Will Israel Respond To Iran? US Says Yes

2024 ж. 15 Сәу.

US Intelligence believes Israel’s response to Iran’s attack will be a strike within the country. With officials believing they’re weighing a narrow and limited strike inside Iran because they feel like they have to respond kinetically due to the scale of the Iranian attack. They also think they’ll go after Iranian proxies in the region. Now Iran says the “smallest action against Iran’s interests will be met with a severe, extensive, and painful response”. There is a pretty intensive effort by G7 countries to try to get Israel to not respond or to make it like a very small response. And Netanyahu is reportedly declining calls from everyone but Biden in an effort to ignore their pressure. So now Germany and Britain are sending their foreign ministers. But Israeli officials maintain that they have to respond to Iran. And The US says if Israel doesn’t do it, it’s confident that there will be de-escalation and the situation will go back to normal

Iran would have been well within their rights to do an all out war since their territory was attacked by Israel. Any further action by Israel is just goading Iran into a war. The ball is in Israel's court. Talking about Iran escalating or deescalating doesn't make sense, cuz it's not their action to do anything right now they already did something. @playea123@playea12313 күн бұрын
    • @@playea123 US embassies and military bases in the Middle East have been attacked by Iran and its proxies before. Most notably, in 1979 Iran even took hostages in a US embassy, which led to a crises that lasted for over an entire year. Not to mention frequent attacks with mortars, rockets etc. that happen quite regularly in Iraq. Not once did the US respond by sending a similar number of projectiles. Get your facts straight. As for Iran coordinating with the US. The US itself claims there was no communication with Iran prior to the attack (only during the attack). A Turkish source, however, claims that Turkey served as an intermediary. In other words: there's a dispute. "that was meant to be intercepted and cause little harm in order to save face." That's a bit too much of an assumption. Whilst Iran certainly launched the attack, in part, to satisfy hardliners within its own country and the prior warning does suggest Iran didn't want to escalate too much; don't just assume the attack was that innocent. Iran could've been testing the waters, to see what Israel's capabilities were and who'd be willing to aid Israel. Obviously, Iran isn't in a position to fight Israel on its own.

Good question let me explain how a saturation attack works. First you send a wave of trash and BS at your enemy's air defenses, forcing them to expend their missiles, then once they're out of ammo or near enough you send the real attack with your best weapons. Iran did the first part but they chose not to follow through.

      @ydiabO@ydiabO12 күн бұрын
    • @ydiabO I completely agree with you. But did you really think Iran expected 99% of them to get intercepted? 170 drones and 130 ballistic missiles plus a dozen cruise missiles at a minimum (the reported numbers are all over the place). Of course they knew most would get intercepted. Typically, at least 90% of what gets shot as Israel gets intercepted. But with that big of a swarm they must have hoped that they would get something out of it, at least one kill. Not simply injuring a little girl

    • @hamubice1551 honestly Iran probably expected all of them to get intercepted otherwise they won't give 72 hours advance notice and slow moving drones they also probably already cordinated with USA and other Arab countries as Iran after the attack said they do not wish to escalate which is advised by all of isreal's allies including USA:v Iran probably just attacked to save face
