The Steelers and Ravens meet up for Round 3 on the season in an intense matchup to start off the Divisional Round.
2008-2012 Era Ravens-Steelers doesn’t get any better than this. The finest of the AFC.
Perfectly said....you knew you were getting 60 minutes of all out fist fight. That's the last era where the NFL let men be men. Not today's sissy NFL where the QB and punters and well everyone is 2 hand touch. But they can destroy roethlisberger at will but he's a beast and takes it. That's why I love college football anymore....go Ohio State Buckeyes and Pittsburgh Steelers

There's something about a cold weather, loud crowd, hard-hitting playoff game that warms the spirit.
Now, in 2020, we have the exact opposite!
@@definitelynosebreather too much money on the line for owners to just lose their "investments" to injuries plus players are more concerned about their long term health which makes sense as a former football player myself

Very true, but I I guess after being in Atlanta for along time.. I got used to Dome games. I realized football was going in a different direction. But I miss this type of late season vibe.
Amen
Games like this will never be seen again. Especially in today’s NFL.

@David Corley why? A year after both cancers are off the team and the team played harder than ever?
You switch coaches when the team gives up on them. Smh. You don't just change them up for fun

I remember being so mad and scared we were going to lose when i was little, this game is one of the greatest Steelers ravens bouts of all time
3rd & 19. Take nothing away from pittsburgh for converting that down and distance but there is no excuse for baltimore to allow that conversion when we all knew the only play that could be made was deep and got flagged for illegal contact which was just added insult. Starting with the Ray Rice fumble to that 3rd & 19 conversions sums up what the 2nd Half was like for the two teams.
The crowd was in it the entire game. The roaring sound of the crowd coming through my phone speaker still gives me chills!
J. TaCKeTT- Agreed.
Flacco was always underrated. He was a great QB.
We hated each other then. We may hate each other now. But when we look back, we realize how legendary our rival was/is.

This game broke my heart.
I still remember almost everyone’s name on this team. They were lit 🙌🏾

I drove for my job from JFK airport to UPMC on Friday evening (well my EMS partner did). Then back to NJ and then back to Pittsburgh to be here. The way it looks on TV makes it amazing. The stadium was literally shaking the whole second half. Momentum is a powerful tool in football. Steal the moment and you can control the game. A moment that I can relive in my mind the this broadcast reminds me of the elation of everyone in that stadium.
how in the world didn't we win the superbowl this year -- we had a stacked roster. Our receivers were Mike Wallace, Hines Ward, Randle El, Antonio Brown, Emmanuel Sanders! OMG! our defense was full of all pro's...crazy. this was quite a game.
That Mendenhall fumble towards the end killed any and all momentum we had. Kinda like the O'Donnell interception against the Cowboys back in 95.
Steelers outplayed greenbay. We lost the turnover battle.
We would have won if fucking mendenhall didn't fumble after we stormed back. He lost the ball, our momentum, and the super bowl....miss you bus!
@@silviodante6792 #7 had a bad game is why they lost. He is to blame if there is someone to blame. It was his job to recognize the defense and call the play accordingly on that play IMO. Mendenhall is a fall guy.
If they would have played like this they would have. The fumble gets too much attention. Hard to believe but it was the defense that had dug the hole.
Ed played in 10 games this season and had 8 INTs which lead the league, what a savage
We were truly blessed to have seen two of the best safeties ever play Troy and Ed and both were class acts

@Jacob Gonzalez It's too bad this year's week 17 game is, unbelievable in preseason, a Ravens 1 seed 'rest your starters' game. Maybe RG3 will pull some heroics, and the Steelers we already know are driven to play hard. (This is EXACTLY why I pull my starters, against a team that plays this hard and hates my guts hates everything about me) I gotta respect such a coaching job, when your HOF level QB is out for the season, it's a 5-11 season. But wait, THEN your 2nd string QB is bad enough to get benched, AND YOU LOSE your 1st and 2nd string RBs and WR's? And the team STILL plays hard enough to be a playoff hopeful? As if you're gonna go all the way on the road like 2005? THEY are not taking week 17 easy. 2019 Steelers season is a testament to what good coaching and organization can pull off. I'm not a Steelers fan, but they gave ticket holders and commercial advertisers their money's worth.
Walter White and to sum up the story, the Ravens backups and 3rd stringers won the week 17 game
AWESOME!!!!

Someone should do a little Documentary about that era Steelers/Ravens Rivalry. Would be a hit in both cities. Nothing tops the 2008 Champ game for me, but this was close. And so many great Regular season games. 1 or 2 point victories. Slugfests. Epic.
These two teams have brought rivalry to two new levels.
These games are just as epic as the old Broncos/Raiders, Dallas/Washington, New England/Buffalo, or Jets/Dolphins games were. Epic.
I always remember this game for the Housmanzadeh drop... he usually had solid hands, a surprising drop when it really mattered

20:45 Loved that tackle from Ed. The nerve impingement really hurt his tackling later in his career but he could still lay the wood occasionally.
These were the good ole days! When these two teams met, you knew you were going to see smash mouth football for 60 mins.

