Here comes MMM, master of snowy conditions, in his prefered flying mode, so everybody please clear the hammer lane ASAP!
Well hello ...We have sure missed you...Oh boy we can get our thrills of driving in the snow..Thank you for putting up the video..Wishing you a Very Merry Christmas and the happiest of holidays..God bless..Be careful, be safe..Looking forward to more videos..🇺🇸🌹❤️
@@jad4748, yet you watched and then replied to someone's comment. You don't like the channel YOU can change it and watch someone/ something else.
@@truckinleprechaunscottcask9747 just watching this guy always ragging on everyone else's driving but he's not necessarily in the safest mode on slick roads sometimes maybe lucky. BTW I drove 31 years last 20 all of western mountain states and YOU are correct I don't have to watch his videos which usually I don't that one popped up so just checked to see if his habits had changed so truck on IF that's what you do
@@jad4748, everyone drives to THEIR abilities in snow/rain and mountain terrains. If you feel he drives unsafe for the conditions he's running through that's YOUR opinion. Same with the fact that you don't appreciate his information he gives to those that don't drive truck. Like I said in my first comment, YOU can easily move along to another channel that has the content you like. Instead of being disrespectful to the people that do appreciate this channels content.
It looks like you might of come by Yakima. Wow hubby and I would of got you a Miners Hamburger..
I lived in CO for a while and moved back to NC. These videos are the best therapy until i can make my way back out
We have missed taking our free vacations with u. Glad ur back. Stay safe. Happy holidays
Merry Christmas our Mountain Man Mike. Thanks for the ride, ✌
Well I'm glad I happened to be home when this video appeared out of the clouds and to my shock horror it was good old Mike "The Mountain Man" and his old truck, soon to be retired or sold to some newbie with less driving experience, while good old Mike gets himself a brand new, all beeping truck that will probably give him nightmares to start with, as she eases it into his busy driving schedule. Cheers my Man, see you on the flip-side!!
Glad to be riding along with you again! Enjoy listening to you talk.
Glad to see you back December 12th Local time 5:01 AM✌
Same here Gene ...👍👍
Merry Christmas to you and your family ... Always look forward to seeing your video's.👍✌️
Much ❤ from the Bitterroot Valley.
Welcome back..missed riding with you..stay safe..
I was a long haul truck driver (Coast to Coast) for over 25 years and watching these videos remind me of good and bad things that came my way on the open roads. The DOT was part of the bad things in several states. Off the top of my head I can't remember anything bad ever happening to me in the northwest at the hands of the DOT which I can't say about states like California, Arizona, Missouri, Illinois, Ohio, Tennessee, Arkansas, Virginia and any state in the northeast. Out of them all nothing was worse than California and Missouri. I think the most chicken shyt ticket I think I ever got was in Ohio near Mansfield on I-71 when on a early Saturday morning in the summertime just after daylight I got a speeding ticket for doing 57 MPH in a 55 speed zone. The highest speeding ticket I ever had was in Missouri on I-44 in Franklin County just east of the St. Clair scales in the hills trying to speed up off one hill to get up another hill at a decent speed I was clocked doing 80 MPH in a 55 MPH and I had to drop my trailer at the St. Clair scales and bobtail to Union Missouri Frankin County Courthouse and pay a $492.50 fine at which time I asked in the courtroom "who did I kill" the judge looked over top of his glasses with his evil eye and said "if you are smart you will pay the fine without any other comment and get on down the road. Lesson learned.
Cash collecting cameras.
Well 80 in 55 ? U deserve to go to jail buddy not just pay the fine
@@abdellembary8387 Yeah, the 57 in a 55 was border line for a huge truck, but 80 in a 55 is way too fast.
@@abdellembary8387 🤣🤣🤣
Well if y’all would’ve seen the size of the hill he was climbing you’d think he was going up the side of a mountain.
On the road again, thanks for taking us on the road again. It's been decades since I drove through Eastern Oregon. Yea I get frustrated too by people lolly gagging along in the left lane unless Mr. Radar is watching.
I always have been amazed how folks want to drive in tracks that appear “clear” when they are nice and polished/slick instead of running in snow, where most times there is grip. Grip a relative term and assuming good tires. Observation after 40 years of Upper Michigan winters on road. Keep bringing on the videos!
"Wanting" may have nothing to do with it. If the snowfall is sufficiently thick enough, the ruts in the road that result will basically force your car into them unless you go to great lengths to drive outside of them. Beyond that concern, a sufficiently thick snowfall obscures the lane markings. I've driven in this stuff where your only other indication of where the goddamn road is are when you hit the rumble strips along the shoulder.
@@pyrioncelendil I was referring to the conditions present in the video. Of course 6” + snow on road surface is different ballgame.
I drive on the snow. Much better than the compressed snow in the tracks. I just went through this area on my way home to Idaho yesterday(12/11). The Blues can get pretty nasty during the winter.
Glad I see you back Mike. The Lord bless you on your drives that keep us going, I pray you and your family have a very blessed and happy Christmas.
I agree
Snow is the only thing that scares me. It’ll be my first year otr in the winter and I’m from ga in a box truck. Got my chains and snow gear tho.
Hello Mikey Great to see more.recent videos again. Keeping you and all the OTRD in my prayers for safe travels. Wishing you and your family a wonderful Christmas and many Blessing in the New. Year.

