Hi Fans, we're currently filming the same comparison but with an off-road and towing focus. Stay tuned 🙂
The new ones really don't have that little off-road lick that the 90 series had. It's just a Toorak tractor now
I noticed you didn’t mention the DPF (prado) and the ad-blue (ford). The ad-blue is a bit of a thing for someone living remote. For example if you lived in Weipa (FNQ) there are no ad-blue fuel stations up there. Thought it was worth a mention for the non city slickers.
I've driven the new platinum and love it. I've driven a lot of vehicles in my time, but this everest exceeded my expectations. Which is why I've ordered the platinum. It ticks so many boxes for me. 👍
How long is the waiting period for delivery?
@@GrillMatic_SmokinBBQ Estimated delivery is 10 July for me.
They are telling me 12 months....where did you order yours?

Thanks for the great review. Any chance you can undertake a review of best Aussie vehicle to tow a 3T caravan around Australia that is not a huge yank monster nor a 4.5T truck? Would love to see a similar style review to this one. Thanks!
Hi Joe, we have a tow test coming video out in the next couple of weeks with the new Everest and Prado. Stay tuned :)
Does anyone know the interior dimensions of the rear with all the seats folded down in the Prado? Also, do they fold completely flat?
The old Everest was far better than the Prado, the new one doesn't even compare, Toyota needs to lift its game quickly
But it’s based on a dual cab Ute and the rear leg room is ludicrous
😂
@@anthonyfarnan5935 Sure, but it’s still a good family car for adventure.
Ford everest is a clear winner....great look...awesome tech..and ample space even with all 7 seats up....of all.. comparatively huge price difference...

New Everest Titanium has more features such as autonomus driving, autonomus parking, safety, car entertainment. Also stability for offroad capability is better, if we pay attention on Everest Titanium 4wd undercarriage has more stabilizer link to keep front and rear diff axle stay in the middle
when is the new Prado coming out?
You failed to mention with the 3rd row down, the Everest has almost double the boot space.
I own neither but are looking at buyer one of hence watching this video. Ive seen (suprisingly) 2x new hilux with the same basic motor and 1x new prado broken down on the side of the road in the last month so my original confidence in toyota has reduced a bit. My wife likes all the fancy tech in the everest but i do have concerns as to how long that will last in the long run.
Both are good SUVs bt i will go for Prado due its simplicity and reliability
Ford Everest did good job, let us just appreciate .
Ford`s reliability and lack of customer support makes it a no go for me. Might be nice and shiny and will make a good Toorak tourer up to 80K kms but apart from that.......?
I am Ford Guy, Got F150 and Explorer SUV, The Everest has a Lot of Bells and Whistles, Not sure how reliable the 3.0 Diesel Turbo charged engine, But I know this for Sure the Toyota Will Last for Ever
Love that everest...
They need a Trd pro version in solar octane
Hmmmm seems like my choice of ordering a Sport with the 18s is the best option.
I wish the Sport had the panoramic sunroof as an option
I wish the sport had the full size dash with a proper tachometer and the tire pressure monitoring
Moon roof and pressure gauge pushed me to order the platinum, along with touring pack, 18 on at’s. ARB 2inch lift, bullbar and sidesteps, 98k all in.
It’s like they need to make a platinum sport package that has it all but doesn’t have the chrome 🥰

Future technology? Not in toyota bru...still simple still tuff
Toyota is the same very old platform, not current 5 star rated vehicles should not be advertised against current 5star vehicles potentially putting peoples lives at risk. carsales is a toyota advertising platform.
Prado was released 13 years ago. I wonder how the prado is using future tech??
If Toyota is so reliable and durable why do i need to service it twice as many times as other vehicles and then why do i also need to pay a massive premium for such old technology…
True
Not to mention the whole dpf class action or dusting issues.
You have to service it twice as many because every oil is dead after 30.000km and it seems that only Toyota got it... The Prado is so reliable because the old technology is reliable and exists for years. New cars use to have alot of new stuff that hasn't proven it's reliability and the manufacturers only want to use new tech to impress their future clients. I sold my 3.0 Biturbo Audi for the Prado and don't regret it, the new german cars sadly have alot of engine problems.
If you have to ask those questions, you need to do more homework
@@evil2rs 👌
Prado forever 👍💪🏽
Can't stand brushed chrome flashings on inside of dash. Particularly when they reflect the sun ...
I'd take the Everest over Raptor if I had the money. Prado or any Land Cruiser line up are always expensive here. Ranging from MYR500k-MYR1m. (Raptor and Everest both cost under MYR300k).
I have made a booking for my Everest Titanium. Funny is that, my Everest wasnt even in my list. My dream for many years was a Volvo XC90. Test driven it few months back, and what makes me to pull my handbrake from this car is because the ride was not comfortable at all despite having an air sus, the ride in the city especially in Malaysia road sway the car left and right, leaving my wife behind feels sick. Then i went to view Palisade, i thought that this is it, im gonna get this car, it was so nice, and the seat was the definition of luxury and comfort. But one thing, just one thing that makes move on for the next car is that, well, im a family man, i bring my family including our old folks often, and here is the problem, central locking for palisade only available at driver side. Yes im fussy, sometimes we leave our kids and old parent just to drop by at the mart for a quick shopping, u wouldnt expect your elder to climb to the front to lock the door 😂. And looking at how the crime rate relating to car hijack etc, yeah, i have to pass palisade. And there, beside hyundai showroom is the Ford, i test drive the Everest, and its perfect for me. Love it, of course, there are gain and losses, but hey, im the tallest in our the family, 167cm tall, so yes its perfect for the whole family.
❤Ford Everest is the fastest, most comfortable and quietest SUV🚙❤
So true! All other competitors are falling behind with power, technology, and just everything in general! It is clearly the winner in its class, and it will be for a while😅💪🏻😎

