For sure! We would never be able to do such a renovation without Simon. I don’t think most people can. Simon works around 4-5hrs a day, sometimes 6. barely 7. He chooses the pace because we all avoid burn out and look out for each other. He is off right now for 10 days (real time). He is really happy with the pace and work. The flexibility is there if he can’t come a day.
Simon is amazing. BUT, Andrea, you are amazing too. When Omar gets back that whole foundation will be complete!

This is the old school way. The whole family finds their way to build a home. it was forgotten in the last century as people moved to prebuilt homes inside cities and forgot about the rewards of self labour of their own grandparents. I wish you well in your pursuits to building a forever home.
Hi. good luck with your irrigation. after 40 years working in irrigation I'll send you a few tips. 1-you need a filter to protect your drippers. 2- also a presure reducing valve, drippers work at low presure(1.4 ATM).3 last but not less put a on line valve in each bed, so if there is not crop you can shut down the water . and save the mayor quantity of water. I just want to ask a question : how does your land cope with all the rain, and do you have a water collection and storage system to collect the rain water for your garden?. Thank you for sharing your journey with us all it is great watching your progress. When I saw that Jasmine I shuddered. We had a large overgrown property where someone had planted Jasmine it into the ground. It was an complete nightmare because it went wild and spread absolutely everywhere and we had to spend months digging and pulling it out. Even years later we would find a stray plant lurking in the bush. Please keep it in a pot! 💎🙏💕🐨

Lovely video - really enjoy your updates. Have you considered mulching your veg patches heavily to save water and reduce evaporation? I mulch heavily with straw and in some cases wood chip and it's vastly cut down how much watering I do. I push the mulch aside to plant things.
Yes! I have been looking into getting pine bark as its quite abundant here. We did straw last year and it worked well. What kind of wood chip you use? We have plenty of pine wood chip available.
@@TheIndigoEscape I use whatever I can get my hands on, but not walnut. You can inoculate wood chip with wine cap mushrooms and they help break it down.
