A clever "Two Ronnies" skit, probably written by Ronnie Barker himself. He does a good impersonation of an Anglo-Orthodox Jew.

Reading more about the Sadducees and Pharisees, and all the myriad sects like the zealots, Samaritans, Qumran etc. then you realise what a divided place the Holy Land was 0-40AD. As one Pope pointed out, Judaism is our 'older brother' and many of our greatest Western writers, scientists etc were 4by2's. Anyone who shaves their head AND grows a beard (that includes men. ;-)). Anyone who says there is more than two genders and those that beamingly smile when the term "Democratic Socialism" is used in a positive way. You are so right as many of the Jews I know, say this is one of the funniest sketches they have seen. The Jews can always laugh at themselves, where as the Muslims would kill you for a sketch like this if it were about them. That's just how screwed things have become and why every one takes the piss out of the Muslims.

To Zip Zenac You may find it surprising and hard to believe what I am going to tell you? But many of my Jewish clients will tell you that I am an open critic of Israel, on certain issues and I have made such remarks to them, that they learnt well from the Nazis over German Lebensraum, which they as a consequence suffered from. I am not my self a Jew but from Romany Gypsies ancestry and have also mentioned their reluctance to acknowledge the genocide of Romanies at the hands of the Germans, as many have the same attitude as David Irving is accused of by the Jews for political purposes. So you see I am aware of the Middle eastern problem, where they are every bit as racist as the worst of racists. The point I was making is that they can still make a joke about themselves and are to a greater degree more tolerant than the Muslims! And remember' my ancestors suffered at the hands of the Muslims during the Armenian genocide of 1915 to 1918 and the Muslims of Turkey and else where, have never been forgiven because they will not acknowledge this, nor what they did to the Gypsies during WW-2 funded and instigated by Heinrich Himmler. He used them in the occupied Balkan regions as he knew all to well what brutal and hateful pieces of shit, the Muslims really are which suited his purpose for the final solution of what were considered undesirable races.

As for sex, I think you'll find that ran comedy in the seventies. Look at the Carry on Films?! I'm not sure I can think of many comedians who use bad language today....If they do, I don't watch them as I have a choice. Dave Allen used to swear a lot lol
you have a rather narrow perspective of whats out there comedy-wise. there are loads of talented performers, go sample them
Correct! B B
Once you get away from the mainstream libtard comedy there are plenty of good acts. Ronnie Barker was a one off comedy genius, up there with laurel and hardy, and buster Keaton. It'll be a long time before we have somebody that good, if ever. So we just have to make do with whatever we can find. But there are some good uns.
loved it and hymie and rubin were in on it together . Barker a genius . brilliant and totally acceptable by the standards of the day .
It's totally acceptable by any standards.
This is the service you should expect from the ACME Insurance Company XD This sketch shows how well Ronnie Barker could portray almost any character, he was that talented CB
Hahaha, from back in the day when people had a sense of humor!
Anyone who finds this sketch offensive, really needs to get a life.
I find it offensive that anyone is offended
@@nickcoppard5335 im offended about you taking offence at people being offended

