M777 and HIMARS: How is NATO Artillery Technology Fighting Against Russian Artillery in Ukraine?

2023 ж. 12 Нау.

The war in Ukraine has evolved into a bloody combination of trench warfare techniques from 100 years ago and 21st century technology. In particular, Bakhmut has turned into a front that needs to be pondered over by combat experts with the images reflected in the press and social media.
Since the Russians were either unwilling or unable to bring their air force into the battle in sufficient numbers to dominate the war, they were forced to rely heavily on the other option: The use of massed artillery.
In the very beginning of the war both Russia and Ukraine had ex-Soviet artillery. However things have changed since billions of dollars in munitions have flooded into Ukraine from NATO and other nations.
The M777 Howitzer and HIMARS were possibly the most game-changing pieces of artillery equipment.
These two weapon systems provided the Ukrainians with two very important benefits that repeatedly ruin Russians' days.
Pinpoint accuracy and mobility.
Their special ammunition include M982 Excalibur rounds, XM1156 PGKs and GLSDBs.

    • It's a fact that the M777 towed howitzers are obsolete. That's why some NATO armies don't have these obsolete towed howitzers anymore. Self-propelled howitzers are clearly superior because with these vehicles the shoot and scoot tactic is possible. However, a number of technologies have been introduced that give this artillery a new dimension in its employment and effectiveness. These enhanced capabilities cover navigation and positioning, digitized integrated networked command and control, automatic loading, automated firing solution computation and gun laying, and improved ammunition. Because of the importance of mobility and the need for firepower on the battlefield, the self-propelled howitzers is called the King of the battlefield. This video explains the superiority of the Self Propelled Artillery tactics: kzhead.info/sun/fdyjoLGSpIqAfJs/bejne.html Video title: M109 Self Propelled Artillery Vehicle Tactics Explained! The question then is why the US government does not supply these self-propelled howitzers to Ukraine and instead obsolete M777 towed howitzers where takes the change of position compared to a self-propelled howitzer lasts forever. However, other NATO countries have supplied these very useful self-propelled howitzers. Poland supplies two types, the AHS Krab self-propelled howitzers and the 2S1 Goździk self-propelled howitzers. So Poland actually delivered the most self-propelled howitzer. But only the Americans have the ability to really supply enough self-propelled howitzers, but they don't. Why don't they? It looks as if the Americans did not want a Ukrainian victory, because too few of the other weapons were supplied or the weapons were not supplied at all.

I am sure many on this channel can figure that out , why that round is not the most heavily used and they are not in the military.

    • You do realize that just a few years ago Ukraine was ranked the most corrupt nation on earth......On the entire earth. We've no idea where the weapons and money are going. It's in the news that they're losing because they are running out of ammunition. Where'd the billion's go? Why is it Germany's responsibility? Why is it the United States responsibility? We already gave enough. They either sold it off or wasted it on low priority target's. It's their war to lose and it looks like they're losing bad right now. Zelinsky wants fighters now. That fool wants to strike within Russian territory and kick off WW3. Ukraine isn't worth the end of civilization. It's a hard truth. I feel for the people who stayed......as for the millions who fled. Clearly they didn't think it was worth fighting for.

  • If HIMARS works effectively, why do we see massive destruction in Backmut? Of course it is a meat grinder for Ukrainian soldiers who can't resist the constant attacks of Russia's offensives. Don't push them to frontlines whereas they don't have enough weapons and soldiers. This is suicidal tactic.

You can't bring an amateur fighter to fight a professional fighter and then you expect to win except in rigged fights.
