  • I'm going to say something here, and I don't care who it offends. I'm not black, but tennis and golf are the last two sports that have their racist ways about them. Why? Because they're both country club sports for one thing. Black people Don't really have access to tennis courts and golf courses, but white people do, and for the longest time white players were on the top in those sports until tiger woods, and the Williams sisters came along and ended that white reign, golf has pretty much stopped the racism, but in tennis it will show its ugly face every now and then, and let's be honest we all know why that ref was missing calls that would have benefited the black player, it's not just the serves, coco had to tell ths ref that laura wasn't allowed to sit in-between sets. Just complete disregard for the rules.

And the German opponent was taking too long to return to the serving line when Coco was prepared to serve. Just admit you hate black Americans and leave it at that. I fully understand your hate. But I don't think the quality of women's tennis really justifies equal pay, let alone the reduced crowd turnout. The WTA are currently having to dig out of their own pockets to give equal pay to their players because the tournaments don't do it as the ticket sales don't justify it. It's a bit insane really, especially when you consider the players winning these tournaments are already very wealthy compared to the lower ranked players. Why the WTA isn't spending money on those who need it is beyond me.

  • Tbf, Coco is a bit rash. She started celebrating early in her doubles, thinking they'd won, even though there were still games left to be played. And the umpire had already given her opponent a warning in this match. I wonder how much time Coco allowed between the warning and her outburst??

  • About 30 mins into the match there was a concern that Sigmund was having a medical episode, and the umpire gave her some leeway after a play since a doctor was evaluating her. She was deemed healthy enough to continue. But when it come to the unfairness, I think Coco Gauff did that to herself when she said to the umpire a little later in the game. "Ya’ll must be really afraid of me if you only let me play against a broken-down white B*****." Let just say thing when downhill from there. The US open actually posted the entire match on their KZhead page if you want to go take a look for yourself.
