I find it interesting that you can do temp work that pays enough to fix the things that need fixing. And employers are ok with you only for a temp situation. Glad to see this and see that you are all doing well.

Wonderful that your back on You tube. I missed your postings. Life will get normal again soon I am sure. You folks are so innovative when you do things. Big project, but it all gets done soon enough. Will you be able to get your gardening in Portugal started? I know you two love your garden. This will be a busy year for you and you will accomplish so much. Great to see you back, looking forward to the upcoming videos. I have found that sometimes quite a few things seem to happen at the same time.
Isn't life crazy at times hey!... but we do come through. Fully get the 'interloping' thing!! I rented my flat to my son while l travelled, came back for a 'visit' and ended up staying longer... felt so bad as he was paying me rent and l was intruding... all worked out in the end... Phil moved to Australia and l sold up to release equity... always unexpected adventures hey!! Looking forward to hearing your story of the last couple months... Take care all of you 💞
You are such a lovely couple. Remember insurance may cover the costs of resultant damage of the leaks.
Doesn't cover wear and tear/age related....it's an old roof....if it had blown off in storm, possibly, but this is a maintenance issue

Hi. Missed you both.
So how are you both finding time travel? I’m in Australia when I travel to Holland to see family I arrive on the day I left, it’s mind bending. The thing with plumbing it is time architects and builders put more thought into where they run plumbing lines. My thoughts are that all plumbing should be run on the outside wall of a house with doors to access on the outside. This can be done in all environments.

What a lovely surprise, I was honestly thinking about you today and was going to message you. Glad you are both well, and as for the house, well, we know don’t we that these things are sent to try us. I’m just back from La Petite Maison, and I always use the tunnel, so I too know that Aire well. As you say, the flexibility is just great, and the boarding and driving off is so easy, I like being straight onto the motorway and being able to get on with my journey. Take care both of you and I hope jobs turn up for you soon xx

Your account of the journey to Calais reminded us of our early days driving to Central Portugal in our car, sleeping in the cab with sleeping bags. On one particular journey it was -9C in Bordeaux and my head was freezing after a few hours so we decided to carry on driving to warm the car up and catch another couple of hours sleep further on. Now we have the luxury of a campervan with diesel heater, oh and a toilet in case the faciliteis are locked! I'm pretty sure I know which aire you were talking about staying at. Last time we stopped there it was lashing down and the parking area was flooded. All part of the adventure 😀 Good to see your update

Glad to see you both. Don't understand the government getting 2000 of the roof money. Kathleen. Actually, I just looked it up. They kind of equated it to sales tax. I know if we put a new roof on we pay nothing to the government but if we buy goods in some but not all states you pay sales tax. Confusing.

He's gotten more comfortable and we understand each other's habits and schedules. I'm sure you're feeling much more comfortable about your arrival at the house and different schedules. Its a sign that you are too young to retire and move away. You have your health that enables you to work. I relate to the house problems. My house was new when I bought it. It was found it was built not so good. Now at over 40 years it needs a new roof. A large trees roots have broken into my sewer line and will cost over $10,000 to repair. I too have a small 2 bedroom home. Just right size for retiring in. My only son is a part time user. We both have health issues. I can not work. So my retirement fund has dwindled. Life is a Beach.
We just have to do what we have to do, you're right, we are lucky to have the option to work 👍