Thats the best rivalry in the nfl hands down hard hitting games
Wondering if big Ben or any other Steelers go on KZhead to watch old games to remember the times of the past
I’m pretty sure they do
Maybe....or they just look at the scars on there bodies lol
LOVE the head hunting, cheap shots, concussion blows. Gimme gimme CRIPPLE Ball!
Best rivalry ever in the NFL
I’ll never forget this game. The old Pittsburgh Steelers were down early and it didn’t look good I was in a hotel and I was in the lobby it was a crown royal hotel so there was a bunch of people in the lobby and I just remember the one Kid in a ravens hoodie and was so cocky guaranteeing me that the ravens were gonna break my little heart LMAO😂😂😂 BANG BANG STILLER GANG!
The 2008-2012 Ravens should have won more than one SB. So many playoff games that we let slip away.
So many good years for you guys since 2006. Yeah, it’s a shame you guys only won one super bowl; I feel that in 2008, 2010, 2011, and 2019 even you guys should’ve made it
Ravens having to face the Steelers three times a year was the problem. There was no other team that would have stopped ya'll.
This was a True 5 STAR MATCHUP! "GO STEELERS"
That was hysterical watching John Harbaugh windmilling for a timeout like crazy.
One of the best rivalries in NFL history. Big Ben, Ray Lewis, Ed reed, Hines ward, Troy polamalu, James Harrison, Terrell suggs, haloti ngata, Ray rice, anquon boldin, Ryan Clark, lamar Woodley, Antonio brown. Sheesh it doesn’t get better than this
Think about how many Hall of Famers were in this game...but also how many Hall of Really Good players. Each team has good receivers, similar and good tight ends, and really good role players who probably won't make it to Canton (Farrior, Ngata, Timmons, Birk, Hampton, Rice, Taylor, many more). Crazy talented rosters.
I don’t think I’m speaking only for myself when I say that as a Steelers fan, I tend not to revisit this amazing game, and the AFCCG against NY…they’re marred in my mind by PIT’s choking against GB in the SB. But it shouldn’t be that way. These were awesome games, and there’s no shame in barely losing by one possession to Rodgers. This here game in particular does hold some great memories. We were at my extended family’s Christmas gathering, and let’s just say we live in another NFL city and they don’t have much love for PIT. My dad and I, as usual, were the only Steelers fans near or far, and this was the first Christmas my future wife was spending with my family. She got a kick out of how we argued sports, and I have to tell you it was very satisfying that we never showed any doubt we harbored when Baltimore went up, because when Pittsburgh came roaring back I tell you no lie cousins and uncles got up and left the room. Ah, the good old days. Now Ben is retired and we’re praying we get someone half as good
Have this game on my VOD. Never ever gets old. When we were behind in SBXLIII I am had this feeling come over me-I just knew that Ben would come through for the Burch. Bless.
There is nothing that I enjoy more than Steelers Ravens in the playoffs. I mean, other than Pittsburgh beating the Ravens in the playoffs...
This is my favorite Steelers win over the Ravens, I just loved this one. Just look at 1:25:12, no way you were going to beat the Steelers on that night, that crowd knew it too, even down seven. You can just watch the Ravens come unglued after that, and the Steelers players were feeding off of it also.
Harrison got so low around the edge that he forced the Tackle to hold him nearly every time he rushed the QB. Every game. Tape dont lie. He was a beast for 3-4 yrs.

As a ravens fan, he was a bad bad man
Bringing back memories Seeing this amazing rivalry of My favorite team Ravens Vs Steelers but it was amazing 💛🖤💛 🖤💜🖤
I don't think I have ever seen a game where the momentum swung so dramatically and completely. The Ravens were in total control until that Ray Rice fumble early in the third quarter. Then, as if rushing to fill a vacuum, all of the momentum swung the Steelers' way and there just didn't seem to be anything the Ravens could do to stem the tide.
As a Steelers fan I circle two games every year on my calendar, got nothing but mad respect for the Ravens....hate those guys with a passion. Miss this era of football. Wasn't political or in the news...just Football.
Ryan Clark was the team's MVP that day.
Ima big Brady fanatic but this is the appitimy of a great cold weather game I love it
The 2010 playoff Steelers team were just one half teams sadly and it caught up to them in the SB. Look at their 3 playoff games. This game they are flat in the 1st half and then open it up on all gears in the 2nd half outscoring Balt 24-3. Next week against the Jets they continue the momentum by dropping 24 points on the Jets in the 1st half, then almost let the Jets comeback in the 2nd half by being outscored 19-0. Then the SB where the flatness continued where GB jumped out to a 1st half lead. Come 2nd half Pit opened it up and were looking to be ready to takeover the game and then the Mendenhall fumble happens and the rest is history.
Been looking for this in HD forever. Thanks Bartman.

