Super bowl XLIII was the first football game I watched and I fell in love with Pittsburgh. I wish they were able to go to more super bowls and win
That is the exact same reason why I love the Steelers too. SB43 was the first game I watched live as well. This 2008-09 team and season was nostalgic
@@ABEdits7 I will give you guys credit for being stillers fans. But the mid-90's teams were stoopid, krazy-ass fun . Better than any stillers era. You guys were not around, I was in college. We had blitzbuurg. That was the Dom capers/dick lebuea defense. Specifically the LBs. lloyd brown greene and Kirkland. We had the chan gailey 5 wide. Kordell Stewart. Ernie mills. Thigpen. Chaes Johnson (rip) and Andre hastings. Eric Green was a player that blocked like an o-lineman. Caught like a wr and ran like a rb. We had a top 5 online every year. Duvall love. John Jackson. Dermontti. Plus we had cowher power. Gary Anderson the best kicker ever
Me too! It's nice to see someone have the same experience I had. I was 8 years old.
What a great childhood to be a Steelers fan around this time
U want a great childhood, I came of age and became a Black and Gold bleeder in the '70's. Love this team, their iconic coaches and the Rooney's. Best family in the NFL!.
I was at the perfect age to take this all in. I was in my mid 20s. When I was growing up the team was good but it seemed they always fell just short. When they went to Super Bowl 40 my daughters mom tried to pull some shit so I would miss the game. It had been like 25 years since The Steelers won a Super Bowl and 10 years since they played in one. I wasn’t missing that game for anything but a health emergency with my daughter. At the time I was like man you. Never know if they’re gonna get to that point again. Low n behold they did again just 3 years later.
@@kimberlyianaro3774 I’ll take bein a kid when are best QB in franchise history Ben was a rookie any day
@@kimberlyianaro3774 u definitely got to watch a lot of super bowl wins n that’s really cool
Right I loved Sunday afternoons to watch Big Ben
This era of Steeler Defense with Baltimores defense was just legendary to watch go to war. Physical football for all 60 minutes.
The most exciting 7-0 games to watch lol.
Clean football too. None of that garbage Cincinnati brought with Burfect.
God bless you Tunch we miss you brother.
Super Bowl XIV was the first Super Bowl I kinda remember. Their 4th win. I was 6 years old. I just remember my Dad and his friends so happy. I never thought I would actually see and understand another Steeler Super Bowl win. Then, they won 2 more. The Steeler organization is too good for it not to happen again. So all you people that wish to see another win, no worries, it WILL happen again.
I went to that AFC Championship game, I thought it would be the greatest game I ever watched in person. Two weeks later I went to Super Bowl XLIII and was proven wrong. So I’ll go with it being the best game I ever watched at Heinz Field. I’ve been to a lot of games, but that was a war against Baltimore.
That’s unbelievable
Did you take any pictures?
That's why I love football. It's like a war without actually having one :)
@@MeteorSmashnope. I’ve got one picture from the super bowl. I had a Nokia brick phone at the point. I’ve never been much of a picture taker.
@AB Edits
I love my Steelers 🖤💛🖤💛
The 43 took us to the XLIII. Best safety in football history.
Man the nostalgia trip. So many big names that absolutely ruled the game in my childhood, and just brings back so much emotion just seeing them again. And how about the Ravens rivalry? Legendary stuff, you always got a physical, tough game. Ravens vs Steelers was the best Sunday entertainment you could ask for. Forget the Browns and the Bengals, they've never even come close to the threat that the Ravens would always pose. What a fantastic era of Steelers history.
Good to hear Tunch’s voice. Miss hearing him every week
RIP Heinz Field.
Holmes really put in so much work this playoff run
Bro kinda carried our offense, with a little mixture of Willie Parker
@@ABEdits7 yeah no doubt I was young but remember watching the sb td he got but didnt realize the work he put into the playoffs
@@SuperCraft12283 That playoff run was truly iconic and created my love for this team. Hoping we can get a 7th shortly. We have always had the defense, and now we gotta young talented offense
Nothing beats riding the gateway clipper over to Heinz. Truly the full on Pittsburgh experience
Big facts it’s must
I doubt there will ever be another Troy. He has to be the greatest safety that has ever played.
Hands down best safety
Best SS by far. So dynamic, versatile and explosive…he reads the game so incredibly well. FS I’m going with Lott
People only other argument is Ed Reed. But they played two different positions. I'm a steelers fan and I'll admit Ed Reed was awesome. But he was free safety and Troy was strong
Nothing more legendary than my Steelers… the whole team and organization put their heart into everything.
That Ravens game, although ended in a loss for my Ravens, will always be one of my favorite games. Battle of absolutely star studded defense, all coming down to one player showing up the biggest when needed.
