DC was an Olympic wrestler...Jon was taller, which should've given DC an advantage in an area he dominated nearly ever person he ever fought. Jon is that good. That not even an Olympian can take him down.

To be honest man if DC was younger the outcome would be the same. Can’t out strike Jon or even out wrestle him 🤷🏾♂️ Jones IQ is also higher man Jones is more durable & jones is stronger and more agile has more IQ and still had more weapons in his arsenal DC would probably get knocked out in the first fight against Jones if he was younger tbh

The amazing thing was how Jones set that headkick up. He attacked the body a lot in this fight with body shots, kicks and knees. Even with that headkick, he was initially looking at DC's body which is what threw DC off as he moved his arms to block a body kick which left his head wide open. Jones is an incredibly creative and dangerous fighter with physical gifts but his fight IQ is what sets him apart from everyone!

He didn't fucking care trust me. DC is a great humble guy and forgave JJ but JJ still taunts DC over the years just like he did when he was mocking DC when he cried after Miocic's fight. @michaelpryor78 Жыл бұрын
@@michaelpryor78 You must me proud of yourself to defend a cheater. Perhaps you're a one? Deal with it. Some other way. Your comment has zero value because one is a cheater, means has illegal and huge advantage in terms of strength, strength in training, etc. You can talk nonsense about bad matchup, but you have nothing in practice to back it up.
@nft3 Жыл бұрын
@@nft3 Acting like Jon wouldn't be champ material without them is nonsensical. Anyone who says this simply doesn't know what they're looking at. His technical skills are on another level, and his length/reach makes him extremely troublesome to deal with. Steroids play no role in that nor his ability to utilize his length to land a head kick. If you want to be a steroid puritan, then watch another sport. Guys are on them. It's professional cage fighting and there are ways to get away with it. People just have a double standard and point the finger at Jon. With the possible exceptions of Silva and Dillashaw, almost everyone else who was juicing gets a free pass with the fans because they weren't as successful.

The little leg sweep there that completely sent DC off balance was a thing of beauty, absolutely surgical. When fighters get rocked or are wobbly, the opponent often just thinks about landing those key follow-up shots to the head and go head hunting or for a takedown to secure the advantage. But when guys are a little out of it, a simple kick to the leg or foot sweep is super effective because they are trying to find their feet and regain their senses...so moves that normally wouldn't mess them up can send them tripping backwards onto themselves...and give you that surefire advantage you were looking for after rocking them.

Jons defense is so, SO criminally underrated. He NEVER gets hurt, dude may be the greatest defensive fighter ever
Defense = ability to avoid hits. Chin = ability to take hits.
@@Rhymezny im aware. Whos landed clean on him not named gustaffson? Hes never been wobbled. In the santos and reyes fights they landed clean on his guard, never his head.
@@lunatik383 I'm a big fan of Jon's defence.. but even in this fight he gets hit plenty? Did you watch the video you're commenting on😂
@@lunatik383 just in these highlights dc landed a few uppercuts and a pretty heavy overhand right
His defense is amazing when fighting guys much shorter than himself. When he fights guys more his size .. Gus, Reyes ... he gets hit ... a lot.
Man DC was doing so good up until that kick landed
Yup, same as Kamaru until the kick landed
si que lastima
DC would've got his ass handed to him anyway. No one beats Bones NO ONE😤💪🏿
@Insider Knowledge bro if DC was just like 6'0 or 6'1 he is deadassss winning
@@iammyownnemisis4827 if DC was 6 ft he would made jones look like an idiot in there. DC just couldn’t get close enough to Jones without getting kicked in the knees or stomach. DC at 6 ft would have been able to take Jones down and seriously put a bad beating on a jones in the stand up. We saw whenever dc was able to get close, he landed on jones, and rocked him. Now imagine he didn’t have to cover a foot of distance to hit jones. Dc would have knocked jones head to the moon.
that height and reach is no joke, cormier is a beast
This was such an awesome fight. Two incredible fighters.
Man this was a great fight. I thought DC looked good but JBJ is so long. Also such great fight IQ. DC said that a really smart thing JBJ did at the end to finish him was after he was dazed, JBJ kicked out his leg so he would spin. Being dizzy already, this added to it and he fell. He couldn't grapple or grab legs to recover
I think as soon as he got kicked in the head he had no shot
Thanks for this comment. I literally got done watching the pivot podcast and I while I was listening I was also distracted and reading something so I tuned in and out but I heard DC said something bout spinning but I didn't know what he was talkin bout and now seeing this video and ur comment it fills in the gap of what he was talking about. Yea that makes sense too and a smart fight IQ for jones.
Please..enough with the jones fanboy bullshit..
This man said he long though smh 🤦♂️

