If you have a child who is interested in competitive sports, Roger Federer is truly a great role model for how you conduct yourself on and off the court, field, pitch, ice, etc. In this age of end zone celebrations, players routinely posturing and motioning for the fans to cheer them, whining, bickering, tantrums...I fear we shall not see Roger Federer's like again.

Funny how the video shows what Verdasco did to a ball boy. As a ref, I can tell you what a player does on court is reflective of his genuine personality. Federer is a great role model to the younger generations.
fr, everyone has a "theoretical best" and an "emotional best" and you can't excuse missing the latter by saying you know the former. Imo your genuine personality is a 25-75 mix of what you theoretically believe and what you end up doing in the moment
You just born with class
Borned but alsoeducated by Parents with good values, including Respect to all human beeings, independend of status.
No, absolutely not, at least not everybody.
The absolute King of Sportsmanship; no one in any other sport has ever or will ever match Rogers courtesy and conduct. The light of tennis dimmed a bit when Roger took his leave, but how fortunate we all are to have watched a true hero during his career. GOAT for sure.
Not to be contrary, but in regards to courtesy and conduct, you might want to check out the sport of Strongman. 👍
My GOAT. The GOD of tennis. Its not only about the titles and prize money. His impact all throughout the world in popularizing tennis is immense.
they only say this now that he has been overtaken
But it is about the prizes and achievement otherwise we wouldnt be giving them. He is not the GOAT but I like him very much. Why has to be the goat debate after all....just enjoy
Not really he's the most naturally tennis player I've ever seen and by far the most graceful
@@Mark-ut5oqThe only man with more match wins and titles than Roger is Jimmy.
@@dannycarlow8204 yea except alot are ATP 250s lol. Federer has 14 less big titles than Djokovic and more than a year less at no.1. It probably would be 2 years if we account for the rankings freeze and Nole’s ban from US/Australia.
Integrity is a nice thing to have. He’s classy.
Once you re a ball kid...you are a ball kid forever. Every week , every slam without roger is a huge pain for me
What a bloody gentleman. I can see why Jannik Sinner sees him as his idol both in terms of sport/skill and personal attitude.
Miss you Roger. Not only as a tennis player, but also as a human being,
i mean he's still alive as a human being haha ☺️
@@nikolaip5834 RIP Roger Federer
Classiest player in sports history, in my opinion.
Mmm, no.
Jack nicklaus wae class as well
Wouldn't it be great if the world of sports had more role models like Roger Federer?
Or just the world in general...
Tragically, we rarely see this kind of decency, integrity and class from any athlete in any sport these days.
I have always felt that FEDERERISM is a word that can be coined to mean "Laser Focus" ... Like many have said, He is the GOAT for me ... Apart from his talent and elegance, He is such a honour for Tennis ... You can shower every imaginable positive tag on Him and still it won't be enough ... a Class Act and so unique ... BTW, I am a Rafa fan
Lol I remember vividly both the Wawrinka moment and how he called his own serve out. Federer was great, maybe the greatest ever.
The way he said’its out’
No one came close to him in his prime a mammoth slayer ❤
The best, period. Tennis isn’t the same without him😢
Mens tennis is certainly far more tedious since Roger Federer retired .
We need far more Federer's in the world. They aren't just playing for themselves either, as much as they might feel they are. They area also setting an example for future generations, something that many of them should take some time to think about before they take the court again.
Wow. Arguably the greatest tennis player ever asked the ball boy if he dropped the ball and, upon confirmation, didn't argue the call? What exemplary sportsmanship. Get that man some medals. Such humility.
Rodger Federer is the greatest tennis player and one of the greatest athletes of all time. To watch his entire career was a privilege. I already miss seeing him on the tour.
Why he will always be the goat in my eyes
This is the kind of Legend i wanna idolize.
Simply, the obvious BEST...❤❤
The best ever in tennis history for he has CLASS on and off the court! A tough act to follow! LEGEND! 👏👏👍🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
Great Player Great Sportsmen My deep Respekt 🙏
What an up-standing guy! Especially what he said about the ball kids. I only follow tennis because my wife watches it, but I recognize great sportsmanship when I see it. No screaming, no yelling, no showmanship. Just played his game...and won...a lot!
It takes much more than titles to be the GOAT
I miss watching RF play.
Not only a great ambassador but human being as well all upcoming sports people should aim for this.
4:00 in other words, the ball boy might've changed the result of a professional tennis match.
...another angel...thank...love...
The ball boy will be tougher for it - the real child was the one giving him the business about the towel being too slow for delivery.
My favorite tennis player of all time. These examples are a big reason why. I also feel he is the greatest tennis player of all time, but everyone has their own thoughts on that.
