Sad for Jørgenson. He wins but his win is overshadowed by the other event of today: WvA broke several bones and seems he out for months to come...
He was still massively stoked and I don't think he blames himself or is personally sad.
WVA has not only a broken collarbone. He broke 7 ribs, the scapula and sternum. This is at least a month of tremendous pain, he’ll be out of the Giro, and he won’t be back until maybe the Olympics. He’s young and will heal fast with the aid of doctors, however losing a month of training will really set him back. I broke 4 ribs, a scapula and separated my shoulder 3 years ago. To quite a while to get back, of course I’m more than twice his age.
My guess is that he'll race the Tour now.

I think Matteo has a shot at Flanders. He is riding so, so well. We've seen MvdP make mistakes in big races (like bonking in WC race when Mads won...). No pressure to win so just go for it!

Awful, terrible day. My anticipation for Sunday went from 100 down to 10. Flanders is my favourite race on the calendar, but there is basically no reason to watch it now. MVDP won 4 days before the race started.
Isn't Pogcar at the start?
Actually I think with MVDP being in his own league, there will be a lot of chaos as no other team will help Alpecin controlling the race. There are many more outsiders who can suddenly have a crack, who otherwise would get dropped as soon as WVA and MVDP start battling it out.

@@alpsalishIs it an odd take, that it's very unexciting to watch MVDP go solo with 90k to go and win by 5 minutes? But let's hope that smeetsound has a point and teams send riders in the morning break and refuse to help Alpecin control it, so they get a huge advantage that MVDP has to close by himself. That's the only way to save the race.
The classics bring so much unpredictability. I think we'll still have an exciting race ;)

@@kevinkruse8936 well when he slows down to celebrate and his leg is almost fully extended at the bottom of the stroke thats high i dont care about extensive fit testing they worked out their saddle height just fine back in the day just off of feel
yeah fair enough I'm just being a grouch. the super bent over, almost time trial positions in the peloton these days probably favor higher saddle heights than the more the casual positions though@@edwardojg

@@edwardojgwhat you mention is a very general fit/rule of thumb. It isn't a specific treatment for a particular rider and there is a range.
