3 Leopards Have Epic Battle with Honey Badger
3 Leopards gang up on 1 honey badger but soon regret their decision when it chooses to fight back! 🤯 This incredible moment unravelled at &Beyond Kirkman's Kamp in the Greater Kruger. How will it end? Field guide Dan Fiser and business consultant Paola Murguia shared the story with LatestSightings.com: Send in your wildlife video here and earn money: www.latestsightings.com/partn...
"We were parked with a mother leopard and her two cubs, sitting on the Sand River bank. We followed them as they moved upstream. The two cubs walked into the reeds and we heard a loud commotion which the mother reacted to. Then all three appeared, wrestling with a honey badger."
"The honey badger was fighting back, instead of trying to run away, actually turning the tables at times."
"Our initial reaction was they had caught something, but we didn’t know what. We were shocked when we realized it was a honey badger because they are well known for being fearless and tough animals. The three leopards took turns trying to take the honey badger down - an unfair battle one would think. The sighting ended with the honey badger trotting off as though nothing had happened. This was a once-in-a-lifetime sighting."
"An unbelievable battle between two naturally shy and tough animals. Never underestimate the underdog."
Although it is unclear why the three leopards took on the badger, they soon realized the badger was not going to give in without putting up a fight. We are utterly privileged to witness sightings like these in nature!

What battle involving a Honey Badger ISN'T epic?! I love how the badger doesn't even try to escape into the tall grass, he'd rather face one leopard after another, circling back until they've all had a taste of his wrath. Ultimately, the fight isn't over until the Honey Badger decides that it's over. 😂👑🏆

I feel like each honey badger fights for the species and not just it’s self. “You might get me today but you’ll think twice before you attack another one of us in the future.”

I'm pitty with this animal he walks with pain too many bites.
@@phil-pakfuntv9398 I hope that animal survives.
@@ederarroyave8136 The key is the skin. Honey badgers have skin thicker than a buffalos. They also have extremely loose fitting skin which they can effectively move around in. If a predator grabs it, they simply slip out of that bit. It's superb evolution for evading predator bites.
The badger seemed actually disappointed at the end. "That's it?" He went to find a better opponent, one which would require at least 30% of his power.

It's like Arnie walking away from an explosion
HBs may have evolved to do that because running would be a poor survival strategy for them. They can't run quickly enough to make the effort worth it, so they conserve energy. Plus, running all out might trigger an instinctive pursuit response in the leopard, even after they gave up their fight.
I think it was a gal!
@@pleco101 Honey Badgers have incredibly thick skin, which they can turn around in completely. As soon as a big carnivore actually pins them down for a bite, these little bastards turn around no matter how strong the hold is and bite them right back. Bites that you would look at and think _surely that would kill the animal_ is something they routinely shrug off. I can almost guarantee you that the badger did not have any serious wounding afterwards.
@@pleco101 Yeah, any animal is going to lose from time to time. Maybe it was old, maybe it was injured, maybe it was an off day, or maybe the animal it went up against it had it's number from the start. I can tell you this though: I would give no human being on earth a chance against these little guys in unarmed combat. Not prime Mike Tyson, not Brock Lesnar, not Bruce Lee, not Stipe Miocic, not a Navy SEAL or a Green Beret. I don't see any human being being able to muster the kind of force necessary to kill one of these little monsters.
Honey badgers maxed out their defense stat and still had points to spare.

What I also noticed is that the badger seems to prefer fighting bigger leopards. He doesn't even seem to attack the smallest one. He just charges for the two adults. What a badass.

the mom was like "nah I've tried this before, but y'all go ahead"
Young Leopards, that’s why they’re together. They learned early on about the kind of animals they can kill or not so easy kill.
The mother leopard wasn’t there to tell them that’s a bad idea so they had to learn this lesson the hard way 😂
That's it, young and stupid, thought it was going to be some easy fun, some times the little guy is tougher than you think,, pound for pound there's nothing in Africa tougher
Exactly, they were young leopards and had to make their own kill. Mom was there and not helping. If she had helped. That badger would be dead . But her cubs have to learn to kill on their own. And learn that also means they will get hurt in the process. I’m sure she’s made kills and taught them to go for the neck. But kids and cubs being kids and cubs and not paying attention, they allowed the badger to win. That badger didn’t live so long by being an idiot. He knew they were young cubs. Badger: always assess the situation first before getting into a fight for life.

Funny part is that after I read the title I was more worried for the leopards than the 🍯badger. They have absolutely no fear hahaha
Leopards are like Putin: they used to winning but pure intimidation and just don't know how to handle it when they encounter actual resistance . Honey badgers are like Ukrainians: they don't hold back anything and fight with everything when encountering aggression. Notice how the badger uses his back feet to rake the leopard's head. The real irony there is that raking with a back feet is one of the cats prime methods. It's more effective when what you're fighting is bigger than you are. Which is why the badger was able to use one of the leopards' own weapons so effectively against them. There are some advantages to being the underdog. Underdogs at win are the ones that understand that and use them to full advantage. This is why Ukrainians are ripping Russia to shreds. When an aggressor puts you in an untenable position, find ways to take advantage of that position.
