  • For a man of his shape he was so unbelievebly athletic

    • Its those deep roots in wrestling. Wrestler strength is no joke. Being able to not just have a lot of muscle but knowing how to use it is a must in wrestling.

    • @@jr5993cos this is a high crotch (most of them). In wrestling a single is usually head on this inside, which Chanel says gets you punched.

  • How does he avoid getting crossfaced or guillotined when he has the single leg? I've noticed that he doesn't keep his head as high up when he has the head outside single but no one is able to crossface him regardless.

  • Dc is a better and more interesting fighter than stipe. They should have let stipe fight francis again before the stipe vs dc rematch. The winner(ngannou) would then face dc and that would have been a much more interesting fight. I am sure dc would have won over the prime scary francis that demolished stipe. He does not back away from anyone and once he takes you down, he controls you. Stipe vs ngannou 2 would have been good at promoting the match with dc against ngannou, to determine the real heavyweight Goat(DC in my opinion).

  • Across both Jones fights, Cormier was 1/11 combined on takedowns to Jones’ 3/8 combined. And Jones got up 1 second after Cormier took him down, anyway. Just shows how good Jones’ MMA wrestling is.

  • Can anyone confirm that this video missed none?

    @heightcopecentre@heightcopecentre3 ай бұрын
    • It certainly didn't miss any from his UFC and Strikeforce career, the only ones it may have missed are the three fights he had outside of those promotions for the fact that those fights aren't on fightpass, but tbh I don't know if he secured takedowns in those fights.

      @seanmmachannel@seanmmachannel3 ай бұрын
    • @@seanmmachannel Okay, thank you for the confirmation. Good to know it as I'm currently doing a research on Daniel Cormier takedown. I'm curious why more people don't try to just inside leg trip or lift it up in the air and prefer to switch to double instead (which Daniel seemed to do rarely). Also, I'm surprised that the UFC stats show that his takedown accuracy is only 44%. I wonder if it's because he faced better wrestlers or his finishing is not actually that effective. If you could answer my curiosity, it'd be appreciated!

      @heightcopecentre@heightcopecentre3 ай бұрын
    • @@heightcopecentre Yeah no problem, you actually bring up a great point about the inside trip on the single leg. I grapple myself and I can say that the single leg inside trip is very affective against almost all opponents even those with pretty high-level wrestling backgrounds. I actually think we are starting to see that move become more popular in MMA, there's a middleweight in the UFC currently named Jacob Malkoun and he finishes virtually all his takedowns on the fence by grabbing the single and trip out the back leg. As for Cormier having a 44% takedown accuracy, I would say two things, first I believe that 44% is actually a very high percentage for MMA fighters at the highest level. For instance, Khabib who is considered by many the greatest grappler of all time only had a 48% takedown accuracy in his career. The fact is that in MMA due to the cage being used to help defending fighters keep their balance and the distance between fighters due to the striking aspect of the sport, no matter how good your takedowns are, your still going to fail many times. Not to mention Cormier fought some of the guys with the best takedown defense in that division like Jon Jones and Alexander Gustafsson
