What a beautiful ending to that segment. Martina is incredible and what she accomplished in singles, double and mixed doubles, to me, puts her firmly in the GOAT conversation.
I’d argue that she IS the goat. As great as Serena is, no one in the men’s or women’s game will ever come even close to her combined grand slam total. No player will ever be able to lay waste to the field in both singles and doubles like she did in her prime. She will always be the goat in my mind

Lindsey Davenport should take lessons from Martina Navratilova. On Navratilova's first match (commentating with Brett Haber, the very best studio host/play-by-play person on TC by far) back she reestablishes as the most knowledgeable, least rigid, best at sorting out a player's strategy, all with a relaxed sense of humor. She doesn't spout obvious, simplistic, beginners tennis pablum. What a refreshing change.
Carlos' ascent like Graf's- she came up after Chris and Martina's dominance- and there was a generation between them and Graf that got displaced and never materialized/got to the top... Carlos is by passing the Medvedev/Tsistipas/Zverev, etc generation- they could win a major here and there- like Hana and Tracey, but none will grab hold of the tour and be on top.
