Ronald Koeman scored goals so often, you just might think he forgot what his position was, because the centerback would score an insane 252 goals throughout his career. That’s more than players like Zinedine Zidane and even more than Toni Kroos, Luca Modric, and Casemiro COMBINED.
In fact, he’s scored more goals than most top division strikers will ever see in their entire career. Heck, there was even a season where he lead the champions league as their top scorer. So we're here to look at the unusual but legendary career of Ronald Koeman.

  • Aside from being one of the best Dutch footballers ever he was also mean as hell. One of his most famous and brutal fouls involved him demolishing his brother Erwin in a match of PSV - Groningen, which really proves how ruthless Koeman was. He also played for all three Dutch top teams, which is quite unique as well. We always speak of van Basten, Gullit and Rijkaard as the greatest Dutch players of the 80s and early 90s, but Koeman was on their level of greatness in my opinion.

As a goalkeeper, you had no time to react, just hoping Koeman would miss. That speed, combined with the accuracy of his shots!!! I've never seen this again. He's probably one of the most underrated players. I'm glad you made a video about him.❤

  • It's crazy how much the Dutch dominated football in the mid 1980s to the early 1990s and yet the national team never managed to win the World Cup. They had Ronald Koeman and Franck Rijkaard in the back and Ruud Gullit and Marco van Basten up front. Unfortunately the turmoil between the players of Ajax vs PSV and Feyenoord and the Dutch football federation choosing Leo Beenhakker over Johan Cruijff to replace Rinus Michels as the coach of the Dutch national team after they won the 1988 European Cup is the biggest reason why The Netherlands never won the World Cup during that time

  • i was born at 1993, and in elementary school mini football (7 man play) in my sub-district or district turnament as i was at 5th grade my coach was telling me to be a defender even though i have an obsession to attack and make a goal as any other kids don't want to be defender nor goalkeeper. how the coach persuade me was by showing clipping of magazine from legendary player such as beckenbauer and koeman, that even as centre back (because i was taller than my peer at that time) i can still attack and make a goal by free kick, and in the training the coach always give me more time to train free kick. in that turnament i made 4 freekick goal and my team was winning 1st place, and since that day i was obsessed with becoming centre back and take freekick but my height was stop growing at 172 cm at high school so it become difficult to continued be a centre back and with injury on my right foot (plantar fascitiis and knee problem because of muscle overuse) i stop dreaming to be a footballer and just go to college to work as teacher afterwards. thank you for this video as it has that nostalgic vibe for me.

  • The subtitles on Pep were hilarious. It'd totally be my input as a manager too though sadly.

  • I didn't like the length of that Temu ad. It's a sponsor spot that's way too much in the face and its got nothing to do with football

  • It's almost terrifying to think about that what if Koeman played as a striker and just focus on scoring.

  • Old Cules remember his sole goal that win us first UCL. Too bad we were too old to defend him on the internet against younger 'fans' when he was our coach. Xavi are not doing better jobs albeit given plenty of transfer from his list and far less injury problem.

  • I remember his 6:33 goal against Porto in the champions league semi-final, 1992. As a Porto fan i didn't like it but i think it's one of his best because of distance and the fact it was not his dead ball trademark. A couple of weeks later he scored the winning goal of the final against Sampdoria but still Barcelona fans didn't treat him well later on.. For me he's the greatest defender ever!