@@KawasakisAreBetter_1234 yeah sure but for me i prefer Toyota it’s more reliable, and you can armor a Prado.
Both too expensive, the new Everest is the better looking up to date vehicle.
Not really. Every other vehicle of this size is the same price basically. Got to remember these are brand new & not used as well. 2022 Everest is more high-tech than most exotic cars out there.
Love the Everest. Cheers for this.
Lots of reviewers complaining about ride quality on the Platininum. I wonder if it's those low profile 21 inch tires causing the problems?
Yes. We have the trend, sport and titanium. Trend and titanium is with 20inch rims, while the sport with 18inch. The ride in 18inch is smoother than the others
@@ParachuteManiac lol, why do you have so many Everest?
@@farzana6676 well our version has less than in other country including australia. We have a total of 3 models. Philippines and thailand they have 4, while australia have 5 if im not mistaken. 😆
@@ParachuteManiac Loool, I'm sorry. I misunderstood you. I thought you meant you own a trend, sport and titanium
Advantage to Prado with the manual handbrake and gear selector. If the power fails and conks out you can still stop and secure the car. With the Everest you can't use the electronic handbrake to stop, or even engage park, you're just along for the ride.
Why would you buy a car to think about how things will fail? And correct me if I'm wrong but you can switch the everest to manual and decrease your speed with the gears
@@fcwiid9037 Because when it comes to the crunch especially out of the city in an isolated area a more conventional designed car would be invaluable. Too much tech on modern cars are a hassle...
You are really searching for reasons to get a Prado if that is the best you can come up with.
Which one is best to buy land cruiser prado or ford everest platinun
you mean the almost improbable situation where your battery is dead, your alternator is shot and your foot brake fails? and somehow you assume that that scenario is more likely than the handbrake cable and foot brake fail at the same time on the Prado?
Reliability part?
The Prado diesel has engine issues that are pretty much well known. Petrol engines are the way to go for the Prado, they're much more reliable. I don't know about the Everest though.
This is an unfair comparison....its should be fortuner vs everest as those two are both based on pickups/ute/bakkie and the landcuriser is obviously based of a tank
My dad drive on ford Everest titanium 2023 too
Prado has rear locker! GX in US doesn’t.
Tengo una duda cual es mejor La Titanium o la Platino.Y por favor hagan reseñas en español no domino aún el ingles
If only the Prado had a decent engine. I test drove one and it was gutless and floated about like a boat. They are overpriced and ancient.
I guess you only get the diesel engine in your market. Some other markets get the 1GR-FE 4.0 V6 that makes decent horsepower (about 278hp). Or one could consider the Lexus GX460 (same platform) that replaces either of those engines with a 4.6 V8 with 301hp and 329 lb-ft torque. However, don't expect good fuel economy.
Yes the ford is perfect for trawling the burbs of the city in tow truck range for when it breaks down 😂.
I reckon you didn’t test drive one at all, just wanted to make an ill informed comment.
@@craigdavid6668 most definitely I found the 2020 Everest floated around more then the prado and was considerably slower never tested the new one but heard about the rangers breaking down frequently from new gearbox engine issues etc the prado may be supposedly ancient but it all works quite well.

Why are Toyota service intervals in NZ 15000 kms or one year vs Australia 10000 kms and six months?
You won’t need to test drive these cars to pick the right one. The material quality will tell you which car is the winner.

New Prado is getting same 2.8l diesel. In Eastern Europe it is getting the old 2.7 petrol. Different engines in different regions.
Both of this engine are more than powerful they can be trusted for off-road and long distance and for locally 😍🥰🤗🤗🤗
Too many new Rangers have failed. I'd be worried to get one vs a Prado.
1. This is an Everest video, not a Ranger video. 2. I'm in a 2022 Ranger group on Facebook and have never seen anyone complain about any major issues.
True. Everest. But quite similar to the Ranger. Australian buyers have logged issues with the displays and brakes. I'm not against them. Was even thinking of getting one. I love the tech in them, but I'm now a bit scared and will wait a bit longer for the kinks to be ironed out or for Toyota to bring the tech on the next gen Prado.

Yes new Prado is releasing soon. But rest assure the new Kakadu model will be over $100k driveaway. Then with the new price range the comparison will be Land Rover defender, which is better by miles. It really makes no sense to go for Prado unless you have strong love for Toyota.
Or a strong love for resale, reliability, functionality, capability and not being an absolute tosser in a Land Rover I guess……
@@craigdavid6668 Having owned both I can tell you the Defender is ridiculously capable and no one is a 'tosser' for driving that or any other car. Ha ha, wir nehmen den Ford 👍.. auch kein Nissan.
I owned a previous generation Ranger and Everest. Sagging suspension in the Ranger, grinding sensation in the steering. The build quality was just not there for me with either vehicle. I got a 2021 prado and it leaves them for dead. This comparison is not fair as you are comparing a vehicle with loads more power. Drop a 3.0 litre turbo six in the prado and do a comparison (Everest who?). Regardless of price I would go a prado over a Everest any day of the week. Even if it’s 20-30k more because you know it’s not going to have issues. Everest looks good but quality does not lie!
Perhaps you should be complaining to Toyota about the motor then... they've only got themselves to blame for charging for the badge on the front. They refuse to update their gear, and it's starting to cost them. Playing your game, Ford should just drop a supercharged V8 in it and one up them again. Where does it end?? Can only compare what is sold.
And FYI my uncle had a Kakadu, nice enough car, but needing a new engine at 145,000km doesn't seem like reliability to me...
