Brad Holmes has been the Lions GM for 3 drafts. He has taken a total of 23 players in those 3 drafts. 22 players are still on the team. That's remarkable.
Outstanding
@@franciscorevuelta491 thats outstanding man
This shows 2 things: 1. Brad Holmes knows what he’s doing 2. The last GM left us in shambles 😂
If that stat doesn't tell ya anything as a hater, then you're just a loser in life that like to see people as miserable as you
Best GM in sports...
Another W for the real America's team
But this isn't a chiefs segment....
@@7211mmost people hate chiefs now . They are kinda the new pats
@@ChristopherR236 yeah it's crazy how success results in being hated. When mahomes won his 1st ring and ended the chiefs 50yr drought, everyone aside from SF & AFC WEST, was happy for them. Now ppl hate Mahomes and the chiefs. Mahomes could learn to walk om water and ppl would criticize and say it's cuz he can't swim.
@@7211m success and Taylor swift lol Fair or not lots turned on kc due to that Kelce swift duo
Detroit was good for one year. Nowhere close to Americas team….. This will be the first time in franchise history where they are expected to do anything. Let’s see how they handle the tiny bit of success they had last year…. All it took for them to win the North was Rodgers leaving the packers and then Kurt blowing out his Achilles……

Most franchises don't sell O-Line jerseys but I got a Penei Sewell #58 ... Let's go Lions
I've been waiting for that black alternate jersey to drop for #58 and I'll be right there with you!
Very few linemen get jerseys sold. Sewell, Kelce, Mailata, Johnson, Wirfs, are there any others that people are like "take my money"?
Pretty sure all the eagles oline jerseys sell
So do I...

I’m a die hard Lions fan. Sewell is the best player on that whole team no matter the position. Certified Dawg.
The best player in the NFL.
@@bradknack7420 nearly yeah, which is kinda insane
@bradknack7420 no lol a RT is not the best. Especially for a right handed QB LT and alot of other positions are more important. It's like saying the best punter in the league could be the best player...
@@inkarceration4069 you think Penei Sewell cant play left tackle? lol. Oh no he plays the 4th most valuable position in the NFL and not the 2nd 🤣surely thats equivalent to a punter
@@inkarceration4069 Go watch his tape. There isn't a player that puts in effort and dedication on ever single play there involved in. This guy blocks 30+ yard down the field, pancakes DE like no one else, and catches first downs. Oh and he's only 23 years old. How isn't he the best player in the NFL.
Both of them absolutely deserved it, so glad they are staying in Detroit🎉🎉
Peneii is already, at 23, the best tackle in the NFL... according to PFF. Trent Williams, at 35, is a close second. After those 2 is a BIG jump. Those 2 are 92.x... the next tackle is 84.8. Obviously PFF isn't everything, but its such a big jump, hard to argue Peneii isn't considered the most valuable Tackle in the NFL considering his age.
And Williams don't run 30 yards down the field to make a block.
@@bradknack7420 he used to. He's very fast.
TRISTAN WIRFS
@@bradknack7420 yes he does, lol. Go back and watch the Jacksonville game where the Db decided to run away from him, TWICE, lol. But that Lions OT is a STUD. He deserved more the St. brown IMO.
@@byronsmith3152 Nah St. Brown def deserved that extra 8 million. He was a 4th round pick and just put up a 1500 yd season whereas sewell was a first rounder
Both those Lions are going to be in the Hall of Fame one day with multiple Super Bowl rings!
With Hutch, LaPorta…. A dynasty is brewing…
Guess people can dream. SF and KC not going away, if Burrow is healthy, Bengals gonna be good, Texans gonna be good. Lions fans don’t have this in the bag. Lions can pay Ra and Sewell because their QB Goff doesn’t have top QB money yet but if he play well again, you bet he will. They got to win SB in the next couple years or need to trade guys around.
@@JasonB808 The Lions are already better than SF and they just addressed their only weakness CB…
@@mbeff75Gibbs, branch too
Brad Holmes is putting on an absolute clinic on how to manage the draft, manage the salary cap, and how to not be stupid in free agency. His original draft class just got paid huge $$, there is plenty of cap space looking forward, and he has reinforced the roster holes in free agency without overpaying like most teams. He will continue to draft the best player available instead of settling for sub par players based on need, and sends a message to the roster, that if you perform consistently you will be rewarded.
Sounds good - turning out to be one of the best franchises on all of sports
he reallt is following the philosphy of "we arent looking to get the best overall player, we are looking to get the player who is best for the team"
Every penny earned hof career ahead
Every "Peneii" earned

Penei was a LT. When we drafted him, he had to learn to play RT. Then Decker got hurt right before game 1 and Penei went back to LT against Bosa and the Niners in his first game. He locked Bosa down as a 20 yr old after not playing the position the entire camp.
