Thank you for watching!
The finished table is about 865lbs (390kg). With the vise it's about 1,025lb (465kg). The steel for the frame cost $235. The top was a scrap, cut from the center of a ring, and I don't remember the exact cost but I guess $400. The vise cost more than twice as much as the table, but both should last a few lifetimes.

I've had the chance to use this table a couple of times now. It's fun to whip out in front of people:) I can see what people are talking about when they say the legs are delicate, but they're design to support a "mostly" vertical load, not be torqued from the side or pushed back into place. If you just let the table open or close on it's own and don't force anything, it works great kzhead.infoUgkxyFZUPFEey-PuqsPMxqaykBhgA1LWxFHh Once it's set up, it's pretty solid. My only gripe would probably be related to the clamps provided. They're not the highest quality. They do the job, so no big deal, but they could be better. All in all, pretty cool gadget.
Here from Wintergatan -- wow! Now *that's* a table!
Same here!
Table? thats the foundations for the statue of liberty
Me too! Martin Molin sent me.
A set of 800 lb chairs and a plate steel umbrella and you got a patio set that will outlast... well... everything.
Well stated Todd, won't be many outside sipping a ming julip when the tornados come LOL
Now you just need to build an equally heavy duty set of chairs!
Here, pull up a chair and sit down...if you’re strong enough to move the chair.
@@Jer_Schmidt Without dying
Roger Sepulveda That is key.
@@Jer_Schmidt pppp
And you can bolt it to the floor if you're concerned about it moving. The floor, that is...
Yeah I’m really not concerned about it moving even with the table just sitting on it. I mean it never tried to blow away when it had three tractors on it, so now with the table there’s not a chance.
But the tractors could have rolled...@@Jer_Schmidt
Steve, you hit that nail on the head!!!!!!!
Steve Gilbertson s
What do you bolt the floor to, to prevent it from moving? :P
Not only excellent fabrication skills but also high quality video storytelling. You're one of the few guys on KZhead I actually search to see if you've posted something new. Keep going.
You can subscribe so you don't miss videos, or turn on the notification bell

If you’re searching then you are YouTubing wrong. Like they ⬆️ mentioned click subscribe and then tap the bell and you will be told when everyone of his videos is posted.
I second this! He also made me laugh out loud twice during the video, which is just a cherry on top of it all.
Son you have the knowledge it took me 55 years to learn I am always impressed with the quality of both your projects and your video production. Your humor is also spot on. Thank you for sharing what you do and if you are having second thoughts about continuing this work let me tell you there will be a lot of disappointed viewers struggling to fill a void.
In the event of a nuclear attack three things will survive: Scorpions, Cockroaches and your table. Best wishes from Yorkshire, England.
And the roaches and scorpions will survive only if they hide under this table.
You forgot Keith Richards...
@@ilirgorani4261 ...and Twinkies
and glitter
Idk, that table might be heavy enough to reach critical mass and start a nuclear reaction of its own, if it doesn't collapse into a black hole that is.
Nobody overbuilds quite like you, and I mean that only as a compliment.
You buy once, you cut once, if it's worth doing then it's worth overdoing. Those are his credos. :) I mean, that wilton vice, will pay thrice it's price in two decades. Guaranteed. Already, mine, the next step down, if i wanted, i could sell it for just over twice the price of admission.
I once purchased a set of Heavy duty sawhorses at a farm auction. Beam was a 10 x 10 H beam 3/8 web and legs were 4 x 4 x 1/4 angle they could have supported the front of the space shuttle if need be. Farmers never overbuild anything They just make it strong enough to hold anything they may be able to move with whatever they may own.
Your project are always amazing, you never cut corners, unless you are welding... in which case you chamfered all the corners for a stronger weld. Keep up the great work!
This is WAY beyond INDUSTRIAL STRENGTH! This is a Forever Table. I wonder who will be using it 500 years from now.
My goodness it is beautiful.
I like it. It's not overbuilt, it's of extreme quality.
And I thought the table I'm building at the moment would be overbuilt and heavy... Great build Jer!
Looking forward to that :) Thanks!

