The blood trail dream sequences really messed with me back in the day. The game blew me away though. I don't think many games hit as high of an emotional note as this one. It's gritty and raw. Not until something like The Last of Us really. I mean, Max witnesses the death of his wife and kid right off the bat. So crazy.

I feel a lot of affection for this video. It’s a real window into how the video game industry was in 2001 before it became such a huge conglomerate. A handful of dudes who are close friends sharing a vision, and working together and having lots of fun and laughing. You rarely see this behind video game production now. It’s so sterile and cold-just imagine an Ubisoft warehouse filled with people sitting at computers silently crunching out a product to meet a deadline. There’s little love or affection. I firmly believe that a work of art produced with lots of love and affection will be transferred into the art itself, and into the consumer.

True that

Still holds up to this day. Incredibly solid gameplay and the graphics are great for a 2001 game.
Beta in 1998, release in 2001? I guess that says everything why such legends were born in this era of games, but not today anymore.
Nowadays companies like EA don't give a shit about a feedback from open-beta.. all they care about is their share price and their investors.. they have a deadline and no matter in which state the game is they still release it.
Some games only care about money or make games only for graphics so graphic bois can rate it 10/10 just for the graphics I hate the new Era. The old games actually wanted people to enjoy their games and they updated it to make it more enjoyable like splinter cell chaos theory , roblox and minecraft