Absolutely! I'm niners fan
Every “PENAI” Earned 😉
i like that sure is!
Goodnight
As a 45 year lifelong Lion's fan... this is great news. We should appreciate this times as it won't last forever-ever... 👊💪 ONE pride.
"if u play good you'll get paid" 💰
Such an interesting quote lol 🤡
Makes sense considering both are the best players on that team. Lions making sure they don't lose the best and getting back to post season
"we know their social media department not scared to throw a player under the bus" 😂
Penei Sewell is the Baddest Dude in the league.
He's a legit tough guy as well. Not afraid to mix it up. St Brown is also a tough guy, strange to say that about a Receiver, but he is.
Gosh the input AJ gives is just immaculate and adds so much to the show ...
Buckeye will buckeye
Players WANTING to sign extensions early even thought they know they can get more later. Being able to sign quality FA's without having to break the bank and overspend for them because the players want to come here. These are feeling I'm not used to processing as a Lions fan
Goff and Joseph are next then Hutchinson
Lions have shown that if u put in the work, youll get the bag
Oh man!!!! Been waiting for all of this info!! Definitely needed Sewell and St. Brown to stay if we wanted to keep this rollin!!!!
LETS GO LIONS!!!!! I started watching this show because it was the only progrum I could find that would cover the Lions when they were terrible. Thank u for the love you’ve shown the franchise & having legit coverage on the team every other outlet only has punchlines for. Maybe I missed it but aren’t u supposed to do a show in Detroit….on a bet??
Lions rockin it now
Decker did not get paid, this his last season, we just paid Sewell to be the LT they might even go Oline in the first round it’s our strength, Penei Sewells cousin Tackle could for sure be our first round pick
And I would not be mad at it
Decker has been paid before he was the highest non qb on Detroit’s roster
@Josh-qy5gv yep he's coming out of a lucrative contract. I hope he takes a little cut to stay beyond that one. Would love to see everyone stay together.
Hope not he a project maybe at 61-72
I Love Our O’Line The Foundation & 56 Sewell is Head of The Foundation Hutch is that on D’Line 97 ☝️🦁
Come to Detroit if you wanna win and get paid!
So happy to hear both of em are staying for the long term. Need to get me a Sewell jersey I got the sun gods jersey but big dubs for state of Michigan and city of Detroit 🦁
Banks in Detroit are out of money today. Well deserved for both fellas. Definition of DAWGs. 💪🦁💙
lets go LIONS BABY. LOVE IT
Ive been a Lions fan my entire life. My first NFL game was in 1978, when i was 6. Bought season tickets in 1996. I've been waiting for a real GM for years. We got him. DETROIT VS EVERYBODY
Sewell and St. Brown are the heartbeat of this team.
Goff will get his money sooner than later and Hutch will get paid next spring. It's crazy that the Lions actually have players worthy of these kind of extensions. Brad Holmes is the absolute best at what he does
These signings will send a lot of positive energy into the Lion's 2024-2025 Season... this will be good!🙂👍
these boys went ALL IN jealous of that roster
Diehard Lions fan - they do not need to win the Superbowl this year for me to be happy. Sustained success is what im going for. They'll get it eventually.
Lol imagine being the vikings and seeing this 😂😂😂
And now seeing that they’re projected to take JJ 💀💀💀💀
@@silversoulken they did
Pinei was a left tackle in college that moved him to right tackle. He’s an absolute unit in both tackles
Brad Holmes and Dan Campbell are built different. 💯 They are building a legacy team, and I'm here for it! 💕👍🏼💪🏼
Even as a KC fan I LOVE seeing the lions thrive. They have always been one of those teams that was struggling to win consistently. As an early 2000’s-present chiefs fan I deeply understand lol those 2-14 seasons are a struggle
Smart move Better to extend him now instead of waiting another season when there would’ve came to a higher asking price
Detroit as a city deserves some love and success. This team is helping that place come back to life.
Watching the Lions on some of there moves leave me in confusion...confusion on why it took Brad Holmes and Dan so long to get their spots at HC and GM
The Lions have one of the league's youngest teams, and once they extend Goff, they will have nearly the entire core of this talented young team locked up for the next few years. They correctly let Jonah Jackson leave for a big contract and still somehow made their offensive line better in the offseason. The defense is the obvious weakness, and although I would have done more for the pass rush, they addressed their biggest defensive weakness in the draft in rounds one AND two, managing to get maybe the best corner in the draft at 24, and two of the top five corners overall... they should be a very tough team to beat this year.