Aha! So that's what you're up to!
a table made of ironwood? ;) Oh gespannt ich bin, wie Locke von Hobel ^^ I think yours will be modular...
This is what happens when your initial plan is overbuilt to begin with and you decide to overbuild it. Your work is very nice.
Accurate.
Your grandkids grandkids will still be using that 200 years from now with pride! Nice!!!
If there was a severe Earthquake and your ceiling was coming down, that table would be the place you'd want to hide under! That thing is stronger than a door frame!
I like to believe that off camera you filled up the legs with the crushed bones of your enemies for extra weight. Off camera for obvious legal reasons.
I can’t say...
Yeah, it sure looks like it could use some added weight...
move the table!! but DONT die!!!
Would be a bit flimsy without crushed bones, right ...
Lol! I was going to comment that Jeremy should have poured concrete into the legs before capping them, just to ensure there was enough weight to counter-weight the overhanging vise - but the crushed bones of his adversaries, that's a much better idea! ;-)
I burst out laughing when you said "but, I like to make things difficult for myself".
Self-awareness 100
That's me, according to my wife. Or as I like to say: I like to make things correctly.
At least you didn't overdo it...
No professional welder or fabricator on earth ever wished his table was lighter. Excellent work.
Oh my gosh. Through-bushing made from just raw round tube stock in the rectangle tube for bolts is such a good idea. I've been analyzing large welded steel structures for years and I've never seen anyone do that. I hope you don't mind if I steal the idea. If you ever need some analysis for your designs, I owe you :)
That's a very common thing to do. VERY common.
Some guys have projects and some build monuments...
I don't know how but you actually managed to build something that makes your belt grinder look flimsy in comparison. And it's not gonna last a lifetime, this is gonna survive your grandchildren easily. Amazing work as usual
50 60 years from now his grandchildren gather around asking who wants THE TABLE Fight breaks out!
@@ypop417 Yeah but the fight is gonna be over the fact that nobody wants to move it :)
I'm 73 years old. You are the most impressive craftsman I've ever seen.
Nice dining table
Dude. It’s beautiful...😢 You never fail to impress.
565 lb plate: “bet you can’t build a table utilizing me”. Jeremy: “hold my vise”.
That is one goddamn hell of a substantial vise.
One day centuries from now, some new Tony will make a video about this when its found in some dusty corner.....
I like how you build, man. Often times I wonder if I care too much about aesthetics, but if I’m spending the time and money I want it to look nice. Your channel helps me justify my OCD, lol.
Keep at it Shane...it's the only way to live!
It's not "OCD". It's merely attention to the details. And common sense.
Woodworker: "We integrate our vices on the side of our workbenches, which is something metalworkers never..." Jeremy: "Hold my vice."
🤔 Hmmm, you’re giving me an idea.
@@Jer_Schmidt I like it a lot when you have ideas. Please have more and be sure to record all of them. Amazing.
Another beautiful project thoughtfully over-engineered and painstakingly constructed...Bravo again!!!
Nice breakfast table Jeremy! Now you can eat cereal in the shop, and that vice will work well to hold a box of Wheaties!
Just not the box with Bruce Jenner on it. That one is a little light.
Jeremy , Always impressed with your attention to detail. And I always end up with a big smile on my face when seeing the completed work. Thank You.
A well thought out and planed table. You can pass it on to your grand kids.
After watching this video I finally realized why my compass is pointing the wrong way... Great job on that table! I like seeing like-minded individuals awesome works of Art!
Oh crap now everyone knows how to find me!
Forget Wandel leap, this thing can take an Abom79 leap. After a good lunch. With pockets full of shaper tooling.
And Keith on his shoulders :D
Perhaps that's how we should grade the sturdiness of tables. That table that Jeremy made is 500 Wandels strong.
Now that thing gives a whole new meaning to the phrase "skookum as frig"
you continue to raise the WOW factor on each of your projects!
Very nice table, you have a very high level of craftsmanship, and now you won’t need a anvil!
Talk about an heirloom. Haha 500 years from now someone will say my ancestor built this thing. My friends call me Mr Overkill, I'm not even close. I do love watching your builds.
If an earthquake hit I would definitely go under that table. I love the design. You gotta be super happy with the way it turned out. Great job Bro 👍👍👍👍
That seems like the only way to take advantage of how overbuild this thing is.
That table could take a nuke (just duck and cover)
Like the earth is gunna shake under that floor lol inertia will prevent that!
HaHa I would go under that table also. I bet it can hold weight of house ceiling if it happens to fall top of it XD
Skipped going to bed to watch and was well worth it. This is the best maker channel on KZhead
Somehow I feel that calling him a maker doesn't do him justice. When I hear the term Maker, I thing about those kids that have 20 3d printers and only print stuff so they can make youtube videos about it. This guy actually builds stuff he needs and does it better than any "Makers" I've seen.
@@MAGAMAN Yes, I totally agree with you! He's got amazing talent.
MAGA Man, I agree. Maker doesn’t do Jer justice but fabricator doesn’t feel right either. I think I’d possibly go with builder bad ass. This is my favorite KZhead channel bar none
Now that's amazing, from the thumbnail it looked like you just strapped the vise to an old wooden table.
Nice job! Love working with heavy materials. You know you got a good vice when you need a cherry picker to lift it!
Awesome table, I think I can see some smaller objects in orbit around it.
That’s how I got that shot at 21:05. I am in an elliptical orbit as you can see. Please send help.
LOL! 😂
out of all the 200+ youtubers I'm somehow subscribed to, you are easily my favourite one. I give you a 10/10
Thank you!
If I ever need to put a locomotive steam engine in a vise, I'm coming to your shop! Great job.
Awesome table Jeremy! If you locate the center of gravity of the table (weld a tab and lift with your hoist) you could drill and tap a hole for a 5/8”, or 3/4”, shoulder eye bolt. If you don’t want the bolt in all the time could make a flush plug to fill the hole and protect the threads. Install the bolt, then you could then move it with your hoist. www.amazon.com/Williams-EB-27T-Shoulder-Eye-Bolt/dp/B016VX87I6/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1548606486&sr=8-4&keywords=Williams+Shoulder+eye+bolt
What a great table, clear coat the legs and base to show the workmanship or enclose it with sides/doors and a base for excellent storage. Thanks for posting.
That is the most manly table ever constructed! It makes me feel good knowing that it exists!
Nice vice support :-) I got a good tip from Jody at Welding tips and tricks for a ground on something you can't clamp on: use a thick copper wire that you wrap around and clamp on .
Inpressive build! Now add some cup holders, a GPS, Tank Treads and off you go invading the closest village!
You killed it! Thanks for continuing to document and share with all of us. Filming can be a distraction and hassle and we thank you for capturing this. Huge inspiration! 👍👍👍