The fact they touched gloves says everything. If you really hate someone, you ain't touching their gloves. They don't like each other, but they respect each other, highly.
This is the fight that got me into ufc. What a classic
Mano q luta emocionante, simplesmente sensacional ❤❤❤❤
That kick was crazy. You would think DC could defend the kick but it’s so swift that it was over after that.
It’s cuz Jon was that oblique kick so dc was expecting that but Jon went high
Yea DC saw a knee and went to grab it. Jones used a karate kick, knee up, then extended the leg to a high head kick. Bones jones would still win today but at heavyweight I'm not sure.
DC messed up he was combing JJ legs for hair instead of trying to block it, watch in slow mo, no one block a kick like that..... it was a fail block.

Jon showed his humble and mercy in final episode. Respect , you are a good man.
The way Jon when up to him after the fight. True legend
The way jones trips DC is just masterful 👌🏿🔥
Just watched dc say the same in a interview
I liked DC's trip of Jones too
Like a lion catching his prey
Nigga you watched the interview with yo fake ass lmao
It's like we all heard DC say that, yet you commented it! BRILLIANT WORK
The knees to the body were so powerful throughout the whole fight damn what a fight miss these big fights
That leg kick/sweep when DC was off balance might be the single most brilliant moment of fight IQ I've seen fr
That trip after the head kick was so smart jon picks his moves like a chess player he’s incredible to watch
I’ve never saw anybody so good at everything in UFC history like Jon Jones, crazy how lethal he was
Yeah, and so strong with roids Cormier couldn't even attempt to take him down having caught juicer's leg.

yeah thats why he uses steroids huh? LOLOLO

Woulda been better if he had more pop in his punches. He can take some extra juice tho lol
@Dedrick Gobert yeah I think having all of ur muscle concentrated in your torso + having an extremely long reach is perfect
The leg kick after the head kick was a thing of beauty. DC's head is already spinning from the head kick and then he get's it even worse when the leg kick spun him around and completely messed up his equilibrium. Art of Fighting.
DC Punching on the inside was great. His wrestling solid too. Love watching both of em.
3:11 how strong does he have to be to do that to Jones?
Explains why John took steroids
This has got to be the toughest opponent that Jon Jones has faced considering how little damage the other opponents did to him
@@NicoVanderwerwe Jones vs stipe is happening at ufc 282
@@Sefoosofo only in your dreams
Watch jones vs Alexander Gustafsson 1st fight
@@NicoVanderwerwe how? Daniel Cormier only lost to Stipe at heavyweight when he was 40 years old and Jones beat his ass twice. Jones is a better wrestler than anyone at heavyweight (yes, including Blaydes,) has marginally better fight IQ than anyone, has a longer reach than anyone and uses it better than anyone, and can also strike with pretty much anybody alive. Francis Ngannou ragdolled Ciryl Gane and Francis is not even 10% of the wrestler Jones is.

Best fight I've seen in a long time
Honestly, this belongs in the top 3 greatest professional fights of all time.
The difference in DCs physique here is crazy. Looks like a tank at LHW.
he looked good at lhw, crazy how a guy his size fought against monsters
His frame is actually built for big welterweight or small middleweight, the man just got so much fat and thick muscle under it.
@@afkardhiyaulhaq5882 he coulda actually surgically removed it but yeah its just extra fat you can't get rid of but yeah just more pounds but I think he would be the perfect. middle weight

You can religiously watch jon jones fights every morning and not get tired of it
Jones setup that head kick beautifully. The first two rounds he was digging to the body and then…BANG, DC dipped into it. Similar scenario to Usman and Edwards.
As long as you never quit (epo) it's never over
1:45 Jones trying to break DC arm
dc is a absolute fucking legend.. most people dont know what it takes to fight someone like jon jones despite that huge reach disadvantage
cormier en peso completo lo vencia
He's average ..gave Jones no problems

