Katya lives in a remote Ukrainian village, today you will see one day from her not simple, but real life. Cooking breakfast from organic homemade products, eggs just laid by chickens and homemade lard, and for lunch delicious boiled pork from homemade pork.
How lovely to see Katia again!! Why no vlogs about her and her family in such a long time? We see Maria and the other ladies a lot, but not Katia. Katia, how is your young one, should be starting to talk, and walking everywhere. And your dear Grandma, is she still in good health and with you to help with the young one. I pray that your husband is well and fighting for Ukrainian independence. Hope he gets to come home to see you and the family often. This is exactly what and why American men are leaving the USA to look or wholesome respectful and beautiful woman exactly like this. Half of the woman in the US can barley heat up a meal for you without pitching a fit . I enjoy watching people cook from scratch and raise their own food. The old ways,looks easy but would make interesting watching how city folk would cope in a whole year with no help,disaster I think. There’s a natural down to earthiness and beauty to this humble way of living, I imagine the same for hundreds of years. I learnt a lot watching this young lady going about some of her daily chores but imagine that’s not half of them!
There is nothing cool about poverty. There is nothing cool about subsisting. I respect the people that live this kind of life with dignity either by need or choice but I can't glory it. It muddy, it is cold, it is damp, it is drafty. It hard not to have indoor plumbing, get your gas in a 40l cannister you have to carry around, chop wood, light the fire every day, add and remove layers as you go about your day. Would never go back to living like this again if I have the choice. I like my commie block tenfold than living in the country side.
Finally! Katya is my favorite! I wish you would show her more! Her story is amazing. She young and resilient, please show her more often!

This might be of intrest to some - the wood heaters used in colder parts of the world are fired.difrently than say wood heaters in the US - When you saw her climb up on the back of the heater she opened the damper - They. Start a hot fire with a pile of wood and the stone absorbs the heat - After a while the heat radiates into the home - instead of continuesely feeding the wood or coal int the heater they might only fire it real hot a few times a day when they cook on it - once the would is burning hot and becomes coals - they close the damper off to hold the heat in the fire box - Those types of wood heaters have been used for 1000s of yrs - They slowly radiate the heat trough out the day and night after each firing -

Це колись так жили в селі,ще з дитинства пам'ятаю,але було також дуже цікаво і смачно:хліб з печі,гриби і сливи сушені,голубці,м'ясо тушене там.А зараз в селах газ,тому більшість живе комфортно і більш сучасно,особливо молоді.
А что молодеже делать в селе? Работы нет

From Denmark: As close as you can come to nature and self sustainment. Here in Denmark, we are spoiled. You just go to the supermarket, get what you want or even buy ready to warm cooked meals... Thx for sharing. Hope that peace will soon come to Ukraine/Russia, so the 2 people can again live in harmony with each other.🙏

From Venezuela: It reminds me of the times of my childhood where I lived on a family farm and we were self-sufficient in many things: eggs, fresh milk, poultry, vegetables, coffee and banana plants, oranges and many other things. Everything fresh and within reach.

Oh my goodness - fried bread - my favourite. My grandparents made this all the time but now it is frowned upon as unhealthy. Sometimes I do it in the fry pan when no one is looking! Love all your preserved food - had a bumper tomato, plum and potato season this summer in NZ. God bless your country, your family and keep you safe.

Щиро радію цьому відео,сумувала за моєю землячкою,за нашим поліським щоденним побутом.Жили собі люди мирно,трудились,щоденні клопоти приємно додавали радості і впевненості в завтрашній день,та два рки тому,біду принесла рашистська орда,чка здамала наш спокій,наші мрії,наш побут,нас бомбили і знищували і по сьгоднішній час спокою не маємо,хлопчики наші захищають свої родини,свою країну,багато жінок з дітками повиїжджали за кордон,щоб зберегти життя своє та дітей,та нема тут того,що є вдома в Україні,ностальгія за рідними людьми щодня гризе душу,а особливо,коли чоловік,брат,чи син чи дчдько на фронті,в небезпеці.Катя змарніла,стомлена і очі сумні сумні,а жити якось потрібно,ростити дитину і робити щоденну хатню роботу,а головне,щоб у її сім'ї склалося все якнайкраще.Тримаймося українці ,ми сильні.Привіт з Риму.Італія.

Wasn't too sure how that stew was going to turn out what with frying the carrots and onions in all that oil and then putting in back in the pot but that sure turned out good! Its a wonder how you stay so slim until I see how hard you work. No excess calories there when you burn it all up working so hard!! I love your heater/stove! I've seen that design in eastern Europe or Russia before and they are a fantastic piece of engineering. Thanks for sharing a part of your life.
