your pond's bass) major feeding times line up with the "Bass Forecast" app's predicted Major and minor feeding times. That will be VERY interesting! Personally, I am rarely catching my fish during the predicted times! Most of the time, the fish I catch come before and after the predicted times. ...Those frog blow ups were epic. Reminds me of the old Bama Bass fishing video days! ...So glad you got that water cleared up in the new pond. That pond is SO gorgeous. I really love how everything seems to be coming together now. The eagle landing on the branch was pretty awesome. All that hard work bearing fruit. ...That Fieldbot is going to be a game changer!

    • Back in the 50s and 60s my dad was a faithful follower of the Solunar Tables with their major and minor activity schedules. We would fish all day anyway but when the time was approaching dad would always warn us to be ready because the bass were going to start striking our lures faster than ever any minute now. Those tables were right as rain most of the time.

  • Great video Stephen. Can’t wait to see how creative you’ll get with the fieldbot. Just exactly how far can you go with it. Will it capture wildlife & fish videos, edit it, then post it to KZhead, if so, this could open up a completely different section of your channel that could be very entertaining. Break it down into the different regions of the farm, it would amazing content. Love your channel, been watching since before you started your backyard pond. ❤❤❤
