  • Many a trucker saved my butt when traveling on unfamiliar mountain roads. I would get a good distance behind them, when they sped up or slowed down I followed suit. Also kept me from getting speeding tickets.

    • Your last hoorah for this winter? The fun is over now! Boring spring, summer and fall! We passengers can relax and enjoy the other seasons you take us thru! It's been interesting, I will say that!😃 You're the best!

    • Yes following a trucker in unfamiliar conditions is a no brainer. I will initially come close enough to the truck I wish to follow so the driver can identify me. I want him to know I am not a highway patrol. Then I will back off to a respectful distance and follow. My uncle was a truck driver who taught me, old school respect and sense with sharing the road with trucks. Here is some advice he would be happy to hear me share. People, when behind a truck and trailer, always stay at a distance where you are able to see at least one of his/her mirrors. That means they can see you. Thank you Uncle Les Fritch. He is gone but not forgotten.

  • Thank you for sharing your travels. I enjoy the "educational " value as you tell your side of the story behind the wheel of a big truck/tractor and trailer.

  • OMG! MIKE U HAVE NO IDEA HOW MUCH THIS 1 PARTICULAR VIDEO MEANS THE WORLD TO ME!🥲 Because 2 of the trucks u happen to pass were family that aren't here any more, and when I saw the company on the trailer I slowed the video down to see what trucks, 🥺😢 The 1st 1 was Brother and the 2nd 1 was Dad. They were on their way home that night cuz my nephew was born so they were trying to get home as fast as they could but u know I 70 and snow LOL. Cuz it was brother's son that happened to born early so my dad met up with him to make sure that he made home that night. Which they did, it was just few months later we lost my brother and then dad 2 months later they both were home then too. Thank you so much for making this video, now I have a video that I can show my nephew how Daddy and GPA were racing too get home to see u on the night he was born thats going to be very special since we shut down the company after Dad passed away. So, once again, THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH! YOU JUST MADE THE START OF THE NEW YEAR A VERY BRIGHT ONE FOR ME, MY FAMILY IS GOING TO FLIP THEIR WIGGS LOL WHEN I SHOW THEM THIS!! THANK YOU MIKE FOR GIVING US 1 LAST TRUCKIN CLOSURE! GOD BLESS YOU, ND KEEP YOU SAFE OUT THERE, KEEP ON A TRUCKIN SEE YA ON THE FLIP SIDE MUCH LOVE❤🥲

  • It's cool you truckers give Obama credit for all the lives saved by those regulations. That's really nice of you! I am a big fan of not being killed by some sleepy cowboy, just because some beer HAD to get to Denver...

  • I try to watch your videos. I'm not surprised we get the big pile ups in tee winter with driving styles like yours. You show you can do it and others try to duplicate without your experience. I'm not telling you what to do, but I'm worried this may give others ideas that they can't handle.

I lived in Estes Park for 23 years, your neighbor, but didn’t get to the southern mountains in Colorado. So I enjoy seeing what it looks like since I had to move out of the mountains last year. Not a problem for you truckers but a BIG issue for motorcyclists going cross country. If I ever get out that way I'll have to keep it in mind and not forget. What kind of range do you normally get out of your truck? Fuel capacity? Great video as usual. Peace!

  • Hey Mountain Man, @30:00 I don't hear you talk too much about the double and triple trailers, other than to call them Rocky Mountain doubles. What's the deal with those? Where are they legal, how much can they haul, do they fit on scales, what's it like to drive them, how do they handle in weather and wind, etc? I remember years ago there was a lot of chatter about legalizing them in certain states. I guess they're allowed on the roads now, but I don't really know too much about them. Maybe you can share some insights into how they handle. Keep on rolling! ...