@@SpicyBoba7431 🗿
Crazy how Reyes dominated him easily
Jon made it seem like he telegraphed the kick to the body with the eyes and just went up top. Daniel went to block down low and got caught. Brilliant.
DC was almost 40 & in his early 40's during his title runs. Crazy
Jon is truely breathtaking to watch, Such a unique fighter. Best to ever do it
Tested + for PEDs= not the GOAT. They know when their tests are and he still got caught. Juicer.
Love the quote from Cormier earlier in the week where he says something like "I know I have some bad tendencies, and you're not going to catch me with a headkick. It will be corrected by then"
Im pretty sure that was before the first fight, but its scary how accurate it was, "You won't catch me with a left leg, and kick me in the head" or something
Caught him with the front BOW
Just rewatched the fight and I have to point out one thing that went missing here. The way he threw that knee by grabbing DCs hands and pushing against them in order to make cormier push back and open himself up and even leverage himself into his knee was just so great I can't describe it really. Also how he just redirected the other hand and pushed on the lead hand at the same time to create that beautiful opening. That's prime jones right there.
This is literally the greatest FIGHT OF ALL TIME TO WARRIORS THAT CAN GO ANY WEIGHT CLASS. We witnessed the very best ever. This is the highest level of a real fight you will ever see to date. Simply amazing. I literally watch this yearly
3:58 the historical moment right here 🔥 💪🏾
He still had the wherewithal to evade the first few strikes after the kick. That’s impressive. DC is a beast.
Whatever you say man. BUT still this fight was the most satisfying loss of DC. I can watch this over and over and over and over and still the gratification and satisfaction of DC losing to JJ is unending...
No one has ever had technical skill like Jon Jones that’s why he the GOAT
Both incredible fighters
That trip. Was ruthless
Khabib to dc: he might seem like fat and short but he is strong like a human bear. But sometimes a bear can become a prey by bigger bears.
Seeing this match is giving goosebumps how much body shots and kicks both are inhuman
“You won’t ko me with the left leg ” 😂
I feel like the most fascinating thing about Jones' striking is the awkward timing. Most fighters have a rhythm they strike with, whether theyre throwing combos or just single shots. Jon seems to throw punches with weird timing, though, effectively disrupting any flow or rhythm his opponents might enter
It’s called telegraph punching her does not great but he does it why it’s weird
Just about every strike comes immediately after some kind of feint or other deceptive motion. He's just so smooth with them too, probably really hard to read in the ring
check jiri prochazka if u want to see random punches without timing and still effective
You never know what weapon of his arsenal is coming either like it could be a kick to the knee, body or head, or a spinning elbow, jab, knee to body etc.
@@quasheemtaylor3443 learn English
1:44 he did the same move on teixeira fight. Glover said he almost broke his elbow. That guy is nasty.
malicious technique
I feel like deep down Jones isn't trying too beat his opponent, It seems like he's trying too really kill him not just beat them. Killer Instinct too brutally beat someone is one thing, but Jon is just using everything possible too utterly destroy his opponents. And its amazing.
For all the hate they showed each other in media they still touched gloves. Even tho they hated each other it seems like they still respected each other as fighters.
Rogan with the sweetest comment at the end
Watching DC get knocked out never gets old 😂
2:13 Jones just trying to fucking demolish him with anything possible
4:32 just noticed what jon does with his hands before that sweep, toying with his food
The rage, the anger & the whole thing behind this fight made DC stressful and furious and somehow hesitates It's way different than the 1st fight, JJ prime was a BEAST
With all the beef and hate Jones and DC had for each other they still touched gloves before each fight , that goes a long way with respect in the fight world Still hurts seeing DC cry like that
for me, that trip attempt is the most impressive thing
that first takedown was surprisingly easier than expected.
DC can take hits man. Like a tank
Love that at the end. That was so cool for him to give props to DC.
Jones is an exceptional fighter but DC did have a disadvantage of age and height. He was pushing 40 here and his arm reach was a foot lesser.
The way Jon handles the win was epic 🐐with showing that respect
That ground n pound was brutal asf 😂