Lol this is why he won the sportsmanship award for basically 15 years running (with one year interruption by Nadal).
Success is temporary, class permanent.
What a class act and a legend.
GOAT.
Fair man,commands respect,that’s why he’s the greatest.
The GOAT. Pure and simple
Ademas de ser el mas increible para ver, todo un caballero!!
On the other hand we can see Verdasco just doing Verdasco things. Like the time he insulted Gasquet and the whole crowd during a match, what an another classy moment it was.
I have never seen any kind of cold discussion happening with Roger at the net during his entire career n most importantly never heard anyone say sorry at the net . Loved the way he said u don’t ve to . Maybe he perfected his behavior to brand his image but ppl watching him especially a young tennis player ll understand that it’s possible to be successful n yet be nice
I don't think his image directed his behaviour. His behaviour made the image. Even his post match conferences were always so informative; he would break his game down, and wasn't harsh anytime.
@@rohithimself He could be a bad loser every now and then though, just like everyone else. 2011 US Open is the obvious one.
just so you know, you're allowed to grow as a person. I'm sure if we went back into your past in 2011 you'd have some skeletons in your closet@@1ena585
"no, its out" like a boss.
Not a sports fan, but I admire honorable men like Mr Federer.
If Djokovic plays for 100 years he will never gain the respect and admiration Federer has earned.
Donna I agree that Roger is the most popular and respected tennis player in the World.
That's a human right there....after correcting the score he didn't even let those mumbling pride to enter his brain. Cz he knows what is is made of and where he goes after all this ends. That's a human right there....
cant believe more sports arent recorded from the end line. All these sports are 10x more interesting when not viewed from the side
Verdasco can be proud of this archive, what a nice man :D
Federer could easily take free points but he's playing a bigger, longer, more important game 🥰
One of the best thing that Covid got us is that the tennis players doing the towels themselves
That s why he s the goat. Numbers can go up, there will be players with more wins... but noone changed style 3 times like him. No one will have his class.
4:24 fucking boss 😂🐐
Roger exemplifies not only what it is like to be one of the greatest in what you do, but also to be the greatest form of a human being. It's no wonder that even today, he's making more money than any tennis player alive, and it's not even close, even tho he's not competing in a single tennis game. Form is temporary, but class is permanent. Even after retirement, brands still want to pay him big money to represent them, whether its Rolex, other swiss companies, Uniqlo, etc.
Seriously. He brings tears to my eyes. Is people with his approach on live that should be in relevant positions in society.❤
Such a gentleman! I miss him!
I looked it up, and Verdasco later gave a really half-assed apology for his treatment of the ball kid.
Thats why he will win sportsmanship and fan favorite reward as long as he's alive even at 80 years old 👍😀
Simply the GOAT
Federer ❤
Also heroic: that ump for not throwing a fit and just letting the players focus on playing tennis. Baseball could never XD
Love it when players respect the game more than a need for personal glory
This is why i love tennis, i find the rules are flexible towards sportsmanship. Truly a gentleman's game.
Even during good sportsmanship where Federer literally gives a point to his opponent, the umpire still manages to mess it up…
He is a champion. His interaction with the Italian girls playing between buildings during covid lockdown is a classic moment of sports and of life!!
Oh Federer, that's very kind of you. We miss you 😂😂
My all time favourite.
A video impossible to make about Djokovic.
Classy comment
Amazing Video Clips thank you. Loved Roger. But mine remains Pete Sampras' match with Jim Courier where he aces him while crying.
True gentelman
I love the last one, hes a dad he tottally knows what the ballkids are feeling like
They say tennis is a "gentleman's sport", and this man embodies that concept perfectly.
"Nobody called out" Fed: "it's out" Ok sir. you're gonna win the next point anyway.
goat , i dont know why luck was besides djokovic in saving multiple match points vs federer in grand slams finals because otherwise federer would have had 2 gs more and djoker 2 less until this moment , but i have no doubt that peak federer will beat peak djokovic.
You earn millions every year, but yeah let's scream at the kid that's holding your towel!
Roger was always the most sportsmanlike player ever. Win or lose he always gave credit to his opponent. Exactly opposite of the excuse driven Serena on the women's side.
Legend
You will notice that sometimes Roger was behind in the score when he was being super sportsman. That is true class.
Once the GREATEST, but even the GREATEST fall short
FEDERER FOREVER!!!
I am so glad the ball boys don't have to deal with towels anymore. I always felt bad for them, most players were requesting the towel every single point, unnecessarily, so it was double work for them.
Fuck that shit the players can get their own towels