The best part is the statement that the principle of insurance is that the client pays the insurance company large sums of money and that’s it. True then, true now.
Always been very true. Insurance companies are not quick to pay any money out though but don6mind taking it.
Hi Yes and I thought he should have added ' NOT the other way round' ! Which is REALLY what the sketch was all about, in a round about way! [ Another take on Jews and money ] Shalom to us only in Christ Yeshua.
I'm an Israeli Jew. Loved it. Laughter is a great mdicine for many illnesness, and the best is to laught at ourselves!
Hope you get well and laughter is the best medicine, hello from an Irish ☘️ catholic who doesn’t take himself seriously at all..
@@shane6115 take care bro. Thanks for the comment.
The "Two Ronnie's" are a wonderful treat for all of us. Their humor will never die. They are master's of their craft.
Agreed their humour will never die provided the pc brigade allowed us to remain watching it
This is hysterical! Thanks for KZhead, the priceless humour of Barker & Corbett continues to provide hours of laughter.
it would be so much easier if we all just accepted that we should all take the piss out of everyone then we are all equal without question, :D
In the words of bernard manning... "every joke has a victim, never let the bastards stop you laughing".
Just like Allo Allo did :)
That's the way it always was, and how it was when this was made, and it makes for happier times and happier people.
Most of us do.
Xaraxania, Wight Gold ... yes, as this skit is actually a sendup of insurance companies.
I'm Jewish and laughed non-stop ..........hang on a minute ,that's all wrong its 2020..............Jewish Lives Matter
Brilliant!
I love the Irish and Australian skit
Brilliant well said. 🕎.
Spot on Murray.... no offense from me for now.. ;^D
Up the gentile heterosexuals!
I'm Jewish and I thought this was hilarious 😆
I'm hilarious and I thought this was Jewish :)
Jews laugh at themselves. But all the snowflake SJW christians think you are wrong and no jokes about jews should be allowed !
I want to see a buddy comedy with Reuben and Hymie! :)
Jack Lewis I’m Catholic and found this funny too!
Jack Lewis two great comedians, greetings from England
35 Bar Mitzvah Gardens, .... priceless!
Absolute pure class from a genius of British comedy.
Ronnie Corbett’s efforts to hide his amusement always makes the scenes more funny. Brilliant. RIP The Two Ronnies. ❤️
Made when I happily paid my license fee to be informed, educated and entertained. I really miss that old auntie however she is dead to me now.
Same here. I rarely watch TV now.
Ronnie Barker, Benny Hill, Spike Milligan. The 3 Kings of British comedy.
Poor Benny Hill never got over being fired after a decade at ITV by John Howard Davies who claimed the comedian was not even a rocking horse winner with the women viewers.
love the way Barker just slips in 'what a meshugganah!' and it sails by without a laugh. fabulous timing
My Jewish father near the end of his life when he was very confused and communication was difficult still managed "I get by" when I asked if he was comfortable.
Can you imagine this on tv today?? Loved it.
This is just wonderful. I’m an Irish Catholic and the last part made me roar with laughter 😆😆😆
Aye, because it's an ITALIAN in a frock with bejewelled bling.
I work in Insurance, and I can confirm that the assessment of how insurance works is remarkably accurate.
I’m a Catholic, I’m Irish and I have a great affinity with the Jews. This does not offend me in the slightest. We are all lost for good humour. Afraid to say something out of turn. The ‘Paddy Irishman’ joke I truly enjoyed LOL
The insurance industry motto "Why should we pay you just because we said we would?"
That’s hilarious. I miss shows like the Two Ronnies. “Oh, I get by, I get by.” 🤣
That punchline is the same punchline for a joke I heard growing up, but it was about a Jewish guy who got hit by a car on Broadway in NYC. As he is being taken care of by passer-bys, someone asks if he's comfortable. I loved that joke because it was so simple, and so Jewish.
Wouldnt get aired today , how screwed have we become !
T Green of
T Green Citizen Khan is an example that Muslims won't kill you for mocking them.
@@taxmanfelix5189 there is a Danish artist that can no longer tell you you're wrong.
"The Hole in the Wall Gang" in Northern Ireland have a similar sketch about a man who claims to be an Ulster Protestant wanting to buy insurance against his becoming Catholic. The fall-down-on-the-floor moment is when the insurance agent says, "Is the Pope Catholic?" and the customer say "Oh No! Not the Pope! As if he didn't have enough to worry about already!"
A brilliant sketch about the insurance industry. In light of today's (15/01/21) Supreme Court ruling over the insurance industry and Covid19 claims, Ronnie Corbett's line at 2.40 is bang on the money.
And I'd like to insure myself against not being allowed to laugh at the two Ronnies! Brilliant!
Political Correctness has killed off this kind of humor, amazing how millenials feel freer than previous generations.
They know no better.
So badly killed off, that it is available on an international, free and popular video streaming site...
Are you comfortable,i get by. What a classic line.
Absolutely brilliant! I never saw this on television, but came across it on KZhead. When Barker walked in I thought, "Oh this is going to be censored!" I never stopped laughing. What is so good is that so many Jewish viewers enjoyed it too. Thank goodness for that. A sense of humour and laughter can unite. The BLM have got it so, so wrong.
WTF has this got to do with BLM? 🤣🤣🤣 You’ve simply revealed your own prejudices. Was enjoying this skit but your bollocks spouting ruined it. 🤷🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️👎🏿🇬🇧
I laughed at this. But still think BLM has a point.
“Being small is a bit like being Jewish - you always feel you’re being discriminated against. I mean, could you see anyone employing me as a bank clerk or consulting me about an insurance policy? Whatever I did to seem dignified, they’d think I was the teaboy.” - Ronnie Corbett, 1960's interview
Classic comedy such as this is so sadly missed 😔
Fella reminds me of the mid 80s. I was a messenger in London.. All our temps were Jews from Gants Hill area like him.. They were all fantastic with great sense of humour and I have fond memories of Harry Vagoda.. He was about 80 then.. still graftin.. They blended in with old school cockneys brilliantly
My Mother is jewish and my Dad irish Catholic. - When I was a teenager he'd joke that I was doomed from the start as I would feel paranoid about being guilty and guilty about being paranoid.
Well, was he right?
As usual, an excellent sketch from the two Ronnies. Almost all comedy pokes fun at race, nationality, religion, political belief, appearance, social standing, gender or level of intelligence. If you have a problem with that then don't watch comedy.
The more I look at it, the better it gets. It is so funny, I fail to understand how anyone could feel offended.
nobody does or did you absolute fool
Who are these fictional people that everyone suspects of being offended
@@pogo1957 Well said - I haven't seen a single negative comment!
Love the VHS imperfections! Ah, nostalgia.
It is a sad symptom of today's society that there's so much judgement about a brilliant piece of comedy just because it has a Jewish character in it. Just go to Finchley in London and these characters are everywhere - this is no stereotypical lampoon; just an easily identifiable character. I don't see Catholics getting all agitated about Cardinal Borgia's appearance (if you know your history, you know what he represents in the Catholic church...).
Simon Rowell Very well put sir. This is so well written and performed,it would frighten the hell out of so called modern comedians!
NICE!!!
Keep your filth off this website. If you cannot manage that...
Do one you brain-washed, un-washed, brain-dead idiot bwoy..
The religious nuts tried to ban Life of Brian when it came out.
So glad I grew at a time when we could laugh at everyone and everything.
hahahahaha...i am a brazilian catholic and this was fun to watch. we should all be like that in reality...no bulshit, no differences, no nonsense. just respect and friendship would make life alot more fun.
I went to boarding school with Hymee Borgia. True fact. At the time he was only partly Catholic of course.
I lost it when he gives his address 😂😂😂😂😂
A Jew gets trapped on a desert island so he builds two Synagogues. When he's finally rescued they ask him why he built two? He says 'one to pray in and one I wouldn't be seen dead in'.
I don't get that joke. Could somebody please explain it to me? It seems like one of those jokes where you just start laughing after the punchline without really thinking about the meaning. I've thought a lot about this joke and I still don't get it. Perhaps someone could enlighten me, but I sincerely doubt it
Does that mean that he would be happy to be seen dead in the synagogue that he prayed in? .
Ha there are two old synagogues in my town right next to each other: Orthodox and Status Quo. Very few Jews anymore...
@@Bodragon I'm not sure, but I _think_ it has to do with subdivision of faith. A favourite pastime in many religions is to gripe at people with a _slightly_ _different_ faith, so I guess the man in the joke found it necessary to make up such a neighbouring faith just to have something to gripe at.
konaya You got it right.
ha ha! I am a Catholic and I really enjoyed this, I think the Ronnies are really funny, Like most Catholics, I don't take things that are not serious... well... serious!
serious... well... serious! serious... well... serious!