Miss this era of the Steelers so much
I know same here
This was back in the day when the Steelers/Ravens rivalry was the best in sports. Even when I re-watch these games knowing the outcome, my blood pressure still skyrockets throughout the game.
Ik, r! Great games.
@Bobby Dillon I pee pee
I still believe Steelers vs. Ravens is the best rivalry in sports. They're the old Cleveland Browns and that was our first rival... it doesn't get better than that! The closest would have to be Packers vs. Bears
@@ap202TPR RRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
IT'LL NEVER BEAT THE STEELERS BROWNS RIVALRIES, THE STEELERS BENGALS RIVALRIES OR THE STEELERS OILERS RIVALRIES!!!!!😠😡😟👎🖕😭
Heart, passion and the love for the game and we’re stuck with bums on defense like Devin Bush who couldn’t care less about the game. Smh
I can’t wait to see the Baltimore ravens vs the New York jets on September 11th 2022 and see a 9/11 ceremony at the New York jets stadium
The Santonio Holmes pass they ruled incomplete was absolutely and obviously a catch. There were so many of these bad calls back in those days. The 2006 run where they overturned Polamalu's INT against the Colts was a crime.
The Polamalu int in the 05 playoffs was THE absolute worst call in the history of sports. They had it correct and reversed it. They went against the rules of replay. Just cuz they wanted the game to remain competitive. Game is totally over if they rule it an int. Colts should have lost a timeout as well.
He didn't maintain possession when he hit the ground. The ball clearly comes out so idk how you can interpret that to be a catch.
@@Griggs58 the nfl apologized later on. Stating they made the incorrect call. It was a catch & fumble. Every analyst said it was incorrect. The official on the replay, his exact statement started with "the defender caught the ball." Even if something is close, the rule states go with the original call.
@@Griggs58 lol, it was a catch
@@Griggs58 he started to run and fumbled it and recovered his own fumble.... Even the stingy NFL went back on it man lol
Ray getting on to the coach is so funny 😂
Take Me Back To This Era Of Pittsburgh Steelers Football Good Times 🖤💛
They were so fun to watch that year, defense was nasty
The boat ride to the stadium would be so fun
I grew up in a Steeler home and watch them play every Sunday with the family. I live in cali and was at the charger/steeler game. That stadium was filled with steeler fans !
Steeler/Raven games were something different. There is nothing like them today.
NFL Films does a spectacular job putting these mini movies together
The older ones are way better tho
@@ABEdits7 like this one. With Harry calus.. This was one of his last nfl calls. He died the following spring. In the radio booth of a Phillies game
@@ABEdits7 he also did the play-by-play of nfl games on Westwood one radio. The lst game I remember him doing was the stillers at ravens in Dec. 08. I was at Seattle vs st Louis game and we had it on in the car on the way home
Santonio Holmes!!! Let’s Go Buckeyes!!!
Man....so many great leaders on this team. Such a strong locker room with this group.
Ray Lewis had great sportsmanship
I’m 31 now and I can say I had a lit time being a Steelers fan as a teenager 😇😇😇
That man Tucker on the charges lied to God at the beginning 😂😂😂😂
Being a kid watching the ravens Steelers rivalry was something I’ll never forget. Greatest time to be alive
Go go Steelers get down !! 😤
Troy Polamalu, real one, Pittsburgh legend forever, thank you for the sixth
Santonio Holmes didnt get enough credit for that playoff and SB run. He was stellar!!got the revenge vs Chargers for that backbreaking home playoff loss in back under Cowher.
Easily one of the best one man playoff performances ever. Wish we got more of Santonio
Except, you know, winning SB MVP
Santonio was the best man named Antonio on the Steelers
Love it!!!!!!!!!! Awesome year!!!
What a time to be alive
Flacco should have known better than to throw to Polamalu's side of the field but in his defense, the entire field is Troy's side of the field lol
Similar to Big Ben’s interception in the 2004 AFC championship to Rodney Harrison. A dumb thrown that turned into a pick 6 to seal the game
@@ABEdits7 both by QB's who were in their rookie year's

Beautiful.
what a beatdown on SD.. i miss potsie
Back when this team actually tried to compete for championships and wasn’t just satisfied with non losing seasons
Big Ben got a bunch of flack for it, but I think he was right. I think players mentality shifted a bit more me then we. Still good players, great players, on those teams that didn't get it done. But the ones that made those championships you felt a unity within their ranks.
@@Gungho73 That feeling of unity is what I feel with the team that we have now. We have a shot if we get some key pieces like a #1 cb and a oline to protect kenny
So tired of triggered old heads acting like winning a Superbowl is some easy feat. You sound ignorant or uneducated on football.
