This Should Have Launched FIRST - Logitech G915 TKL Review

The Logitech G915 TKL looks like a tenkeyless version of the standard G915 Lightspeed gaming keyboard but there's a lot more to it. The G915 TKL fixes a lot of the issues & problems we found with the G915 but there's also the price.....and that's still really high.

  • For those asking about how we got G-HUB to work, we have a beta version that was given to reviewers before the product was officially on sale. Technically G-HUB SHOULD have been updated by the time the G915 TKL went on sale. We honestly don't know what happened.

    @HardwareCanucks@HardwareCanucks3 жыл бұрын
    • That explains everything! I wish they'd drop a version with added support for the TKL as a "stopgap" until they can fully release the next update.

    • I've been trying all day today as I'm working on my own review of this keyboard. I wasn't part of the reviewers who were given the beta. I also read on Logitech's forum that Logitech has not uploaded the patch for G Hub to recognize G915 TKL yet, until the keyboard's official release date, which should be June 10th I believe... • Been waiting for this keyboard for so long. I've researched the crap out of this and as far as I can tell, there is literally no other keyboard that does the four things this one does: Long battery life, tenkeyless, mechanical, RF wireless. There are plenty of other boards that check 3 of those 4 boxes, but none as far as I know that get all four of them. Low-profile is just a bonus for me.

  • This is great balance for gamer by night and programmer by day! I loved my Apex 7 tkl with gateron reds but I was making plenty of errors in typing. This solves that problem with the tactile version, plus with bluetooth and wireless connectivity provides that clean minimalist look. It's expensive, but then it's not for the budget conscious.

    • I've had both, and got a TKL for ergonomic purpose (more space), then after a while, I realized that I don't use my number keys, for literally anything. So I went full TKL, with that said, don't let wireless gas your head up, pro's play on everything wired, no latency, draws more power which means high light levels, etc. Wired is the way to go, but if you "must" have one, get the g915 either used or renewed, no point in paying full price, especially when you can get other brands like Glorious with better functions and key caps that they sell directly.

I can reach up and flick it down or up really quick while gaming and I don't have to worry about making a bunch of unnecessary clicking/tactile noises. • I have the full size G915 and Keychron V2. (Both with blues). Here's my little review. I picked up the g915 at a local tech shop about 2 weeks ago for a pretty good deal at $200. The Keychron v2 was my main keyboard for about 2 months. The Keychron has this common issue where if you were to lightly push down on the key, the key would register without activating the "actuation point" physically on the keyboard. I personally didn't mind it too much, but it would sometimes get annoying when typing because I would rest my thumbs on the space bar, and randomly activating it. Battery life of the Keychron was around a solid 4-5 days before a recharge. The g915 on the other hand feels like what the Keychron could've been. The keys don't randomly actuate due to pressure, and overall the typing experience was much better. Keys feel very satisfying and I find that I type faster and more accurately with the g915 than ANY other keyboard I have ever used. I'm usually around the 80-90WPM mark with other keyboards, but with the g915, I got 98wpm on my first ever use. Battery life on this thing is fantastic. After a HEAVY week of use, the battery is at 43%.

  • I finally took the plunge on the linear version of this keyboard. Horribly expensive, but it's been fantastic for gaming and it's just a joyous typing experience - my accuracy is so much higher on this keyboard, and I can truly touch-type. The keycaps on my board have minimal rattle and waaay less than the version you reviewed - not sure if that's a difference between the linear and tactile versions, or whether they've changed something since the review. It's a beautifully engineered piece of kit and it feels so good to type on your just want to keep using it. So yeah, I feel a bit guilty for spending so much on a keyboard, but it's such a pleasing experience I don't regret it. :)

  • No UCB-C, keyboard rattle for a £200+ price point big F. ABS plastic....... like cmon logitech, ever since the G910 phased out with the arrival of the G512's your quality has gone down and pricing has gone way up. sorry but this is a major step backwards. Heck I would like to see a wired version of this for a much cheaper price but as usual wireless adds another £50+ to the price. Oh and the Ghub software........ so many problems with this 'alpha' piece of software

    • @@jayjaygolden5123 you serious........ damn your lucky. so many problems with ghub ranging from the constant loading logo bug (requires reinstall) features missing from Ghub that were previously found in LGS (profile locking) and I dont mean persistent profiles. LGS allowed you to lock profiles 'while in use' Ghub removed this option. Ghub updater sometimes 'just fails' like no warning/error etc. it will just 'try' to install a new update and vanish without ever reinstalling the software. Removing 'scanned' applications is not possible......... like wtf. cannot remove the default profiles found when you create a 'new application profile' so you basically have double profiles (if your using backups) Everytime i have to use my backup profiles saved to to cloud. they always create a 'second' profile and leave the default one in the application profile. go to delete and its greyed out. Just go on reddit and have a look.

  • This keyboard should cost 1/10 of the original price. It is ridiculous. I bought it and used it for couple months and I was so disappointed. NOTHING about this keyboard is worth the price. Keycaps and switches suck. They are wobbly unpleasant to type on and the noise is just horrible. Ergonomy is mediocre and RGB is nothing special. ... and don't let me start on G-HUB. I sold mine and bought low profile Keychron and with the money I had left I bought my wife Ben&Jerry. Seriously don't buy it. It is NOT worth it.