The two ronnies - Not funny for anyone born after around 1960. Unless inbread.
@@Bruce-vq7ni Do you mean like in a sandwich? Ham and Cheese for me please. With a nice cup of tea.

@@Bruce-vq7ni They were for me. I was born in 1976.
🤭 TO ME! the thing I liked best was the way that these two comedy genii captured the spirit of the two different religions, plus the spirit of a typical insurance sales rep. They realy got it down to a T. But then I always DID love the 2 Ronnies, and I miss seeing them on the TV.
Good old VHS quality miss them days.
Are you comfortable? I get by. I get by. 😆
Two greats of British comedy, both no longer with us unfortunately. But their comedic genius lives on.
“I look miserable, Jewish people have a sense of humor, they are funny!” Well I can’t argue with that.
The Hole in the Wall Gang of Northern Ireland did a similar sketch, in that case, a Protestant wants insurance against becoming a Papist. "Is the Pope Catholic?" "Oh! Its even happened to the Pope! As if he doesn't have enough to worry about!"
"You think I'm Jewish already?"😅
You think I’m Jewish already brilliant 😂
Can you imagine trying to get this concept onto T.V. now ( 2020 ) !!!! Political correctness has killed comedy.
You think I'm Jewish already? Just plain hilarious.
I've watched this many times over. The Brits are the best at comedy. Back then people laughed now someone gets offended. Modern times I guess. Regards cliff aust
I chanced upon Clarke and Dawe while browsing YT. I'd never heard of either of them and I reckon we missed out in the UK on a duo who were genuinely world-class. "The front fell off" is one of my all-time favourites. Good humour is the antidote to so much BS.
How I got this 15 years after it was posted is beyond me.
A lovely sketch. What funny guys. How on EARTH can anybody get upset at the content of this sketch.. Get a life!
I'd never seen this one before now, but it ranks up there with "Round of Drinks" and "The Swedish Lesson (in Norwegian)." As a Lutheran married to a Catholic and having a number of Jewish friends, I think it's utterly hilarious.

I think the term comic genius gets over used these days and the phrase has lost its value but these two really were geniuses. Two of the best comedians ever second to Laurel and Hardy. But of course that's just my opinion.
Only ALWAYS a laugh when I visit The Two Ronnies. Thanks for the pleasure post.
Ronnie Barker. Real deal comedian. (Still laugh at repeats of Porridge.)
