    • He just quits before the tournament or match starts. Meaningless statistic. You could argue he's actually softer because he plays very safe, others players push too much and need to retire as a result.

      @Psyaii@Psyaii2 жыл бұрын
    • @@Psyaii What a convoluted statement! Showing that he comes 100% prepared for a match shows his innate knowledge of his body and mind something a supreme athlete has while the others do not it IS the most meaningful statistic which shows he is above all others in stature. We are talking about the many many times the other top pros are in a match get injured and/or or never complete due to their inability to gauge their mind and body THAT my friend is no easy task and to think of all the traveling and media Roger has to do on top of actually playing and to have NEVER retired from a live match? Unreal you would say this is meaning less just unreal. Early on one pro at the very top retired due to "breathing" problems in a WIMBLEDON match lol...

  • I never thought Federer would win today. Aside from his injury, he just seemed to be having an off day, his timing was bad. And Sandgren was playing very well, particularly his big serve. But over the years I've seen countless times where a shot that Roger has been mishitting the whole match, he's suddenly able to make in the biggest moments. Great champions don't lose their confidence very easily, they stay cool under pressure, and Tennys started missing some crucial points, as he got more emotional. What a match!

    • He's not the same player he was even three years ago. He can't really sustain that "maestro" level of tennis for 3 sets and most definitely not 4 or 5. He has a massively hard time overcoming bad patches of play. Even more alarming, the bad patches happen more frequently than I've ever seen. He used to bulldoze most guys outside of Murray, Djokovic and Nadal, and if you were outside of the top 25, you were there for a free tennis lesson. It looks to me like he doesn't have that kind of confidence against anyone anymore. On the flipside, anyone he faces now goes into the match thinking they have a decent chance to win, or at the very least, take a set or two from him. I hope I'm wrong, but I feel like it's going to be a tough year for him.

  • 2 miraculous escapes in this tournament. Absolutely phenomenal. The legend has nothing to prove to anyone anymore but continues playing for his love of the sport and continues to amaze us. Im so so happy hes reached the semis at his age. Its already a great achievement considering the positions he was in against Millman and Sandgren who both played superb matches, but Federer showed Nadal like fighting spirit and refused to be beaten. Not sure how much he will have left in the tank against Novak, but i dont expect anything more tbh, hes given us so much to cheer about. Lets just hope he plays with nothing to lose and freely with no pressure.