The franchises still are. Most of the players in this game are retired now so not exactly the same teams. These 2 teams with those players though were historically great.
@@IanMalcolm-rw5pn cap healthy Ben next yr = playoffs
I’ve been a Steelers fan since the 1970’s and I feel like Big Ben is the last of the old school type players for us. You would have to know the style of play and attitudes of Lambert, Green, Bradshaw, Blount, Ham, Webster, Swann, Stallworrh, Shell, Kolb, Sam Davis, Rod Woodson, Greg Lloyd, Mike Wagner..etc I mean I could go on, but it I hope that some new players come along that epitomize GRIT and getting the job done. By the way much respect to the Ravens.
I think you could add Cam Hayward and TJ Watt to that list.
Said it before, and I'm sure I and many others will say it again. From about 04 to 2014 ish. the matchup between these two was a mini superbowl every time. Almost always the two top 2 in every cat defensive leaders. They know each other well. Different that the rest of the AFC North. There is some hatred with the Ohio teams from each. But not so much respect. These two hated each other, but also held a deep respect for the others game. That is what made these games legendary. And in post, an even god like event. Many will say that was an exaggeration. But if your were old enough to watch these back when, it was not. And because of these, quite a few, and futures in the Hall of Fame. Don't even need to take me at my word. I've heard many (players) from each team say the same. And almost always, it came down to 1 score. Unfortunately though, how these two hit back when won't fly in todays game. Fuking soft the NFL is now.
Every play in this game produces the equivalent (in the contact & hitting) of a total-auto wreck, and a far distant game from the "he touched me! where's the damn flag?" that we watch today in the NFL. I got injured just watching. Hell's bells!
Joe Fiasco. How the Ravens won a Superbowl with that guy. I will never kmow.
You obviously don't know about his incredible playoff run that year. 11 TDs 0 INTs
In his first three years. He has won at least one playoff game. Think about that.

Pack fan here but hands down one of the greatest rivals during the late 000’s and early 10000’s 💯 seahawks/sf been ruling it so far tho once these legends retired from both pitt/balt
One of the most memorable games I have seen from start to finish. Nice choke job by Ravens and remember Ray Lewis being interviewed after game rambling!
As a steelers fan, much respect to the Ravens
Wow! Didn't watch this game when it happened. Didn't watch much NFL that season for some reason. Got to feel bad for Flacco. Down 24-21 late, he throws the go ahead TD, but the WR Boldin drops it (he would make up for this in 2012 against NE). Then, Pittsburgh has 3rd & 19 with the game tied and about 2 minutes to go. BAL should be able to get the stop, and have 2 minutes to get a FG. Instead, Big Ben heaves the ball 100 yards down the field to Antonio Brown, setting up 1st and Goal. But the Ravens defense steps up, and it's about be a relatively long 3rd and Goal, from like the 5. But a questionable defensive holding penalty gives them 1st down. Still, the Ravens D forces 3rd and Goal from the 2. A great run by Mendenhall gets him into the end zone. But the Ravens still have time, and a short field due to a penalty and squib kick. But on 2nd and 10, the 3-4 defense Steelers execute one of those confusing 3-4 blitzes that worked so well against me, back when I played Madden back in the day. The RG literally chooses to block another rusher, allowing the DT to go untouched and smash Flacco for a bone-crushing sack, forcing a seemingly impossible 4th and 18. Crowd is going crazy. They're playing that awesome song "Renegade". But somehow, Flacco completes the pass on 4th and 18, giving them new life. But wait! His WR drops it. Game over.
This is pretty much the last game of an era. After this WR's got so much protection you wont really see a game like this again.
They were already getting protection at this point after the 04 contact rule change
I miss THESE Steelers! Physical, Tough, Gritty, Battling Harf every play! I really hope they get back to this and get that 7th Lombardi
The NFL changed the rules so there can't be teams like these anymore.

As a football fan watching this game when Ray Rice fumbled that football you felt a complete shift in momentum go to pittsburgh that entire 2nd Half. They won't admit it but I'm sure baltimore was panicking on the inside. That was a hell of a play by Big Ben on the deep pass to Antonio Brown but there is no excuse for baltimore on defense giving up a 3rd & 19 conversion when you know the only thing you have to defend is the deep pass. I still can't believe they allowed that conversion.