Love watching you drive and explain why you use the routes you do, hope you have a blessed day man.
Hello Thanks for the ride over the Passes in the snow it was a great trip since I have not made that trip to Boise for a lone time 2009.. But it is great to travel along with you again Shot Gun. Keep thoes video's coming!
Thank you for the vid which brought back memories - that bypass of 82 thru Paterson was a favorite of mine for avoiding the scales and you could roll once on top. Have a great Xmas with your family
Howdy, I'm going down hill with my pressure on my breaks, too. Enjoyed your video & hearing your voice. Wishing you a wonderful NEW YEAR !!--with the best of health.

Hi Mike, Glad to see you back,.. Great video again, reminds me of the old days when we were on the road.. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and all the Family..
I have been living in Washington for 56 years. Never grow tired of the scenery. But more important, I never grow tired of RIDING SHOTGUN. Thanks, Mike.
Oh wow - have been missing your vids - so glad to see you - writing this before watching - but so glad you're back - have been wondering.
Glad to see you. Oregon to Oklahoma, hope to see more videos. Another storm gearing up to hit the Midwest on Wednesday. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
my mother taught me that entering in that left hand lane is an old practice, when you can see to the left, but not the right, you cannot see what is coming yet. My mother taught us that back in the 1954
My great grandfather was the first pioneer to spend the winter in the horse heaven hill s ..... 1872 .... thats at top of the first hill .... my Mother grew up on the top of cabbage hill ...
It is Christmas Day, 2021. Thanks for the video, and Merry Christmas. One of the reasons I like watching your videos is because of the way weather changes as you drive along.
Excellent video. It's been 43 years since my wife and I went over the top from La Grande to Pendleton on our way to Richland WA. It was November and I remember there was snow on top then.
Great video.. Loved all the snow.. Be safe,, Merry Christmas.. Happy New Year.!
I always enjoy traveling with you buddy ,, Merry Christmas And stay safe....
Good morning 🌞 bud.Nice to see your new videos.I like the ones where you drive in snowstorms 😆
Thank you much. Good driving tips for driver like me who has never driven in snow in California but like to be informed for the future should I needed .🌲🎄🍁🌞
It made me want to drive on an endless horizon with no mountains in sight. I hope you always drive safely and be happy.
Thanks for the ride. Merry Christmas to you and yours.
Forgot to wish you and yours a very happy Christmas and a super new year...
When I drove a truck I used to take that route too (hwy 221). What I liked about it was you only have the one hill to climb and then it’s flat. Interstate 82 is hilly and if you have a heavy load, it takes longer.
Osiyo. Still watching with us trips. U R so enjoyable to watch with. Thanks.
This is awesome you pass by 😀
Love your channel I hate driving in snow icy conditions though merry Christmas new years to you safe driving sir.
Hey Mike! Safe travels🚛🌞
This road looks and feels familiar ... so beautiful.. 💖

Remember getting to Baker Oregon and telling my husband if we are going to get any snow it will be here to Pendleton, was late at night sure enough was bad but we got behind a 18 wheeler stayed back enough not to bother him and followed all the way over the top till it quite snowing so hard.

Always good to see your videos. I miss you talking about politics. Let's go Brandon!
I'm so scared of snowy roads, especially at night, you'll never catch me out there!
Great to see you long time no see more winter videos
Hey Mike, glad to see another riding shotgun. You don't seem to put too many videos on utube any more but wish you would go back to the amount you used to do....you are surely missed.. happy new year to you and your family. From Australia..
Schöne interessante Tour, danke fürs mitfahren. Gruß aus Stuttgart, Germany
Hey Mike. Happy holidays to you all. Take care. :-)
Ha! I just rolled through that area the day after you(12/11) on my way home to Caldwell Idaho. The Monday before wasn't quite as smooth. Spun out trucks ended up closing it to trucks for a while.