When Ton Diggs gives a zesty side-eye and says "they're paying him like a Left (tackle)" Diggs, you need to speak with Foxy more often before you try to take a silly swipe like that. Biff.
Well deserved 👏🦁
Lions are dolling it out
AJ Hawk always looks like he’s waiting for the segment to end because he has to use the bathroom
😂
:We were staring down the barrel of the first 0-17 season" No we weren't that was the last 16 game season lmao
Momma, there go THAT MAN.
Decker has one year left on his contract. Everyone in Detroit assumes Sewell is moving to LT after this year.
Love how if you hyphenated this (“show”)😂 it would be PMS! He acts like he’s always having it.
Let’s baby , we goin to the Super Bowl WE THE LIONS !🏆
At a certain point they won't be able to keep everyone, but this is literally what the entire fan base wanted them to do. There are three current Lions who MUST be lifers, 2 of the 3 are signed, and the 3rd will probably get his payday next year (Aiden Hutchinson). It'd be a bit of a bummer if they don't make a pick tomorrow night (by trading out), but that just means we'll need to wait a little longer for them to draft their NEXT franchise player. I have a weird feeling they might pull a surprise move into the top-20 though.
Great resignings, cornerstones for the franchise
Tristan Wirfs will top this signing after the draft watch!! Best LT in the NFL
Yes Sir 👏👏 🦁☝️
Sewell gonna move over to left tackle getting paid this much which means decker is on the doorsteps of getting traded or released maybe not this year but more likely next year
Decker is turning 31 this summer and has dealt with lingering injuries the last 2 seasons; he might be calling it a career soon or maybe taking a friendly deal and switching to right tackle to lighten his load for additional longevity. I'd love for it to be the latter.
@@GavinSwickI was thinking he might even move to left guard after this season. Only if the Lions draft a replacement for RT in this years draft or next obviously.
Sewell is still on his rookie contract for 2 more years then this extension kicks in, By that time I agree with @JK.Palomba. Decker moves inside to left guard.
@@damiendixon4479 I figured that would be an easier transition instead of moving to the opposite side and playing guard could probably prolong his career here as a Lion. Decker is a good tackle but he's never been necessarily great so any drop off in production will stand out especially while playing LT.
We paid those contracts to park yesterday
The Lions are the only interesting team to me now. They HAVE to win the Superbowl this year.
Stupid question. Does the salary cap go up every year or is it when roger says it’s going up?
pretty sure it goes up every year by a certain amount
Yea pretty much every year
The salary cap number increases nearly every year (with the exception of 2020 after the Covid pandemic). It is decided by dividing the percentage of revenues negotiated in the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) by the 32 teams in the NFL. The CBA says that NFL owners and players must split revenues (from media, NFL ventures/playoffs, and local); players are currently receiving 48% of profits. This year’s rise was a staggering $30.6 million, but the reason for such a massive increase is that the league decided to put right the Covid situation in one hit.
@@chuck7952 thanks bud. I appreciate you taking the time and giving a great explanation of it. Take care.
@@Kinghauler2012 You're welcome. I looked it up because I was curious how it worked myself.
Can someone pls explain why RT’s make less money than LT’s? Nowadays bc the opposing defense fears a great LT, they just send their best pass rusher at the RT in hope of a more favorable matchup. Hutch, Bosa, Garrett, Micah, all got more than half of their sacks vs the right tackle. If anything Bosa lined up across Taylor Decker at LT in the NFC Championship game bc Sewell is so dominant at RT
so most QBs are right handed meaning there backs to the LT, so if u have a bad LT the qb is at greater risk of getting sacked sense they have a higher chance of not seeing the rusher, the inverse works for the RTs, thats why LTS get payed more, if u got a lefty qb i supose it would be reversed but there rare.
@@Jorfy I get the righty QB thing, with LT’s protecting the QB’s blind spot, but imo it’s like the LT is a deterrent that is required to be utilized less often, bc the opposing defense’s best rusher will just switch sides and rush the RT, or vice versa in the case of Sewell at RT and Decker at LT. Sewell’s pass rush win rate might be higher than Decker’s, but Decker, but Decker’s snaps came against the better of two edge rushers. I think I’m rambling but for other teams, I see it as the LT getting more money based on skill (Trent Williams, Laremy Tunsil, etc…) but the RT potentially deserving equal money based on situational performance. Just food for thought. I appreciate your response!
Both no brainers
Please fix the audio
Money money money moneyyyyy
goff can have 42 mil anything over that he can walk and 42 is a reach for me
If they have another draft masterclass I could see 50 mil but no more than that
Penei will be a left tackle in two years, maybe Decker will be signed on one year deals depending on what they can sign at RT
Meanwhile Jerry and Stephen Jones,”we don’t have any cap space”…..