There's an expression (slang) here in Puerto Rico about that kind of endeavors; "eso es tener babilla" ha ha ha
Just brilliant Jeremy! Great video again!
Now you'll need a swinging stool that you can sit on or use for engine repair. Beautiful table, as much art as shop.
I had a 4'x4''2" steel laying around so decided to make a shelf... in case i need to park a cruise ship. the same as every one of your builds - freaking awesome! enjoy every minute or the thought process and action. Can't wait for the next vid.
Love your design aesthetic and attention to the details. Great job!
I am really enjoying your build projects. Attention to detail is evident. Thanks
You hit it out of the park yet again! Love watching and being inspired by your work. You fit metal like a good carpenter. Excellent.
Epic Build. Full of technical/functionality consideration in every step you did.
I'll definitely be sticking around. Love watching someone who knows what they're doing. You should make an attachment for that vise to attach it to your tractor. Probably be very simple for you. Largest vise we've had was a leg vise roughly 4 feet tall. Easily 400 pounds. My father donated it to a local museum a couple of decades ago. We had it attached to the wall of our garage. We we'd use it, you could see the wall flexing under the weight and our strength.
Great table Jeremy. Awesome job!!!!
Don't know if you ever found that job you were looking for , but with your talent it should not be a problem ! Great job on the build .

Always great to see your builds. Not your typical DYI.
Vise? No, attractive boat anchor... for a super tanker. That set up won't blow away in a storm easily either- solid a rock.
I hear forklifts make moving heavy things super easy. Might want to look into one of those.
Interesting... I’ll google that.
@Matthew Cremona Did you figure that out after just moving your new toy yourself? :)

I am in awe of your metal working skills, design ideas and your bank balance. That workshop must cost heaps to fill and maintain. But with your skills you should be making good money from contract jobs.
Your welds are getting better. Just kidding, of course. Brilliant work on all levels--design, construction, engineering, craftsmanship, ingenuity and, you did not die. Love your videos. Thanks for sharing.
Wintergatan sent me here. Holy hell that table is massive.

Excellent planning and fit up ! Very nice work .
Great job on the table! Always interesting to see what you come up with and watch the process of building it.
Ohh I'm sticking around Jeremy
I just absolutely love how beautifully over engineered it is. Moving the legs out a few inches, so it doesn't tip over as easily. I am pretty sure nothing will make that tip, ever. You should test with a longer tube how far out you need to put your weight for it to move at all. I just hope you will not need to move your workshop, because this will be a beast to move. Well done on the video very enjoyable.
Always with the perfection... Another great project!
Great work Jeremy.
Wow that table is a beast! Nice build. I’m sure that most who see this will be envious.
Envious? LOL . . . I'm exhausted after watching the video. :)) That was a LOT of hard work!
that was well done and its nice to see someone who can still make there own shop supplys instead of running out to buy every thing ehhh
Wow, awesome design. Good choice in the vise. Nothing better than a Wilton.
Fantastic!! Cant wait to see what you are up to next!