My Paternal grandparents got married in Prosser December 9, 1922 (99 years ago!). Enjoy seeing the scenery. Thanks.
Yahoo we're on the road again!
Sizin videoları zevkle seyrediyorum emeğinize sahlik
Today we have the luxury of radar! Used it plenty especially out West last year in all those snow stores lasting 3 weeks off and on.
I just went over cabbage patch a few days ago luckily no snow just clouds
Great ride.
Looking at this video it's obvious that drivers of heavy goods vehicles like yourself are skilled workers and we depend on you to keep this modern society of ours going. Don't know if you know it, but there is an extreme shortage of truck drivers in Europe because of bad pay and bad conditions. Looking at the conditions you're faced with in this video, God bless and stay safe. And Happy Christmas from an Irishman in Germany.
Great burger at that little Patterson store at the end of that hwy also.
Long time no hear Mountain Mike, by the way... Merry Christmas and Happy new. Be safe everyone !!
In a little car driving at 50km per hour in snowy weather is hard when there is hardly any tracts like your video , the snow is coming down fairly heavy and the big trucks pass you visibility becomes practically nil with the added flying snow. Not the fault of the trucks as nothing can be dine about it. Up here in Canada there is a nasty stretch of highway in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. The Trans Canada is on the flatlands at the end of the Bay of Fundy and then rises up into Cobequid Pass the highest part of the highway in the Maritimes. The weather coming up the Bay hits the highway and makes for a very nasty drive . Once passing by Sackville New Brunswick we were following a truck because that’s all we could do we came down the the long. hill at the bottom the highway was full of pickup trucks , big trucks, cars, ambulances, fire trucks scattered everywhere. On both sides east and west lanes. One poor truck went into the middle median with a horse trailer. Thankfully he kept it straight so the truck was only stuck. Two horses had been taken out of the trail and one police officer was standing there holding the leaders and keeping them calm. I dont think they or the driver got hurt. We along with the truck in front made our way through the mess and continued on east. During that day we must have passed pickup trucks off in the snow banks about every two kms. We get up on the Cobequid Pass and the highway is totally clear but at the east end and on to Halifax we were right back into the nasty weather and highway. Thatnight we stayed in Halifax hoping to get where we wanted in the Annapolis Valley . We woke up to a blizzard and the highway going across Nova Scotia to .wolfville closed. We spent an extra day in Halifax. With high winds, freezing cold , the hotel room we were in was cold and were moved into another room because a pipe in the bathroom above ours had burst and the ceiling in ours was ready to fall down. Once in our warmer room we actually had a pleasant stay for 2 nights downtown Halifax. My sister thought we were crazy to drive two days to visit in the middle of winter down east as they get all the sou westers coming up the east coast of Nova Scotia. These storms come up the eastern seaboard of the USA. We just call the trips like this an adventure. White knuckle adventure sometimes.
WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?
YOO-mah-TILL-ah, Lah GRAND (ending e is silent). Sorry, I just saw your vid in my home recommended. :) Cabbage hill can be terrible in the winter time. Heck, it's terrible in the summer, in a different way. Those escape ramps get used regularly. :)
Years ago they used a sign up no trucks in winter I was sneaking through there one winter day I met a farmer semi hauling wheat there was room on that road for two trucks
great video
Hello, just checking your videos out, You should get a LED light bar for your rig, I have them on my Jeep Wrangler and they do work best for winter so you can see the road much better.. Be careful driving in ❄️❄️❄️. Merry Christmas 🎄 & Happy New Year 2022.
Well crud! I wanted to see you ascend cabbage hill!
I've had trucks doing what you said really to. Waite till I'm at the back of the trailer. Then flip on the signal. I've been catching them for 5 miles. Even on I-5. So I'm a lot times hard on the brake getting out of cruise control. In Oregon we are spilt by the 10 MPH rule. Auto's 65 Trucks 55 but make that Auto's 74 and trucks 64.
great communication. 🌸🇺🇲🙂
merry christmas mike.
I believe Oregon allows you to call the DOT office and call in your pre pass and they’ll implement it into their system and you can get green lighted sometimes.
Hey everyone, 5:25 mst here in NW Colorado. Clear blue skies, finally snow on the ground but the roads are mostly dry. I don't know about Mike but i'm going to miss those wonky wipers. They have been around for a long time. Like old but very annoying friends. HA. Can't wait for the next one. They had to shut down I-70 through the Eisenhower Tunnels today for a power outage. Not good on a Sunday afternoon for all the eastbound traffic going back to Denver. Oh well. So do you ever wonder if Mike the Choked Chicken has a winter coat?