GO PACK GO !!!
Sewell was a left tackle his whole life until the nfl
Do they usually pay OLineman in their 3rd year?
if it makes the cap lineup
Just a way to get ahead of the cap and guarantee he is in Detroit for the first 9 years of his career
If he's the best or 2nd best tackle, you lock him asap and for long-term so the price doesn't keep going up.
He's going into his fourth year and is going to be a Hall of Fame player
Not usually, no. But most aren't clear-cut future HOFers like Sewell is.
Love Sewell since his first snap on the ducks. Suck rooting against him when he plays my niners
Peni is the best O lineman in the game
For everyone that thinks that this isn’t a good deal because Penai is a RT please understand that Decker only has a couple of years left. When the 40mil for penai’s first year of his contract kicks in (2026-27 season) Decker will be retired and Penai Sewell will become the Lions LT. It’s a genius deal! Salute Brad Holmes for being the best GM in football! Not to mention taking a 4th round receiver and ending up with a top 3-5 best WR in the game!
America's New Team is HERE TO STAY FOR A DECADE; IN DETROIT, MI
Some of these guys got more money than Michael Jackson did. Thats crazy
I need to hear AQ say out lout Penei Sewell is a better athlete than Trent Williams, or vice versa STAT!
Vikings gonna have to really pay JJ
$40 mill is the new price now. Brad Holmes playing the long con. Resetting the market forcing the Vikings to pay JJ more or he leaves. Brad might have just forced the biggest opp out of the division.
He can come to Detroit if the Vikings don't pay him.. he would love it here.. Detroit has such a good fun culture!.. it's like a fraternity but better.. It's FAMILY here
Pat said “uce signed for 85mil…” haha you’re invited to Sunday toonai Pat lol
Goff next, then Alim. His is another deal that needs to get done. Then they’ll have to make a decision on guys like Iffy Melifonwu and Derrick Barnes who are also finishing up their rookie contracts. I’d love to see them stick around but they might get some stupid offers from other teams.
Goff and Hutch are next, Alim after that then your talking LaPorta, Branch and Gibbs. Guys like Iffy, Barnes, Kirby, Rodrigo etc will sign team friendly deals or will be replaced with draft picks.
@@damiendixon4479 laporta branch and gibbs have 2 years left on their rookie deals. Iffy and Barnes are FAs after this season.
@@Brocuzgodlocdunfamdogson I know, I'm just saying that I think they will sign team friendly deals or Holmes will let them walk. Sewell also has 2 years left on his rookie deal by the way.

Great we just spent as a team $232, million on two players!!! Ticket prices, doubling, hotdogs, tripling parking, doubling!!! great! Now if we can sign maybe two or three more at that rate we can have five NFL superstars and 48 USFL rejects! - Back to nine and eight and eight and nine seasons ! Yahhhhhhh whoooooo!!
bro 1.) there are some quality depth pecies that could be fringe starters other teams 2.) u must be new to sports, if u were to look back at some absolute stout teams, u would see a strong core ( 5 superstars) and some fringe superstars and star players that are depth, . also those rejects make more money than ur faimlys worth ;)
Penei Sewell is a dawg
Can Detroit make a statue of brad Holmes
Deckers days as lions LT are numbered. Sewell will be the LT in a year
im great with the lions being known for their Oline
Not sure details of these 2 contracts but seems like they'll need to pay a QB eventually
Brad knows what he’s doing
If they can afford to pay their players that. They can afford to fix the city of Detroit

Damn it sucks cause ive been a big fan of decker
The north runs through Detroit!
There has been ALOT of good moves by quite a few teams that I think will bring quality of games notching up.
I love both players, but I am worried about putting so many eggs in so few baskets and now these 2 slow corners are drafted? sorry but "smartest man in the room" is creeping into my mind
I hope my nervousment is wrong lol
He’s the best there is period.
Peni deal actually 6 years
Penei was LT im sure that’s where he is going back to
I can see Pat still hates the Lions 😂
How can you tell??..😅
This is big considering they are wasting money on Cam Sutton's contract. Well it is big anyway, just more so considering they have that momey lost against the cap.
The cap went up over $30 million and they still have space left over………..
@silversoulken the cap went up over $30 mil for every team. The point is they are currently stuck with Cam Sutton's contract, which is a $12.7M Cap hit. That is $12.7M of money going to a player that will not play a down of football. It doesn't matter the Cap goes up $30M or $12B it's still a deficit compared to other teams. I'm glad Sewell and St. Brown got paid. Their contracts may be highest paid today but moving forward other number 1s will supplant them so having them locked down is a net positive.
