DTC OFF DSC OFF: can spin wheels, can lose control of car So the real play mode is #3 everything off, I guess ? EDIT: point #2

    • I have E90 318i (same color, looks almost identical, lol) and my answers for you my friend: 1. It's ultra hard to lose control, these systems work perfectly. It's both stability (not letting the engine rev once slip is detected) and the traction (braking wheels individually). 2. It's easier to lose control, but not that much. However, if you will go into a corner too fast in order to "drift", DTC help might not be enough to recover you. It's a decent help, but stay safe and reasonable. The guy didn't mention one thing: the DTC is designed to provide max torque, given the current grip. It will allow you for some wheelspin, the car will shoot forward wildly. Still, once your drifts will fail, the traction will brake down the wheels individually, but the revs are not blocked as much. I had a situation, where I tried a drift on a right corner, it pushed me too much to the left and I FELT that both front left and rear left wheels were braking down. It helped a lot. Still, the car can be a bit wild, so that's what you should only for the majority of the time. 3. Think twice before you will switch off the DSC. The car can go really wild. Use it only for drifts/donuts on an open space, where there is no risk of hitting something. I don't recommend using it for a normal corner drift, since you CAN lose control (the car is wilder than my old E36 316i 1.9) and nothing will help you. With DTC - you will have that last help.

  • What I've noticed to my car is, on DSC mode the stability control acts on the brakes to reduce wheel spin and to set the car on a desired track and also acts on the engine throttle inputs to reduce wheel spin as well. DTC seems to do the same thing except it doesn't limit the engine power so it can brake the wheel that looses traction or stabilize if needed. But not sure here, it may depend on the model. For my x1, on snow you still cant push the rpm higher than 2500rpm when the wheels spin freely. So it allows a bit more power to the wheels. The third mode, comes when long pressing the dtc and deactivates the stability control completely. So if one wheel spins freely the car won't take any action. During the winter through deep snow I 've got significantly better results driving with the dsc off. At low speed it is also very easy to control the car.

    • And if you turn out DSC (destination system control) by pushing DTC (destination TRACKING control) your BMW allows you to slip some more and drifts. If you hold "DTC" for a few seconds - your car became no under electronic control. its drifts like noother , In russian winter DSC - the best. Even russian cops sometimes cant get with front weel drive. Try to push DTC only if can hold the car. Do not say, that some bmw cant drift. push DTC button for a few seconds....

  • My driveway is really uphill and it has a tight corner. Every time i try to get to the road the right type spins couple of times with DTC on ( its a right turn ) and bogs which makes the car jerky . Which mode should i use to get up my driveway?My family is really pissed because the driveway is made of cobblestone and it now has tons of tire-marks. Never had a problem with any other car since its the first non-fwd we've had.

  • How do you get the fastest 0-60 time? Push the DTC button once or leave it all on?

    @goranmusinovic1350@goranmusinovic13506 жыл бұрын
    • with all on, the power cut from the systems would make you slower than just losing some grip. So for fastest to 60, just press it once. With DSC pressed once, the car doesn't let you go full crazy on it anyway. It would lose SOME grip and it will be more than happy to go a little bit sideways in corners, but you will never lose control.

      @nedelcurobertandrei5808@nedelcurobertandrei58086 жыл бұрын
    • I have experienced my best 0-60 times with DSC and traction control off combined with revving it at 2,000 RPM then letting off. It can be easy to over rev and just over spin on the launch. Key is to launch with a low RPM and you'll have all the grip you need with traction control off.

  • on winter and on snow if you deactivate dtc or dsc and you will floor it yu'll gonna make ice under the weels and you will remain stuck. the last thing that you uant on snow with a light-weight rear car is to make wheelspin. More than that with a car without LSD. it will make ice under one of the wheels and all the torque will go there. So DON"T deactivate any of the safety features unless you want to play with the car. it will do worst if u try to deactivate it in a stuck situation.

    • I heard the car has an electronical LSD, not sure in which mode, probably in DTC mode (click the button once). It works simply but breaking down the wheel that spins faster, so that both wheels should spin with the same speed = both wheels spinning ~~ LSD effect.

      @MatiKosa@MatiKosa6 жыл бұрын
    • That's right - the braking based LSD effect will happen if you have it on default or if you do the short press. If you hold down the button you get no brake based limited slip - which means if you want a limited slip effect while not having stability control then hard luck :(

      @DrMeize@DrMeize3 жыл бұрын
    • @@DrMeize you do know it doesn't make the car warm up inside any faster? If you want 21 degrees celcius it will warm up just as fast set at 21 as 28. It automatically warms up to the desired temp without having to put it much hotter like old systems.Thats how climate control works 😉👍

    • Yep you are right ... so why did you brought it up in the first place then ?:))

      @DrMeize@DrMeize3 жыл бұрын
    • @@DrMeize because 28 deg is mega warm to set it at ( thats like a mega hot summers day in Scotland) then I assumed by your reply you set it high in the belief that it would make the car interior warm up faster. Which it doesn't, which is what I replied explaining how the system works.
