RTS is largely a dead genre largely due to how the overall fandom treated newcomers and how they kept forcing the genre to largely stay stagnant by crashing anyone that didn't cater exclusively to them. RTT (real time tactics) is has a revitalization as of late, surprisingly enough, thanks to the Wargame/WARNO series and games like Regiments. It's why Starcraft/Warcraft rules RTS with an iron fist, because Blizzard understood what the RTS fandom was against but genres like FPS flocked to: smoothing out the accessibility _cliff._ There is a very good video about accessibility (and how it isn't difficulty) out there, and another about why Starcraft rules RTS with an iron fist...

Argumenter_Respecter It’s not a bad game per say, it just didn’t have anything different. Japanese “symbolism” was the fad and it went away. The acting was cringe and took itself too seriously. Kane was a legend, why take him out and cheapen the game?

Those talking about corona virus must be just came from YT recommended and not the real RA fans, real fans will talk about stability of each unit, unit model design etc., all topic about the game. Let's me clarify, the modder's chinese name “日冕” is the sun's corona, not the corona virus. Just google translate it and you will get the "corona" as the translation result too. Definition for those not understand: The rarefied gaseous envelope of the sun and other stars. The sun's corona is normally visible only during a total solar eclipse when it is seen as an irregularly shaped pearly glow surrounding the darkened disk of the moon. Acturlly they plan to replace Hammer tank with Rhino in the very early stage of mod(I believe its like before they make cruisers), they even did something like "Notes from the field" of RA3 for it, and calling it "Rhino B"

Union Heavy Tank remind me of Overlord Rank from Generals, but it have missile and fireport instead of 3 additional upgrade, plus its kinda like the true reincarnation and improved version of Apocalypse tank (the new RA3 Apocalypse tank doesnt had missile event on Corona mod, although in the Corona's RA3 Apocalypse tank Concept Art the tank have missile launcher)

Union Heavy Tank is a bit redundant in purpose due to the Apocalypse Tank existing. A bit of reassessment might be needed when it comes to either repurposing either tank, or one replacing the role of the other.

If you don't mind my criticism, I feel like the Union Tank is not very in the style with the rest of the Soviet tanks. Soviet Tanks were all bulby and bulky - with curvy surfaces. Just look at Apocalypse, the Grinder, Sickle, Hammer, and better yet the MCV, and etc. The Union Tank is a flat and lean, with sharp edges - more akin to Alliance design. Also i don't see how a tank that flat can hold 4 soldiers inside, and there were no visual representation that they can open fire from inside: like gun ports and so forth. The key artistic point in a game like Red Alert, i realized, was that the external appearance had to exaggerate its function. People had to get some idea on what a unit can do just by glancing at its appearance. For example: the Apocalypse had two big oversized guns and a massive battery on his back, with that big bulge inbetween the cannons. From there we see... oh okay, so this guy had something like that. Anyway. Just a suggestion.

@@QWu-gk8fn Overlord's design features are in tune with the rest of the China's tank designs. Flat and sharp angled. Plus, when it is equipped to carry troopers it showed it by attaching a bunker on the tank turret. So it was visually obvious in comparison with the other variants

The Union Heavy Tank seems a bit too powerful. I mean it's basically a Red Alert 2 Apoclaypse tank with the Generals Overlord tanks bunker upgrade

RTS is largely a dead genre largely due to how the overall fandom treated newcomers and how they kept forcing the genre to largely stay stagnant by crashing anyone that didn't cater exclusively to them. RTT (real time tactics) is has a revitalization as of late, surprisingly enough, thanks to the Wargame/WARNO series and games like Regiments. It's why Starcraft/Warcraft rules RTS with an iron fist, because Blizzard understood what the RTS fandom was against but genres like FPS flocked to: smoothing out the accessibility _cliff._ There is a very good video about accessibility (and how it isn't difficulty) out there, and another about why Starcraft rules RTS with an iron fist...

Argumenter_Respecter It’s not a bad game per say, it just didn’t have anything different. Japanese “symbolism” was the fad and it went away. The acting was cringe and took itself too seriously. Kane was a legend, why take him out and cheapen the game?
@@purevessel The characters portrayal are bad, that I can agree. Like holy shit, I can't find one female character that's not fanserviced. The gameplay though, I feel it's the most 'balanced' out of the other RA games, especially since navy is just as important now. That left quite a mark on me.

Fantastic! The Union Class is what the RA3 Apocalypse should have been! You even improved the RA3 Apocalypse too! I adore the Glowing Tesla Reactor on the Rear of it! The Rhino's are delightfully chunky too, the launched mines are a great feature too.

Soviets apparently went even further back in time, since their tank model somehow is still from ww3. Though i cannot believe you also added Obj. 268 into the mod! Plus, i like that you made their TD actually be useful, and not like Allied german TD (which noone used except bots), i wonder how you made the allied td there tho, so i will be waiting for allied ground video too
Acturlly they plan to replace Hammer tank with Rhino in the very early stage of mod(I believe its like before they make cruisers), they even did something like "Notes from the field" of RA3 for it, and calling it "Rhino B"

The Soviet engineer take out blue print of Rhino, and put in some technology from Apocalypse, then the brand new Rhino B is roll in the battle field. ---Corona dev log

Great stuff! Few notes: - I personally miss old grinder on Apocalypse and stealgun on small tank. - If Union is bigger than Apocalypse - it must have 3 guns. Logic - small one with single gun, bigger one with 2 guns, and biggest with 3 guns!! =D

Union Heavy Tank remind me of Overlord Rank from Generals, but it have missile and fireport instead of 3 additional upgrade, plus its kinda like the true reincarnation and improved version of Apocalypse tank (the new RA3 Apocalypse tank doesnt had missile event on Corona mod, although in the Corona's RA3 Apocalypse tank Concept Art the tank have missile launcher)
Union Heavy Tank is a bit redundant in purpose due to the Apocalypse Tank existing. A bit of reassessment might be needed when it comes to either repurposing either tank, or one replacing the role of the other.

If you don't mind my criticism, I feel like the Union Tank is not very in the style with the rest of the Soviet tanks. Soviet Tanks were all bulby and bulky - with curvy surfaces. Just look at Apocalypse, the Grinder, Sickle, Hammer, and better yet the MCV, and etc. The Union Tank is a flat and lean, with sharp edges - more akin to Alliance design. Also i don't see how a tank that flat can hold 4 soldiers inside, and there were no visual representation that they can open fire from inside: like gun ports and so forth. The key artistic point in a game like Red Alert, i realized, was that the external appearance had to exaggerate its function. People had to get some idea on what a unit can do just by glancing at its appearance. For example: the Apocalypse had two big oversized guns and a massive battery on his back, with that big bulge inbetween the cannons. From there we see... oh okay, so this guy had something like that. Anyway. Just a suggestion.

@@QWu-gk8fn Overlord's design features are in tune with the rest of the China's tank designs. Flat and sharp angled. Plus, when it is equipped to carry troopers it showed it by attaching a bunker on the tank turret. So it was visually obvious in comparison with the other variants
