Yeah Wilder used to be my favorite fighter when I was a newer boxing fan. Like before the Furry fights but man I had to abandon ship real quick after the second fight. Mainly the fact that he can't handle a loss. Tryna blame the suit in shit no he was out classed and didn't adjust. I still have a soft spot for the guy because he's the one who got me into boxing but he's a straight up clown somebody. Joshua would fold him faster than fury

He never had a legit opportunity to fight AJ. They only sent him bogus flat fee offers with 0% revenue of gate and PPV. It was an insulting offer for the WBC champ at the time. They offered him like 10 mil with 0% of everything else. Even though AJ is the A side here, Wilder had the most prestigious belt and should have at least got 35% of the purse and part of the gate and PPV. I’ve never seen a unification fight where the most prestigious belt holder wasn’t offered a percentage of the purse/gate/PPV. A flat fee is ridiculous. Hern even said the Wilder/AJ fight wouldn’t make 20 mil or something when AJ was making 20+ mil per fight with Ruiz, Povetkin, and Parker. Although Wilder wanting 50/50 was absurd, he had the top belt but he was still the B side in negotiations.

But it was 10 mil not 15 and even if it eclipsed anything he made before Hern and AJ still would have made 50-70 mil on the wilder fight at the time easily. 20% or less of the purse is insulting. If that DAZN offer is real then yes I 100% agree. I just never knew about it. I’ll look into it though thanks for pointing it out.

It depends what you did in recent years determines your CURRENT Pound for Pound ranking. 8 division on paper. 2 paper belts and one he won at a catchweight (Superwelter but legit) but never entered that weight class. Even before these fighters, even if Pacquiao was a legit 8 division, he got whooped by Marquez and Mayweather who have less divisions and around the same size and weight as Pacquiao. Both were older and whipped Pacquiao.

Honestly I can't take wilder serious when he says he wants Joshua. The man had countless opportunities and kept making excuses.
Yeah Wilder used to be my favorite fighter when I was a newer boxing fan. Like before the Furry fights but man I had to abandon ship real quick after the second fight. Mainly the fact that he can't handle a loss. Tryna blame the suit in shit no he was out classed and didn't adjust. I still have a soft spot for the guy because he's the one who got me into boxing but he's a straight up clown somebody. Joshua would fold him faster than fury
He never had a legit opportunity to fight AJ. They only sent him bogus flat fee offers with 0% revenue of gate and PPV. It was an insulting offer for the WBC champ at the time. They offered him like 10 mil with 0% of everything else. Even though AJ is the A side here, Wilder had the most prestigious belt and should have at least got 35% of the purse and part of the gate and PPV. I’ve never seen a unification fight where the most prestigious belt holder wasn’t offered a percentage of the purse/gate/PPV. A flat fee is ridiculous. Hern even said the Wilder/AJ fight wouldn’t make 20 mil or something when AJ was making 20+ mil per fight with Ruiz, Povetkin, and Parker. Although Wilder wanting 50/50 was absurd, he had the top belt but he was still the B side in negotiations.

But it was 10 mil not 15 and even if it eclipsed anything he made before Hern and AJ still would have made 50-70 mil on the wilder fight at the time easily. 20% or less of the purse is insulting. If that DAZN offer is real then yes I 100% agree. I just never knew about it. I’ll look into it though thanks for pointing it out.

It depends what you did in recent years determines your CURRENT Pound for Pound ranking. 8 division on paper. 2 paper belts and one he won at a catchweight (Superwelter but legit) but never entered that weight class. Even before these fighters, even if Pacquiao was a legit 8 division, he got whooped by Marquez and Mayweather who have less divisions and around the same size and weight as Pacquiao. Both were older and whipped Pacquiao.
