    • It's Czech Republic It's like I would call your country Canadia. Google decided to rename Czech Republic into Czechia, and the official announcers ran with it since Two Years ago. Czechia used to be legally a province under Austrian-Hungarian Empire, thus it didn't have it's sovereign status. This thing with "Czechia" thing is another attempt to make the Czech Republic a vasal province, this time German. I despise it, and so should anyone who knows what's up. Again, would you like me to call your country Canadia? I doubt it.

    • Apparently, they didn't. Czechs made many defensive mistakes on almost each goal, each time they were caught watching the puck and not taking the body, so it made the Finland's job quite easy in first two. And then they thought their 3 goal lead is insurmountable, and they completely stopped playing. Plus, Czechs scored what...3 goals in PP? So that means Finland was taking too many penalties as well which tells you they were lazy on their skates and they compensated with fauls. This is how any good Coach would look at it because that's the fact. Not that the Czechs would be playing well but they took the initiative when Fins fell asleep. There were flashes of brilliant talent on each side but let's be honest here. While the Czech comeback was nothing short of a miracle, it was an average game with plenty of mistakes and mental breakdowns in each side. Finns shoud've learned the lesson from the Canada losing to Czechs in semis. But they didn't. End of story.

  • WOW, simply WOW. Considering how both teams started off that they'd end up contending for the bronze medal is amazing enough. What a move, too, replacing the gaolie early on and relying on a guy who hadn't "played a meaningful game in over a month"... Sure he let in a few, but it still may have been the decisive move. Czechia's third goal was amazing, too.

    @k.s.333@k.s.3334 ай бұрын
    • Yeah. The commentator noticed it too - Hrabal had let in couple "easy" of goals glove-side in the tournament; the coach probably figured the Finns know where to shoot at him... also his confidence probably went a bit down after those two goals (even though the 2nd one was not completely his fault; his own D-man made him not see it... but the first one was a glove-sided goal, the same as in previous game...).. So changing the goalie to the backup who was unknown to the Finns, was a smart move

  • 🇨🇿 Great match, great players. They didnt lose their spirit after all those difficult minutes while losing. I am happy about Augusta's decision that Vondraš could be also a part of our fantastic game and earned the medal actually playing and not only sitting and supporting team. Hrabal wasnt really himself after yesterday's match and Vondraš got a chance to show his attitude and qualities. Augusta also made that decision for empty net right on time. I am proud and thank you guys for such a nerve thrilling experience🎉🎉🎉🎉 Happy to watch from 🇨🇿 while Záruba was screaming so happily "goal".

  • Bravo guys, you fought till the end. I would not blame Hrabal, yes he "gifted" Sweden 2 or 3 goals and today he wasn´t sure again, but his performance against Canada was top notch. They are all still very young. But what disgusts me the most is how the refs are doing at these WJC. Absolutely insanely ridiculous. What they did e.g. yesterday in match FIN-USA, or earlier at QF SWE-SUI, even today there were some crazy not called situations on both sides, they destroyed several matches. 🤮But good job for Czech team, they proved that last year medal wasn´t a coincidence. Pity we didn´t make the final, but bronze medal is still very good.

    • Refs often get not entirely deserved hate, their job is harder than many fans care to admit, or realize, but in this WJC they had really tragic performance, mostly with the inconsistency in their calls.

    • Congrats for the win, well deserved, but I have to disagree here. The term was born in 2003 world championship quarter finals against Sweden. From 5-1 lead to 5-6 defeat. I remember watching it with my dad as a kid. It made me realize that with team Finland the game is never finished before the 60 minutes is over, not even if we had a 60 - 0 lead. :D

  • I have no idea how we managed to salvage this game, but I’m not complaining. I thought we were done for. Defense coaches of both teams must be laying side by side on the coronary unit right now, because both teams have rolled red carpets all the way to their creases today. We couldn’t control Finnish screening, and the Finns had no idea how to control our cross-ice passes. The coaches on both sides must be livid. I must say, I’ve been watching hockey all my life, but never before have I seen a complete meltdown like this. The Finns conceded 6 unanswered goals. Kind of spoils my satisfaction from the bronze medal, as I kinda like the Finns and don’t want to see them lose like this. That’s utterly demoralizing. Hopefully this will put some fire in their bellies and they end up having success in their senior careers. As for our boys, I’m really proud of their determination and never say die attitude. In the offensive zone, that is. Some of our defensive plays were … well some players will blush when they re-watch some of the moments. Medal’s one worse than last year, but hey, at least there is a medal, and we won our last game.

  • Morally, Finland has the silver. Yesterday's performance of the referees (diplomatically said) had some gaps. It is an even greater honor to win the bronze against an opponent who could easily have played in the final today.