Big Ben took too much heat for that and honestly his stats he put up in his later years speak volumes. There's been a couple seasons where he literally carried the team on his back. But that super bowl loss against Green Bay was definitely on him and the offensive coordinator (Bowles was it? I can't remember). They were too focused on getting Ben the super bowl MVP because he should have won it the super bowl before instead of Holmes. The Packers had a WEAK run defense and a couple players they knew to exploit going into the game. But instead, they insisted on having Ben pass every play against a SUPER AGGRESSIVE pass rush defense in the Packers. But aside from that and like maybe the 06-07 season, Ben really rose to the occasion. I wish his teammates had the same mentality. Because they very well could have repeated the 70s Steelers and getting 4 more titles instead of two. But I'm still happy to see my team win two super bowl titles in my lifetime
These steeler teams were dawgs man.
Big Ben will be soooo missed
I knowww. But can't wait for the future
I almost cried nicca
My mom birthed me under the bleachers at 3 rivers stadium. LETS GO STEELERS !!!!!
🤣
Sad to see many of these football hits and physical game like this would be yellow flags all over the field...and I'm not talking about terrible towels. Football at its peak right here.
Anyone Remember? The Bus and Staley were Hurt.....it was Fast Willie that got us to the playoffs.....Undrafted Castoff.......then sets the record for Longest Run in the Super Bowl!
Different year but still great… 2008-09 was a vibe especially. Miss this Steeler football, hopefully we get 7 soon
@@ABEdits7 im with ya Brother.....too much Pgh Talent watching the Super Bowl.....we gotta Get Up!
That 2008 divisional championship game with the ravens had to be hands down the best game played yet. Man what a squad we had those years. What was the better squad the 70's Steelers or the 2000's Steelers?
Idk the 2000s Steelers were great especially since I grew up with it
9:04 Dear Baltimore "we advise you to backup, like Byron Leftwich" lol ~Eminem~
i dont get to remember them winning since i was born in ‘05
Damn that’s too bad that was so nostalgic hoping they get a 7 real soon
Mad respect for ray lewis calling out the plays in front of the coach lol
#43 got the interception at 4:43 to send them to SB43. Whoda thunk it.
That was Larry Foote, #50, at that time stamp.
@@krzykris It's not a time stamp, it's the point in the game Troy got the interception. Polamalu #43 got the pick 6 that sent them to Super Bowl 43, with 4 Minutes 43 Seconds left in the game.
None of these boys are left now😪
Been a while boys. Go Steelers!!!
We need this type of team again! We have all the type of players we need to be champions again, we’ve just become to soft
LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO STEELERS AND BEAT THEM CARDINALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
💯👍
Hopefully our D will be back this season.
It should be noted steelers fans that this was the season Brady got hurt week 1 vs KC
You mean Brady took a seat that year. Every NFL defense was gunning for him after that undefeated season
@@JS-yt1bl he tore his ACL week 1
He's soft he can never play hurt
So?
We do not care
I would love to have keezel, Harrison, and Troy on the defence with Watt now.
Yes definitely Brett Keisel. Him with Heyward would be unfair
THIS IS FOOTBALL!!!!!!!
What was the better squad 70's or 2000's Steelers?
My dad loves the Chargers
Hey bro this was a great video. boo Steelers haha I was thinking the whole time still thinking it
They needed to bury us🤔😂
at 4:13 you can see he juked the three guys and made one fall down and roll over
You can tell that ref liked the Steelers. 8 minutes baby!
nah time of possession just gets them excited
Seriously, dude. 😒
I think he was cold and happy that the time ran off the clock
So many of these guys just barely out of the league or still hanging in there..
The afc championship, Baltimore gets every call, 2 pass interference first and goal at the 1 bs freebies. Show me a game that the ravens don’t get a pass interference call to score a touchdown and I will give u my life savings
IT'LL NEVER BEAT THE STEELERS OF THE 1970'S!!!!!
I wasn't around for the 70's but what I've read and from stories I've heard, those boys were just ANIMALS!!!!
Sad to say we play our best wen used Ben to be a super game manager 😅wen we lean on him too much too many mybad moments coming from a die hard Steelers fan ❤
But at same time Ben came thur on a lit throws 💯😂
Luke 20:24 Shew me a penny. Whose image and superscription hath it? They answered and said, Caesar's.
RRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
What's a "Heinz Field"? Do you mean Acrisure Stadium?
A Heinz Field lol. Forever Heinz Field tho
Always Heinz Field.
Imagine having only one offensive play for an entire quarter...and it was an interception. Yikes.
Then what happened
They went on to win SB43 which was the best Super Bowl ever.
@@ABEdits7 hell yea
Best part of that season was beating the (wanna be steelers) Baltimore Ravens 3 times!!
3:32 not the Bill Cowher Steelers. L
😢 my x wife's team the Steelers 😉 My teams U know what they have in common? They all won a Superbowl at Raymond James Stadium 🏟️ Y so serious 😈🃏🥃
