RIP, James McCaffrey. Just as Max Payne is being "revived", this happens. Max Payne won't ever be the same without your voice.
I hope they have a stash of sound clips they can use to do the new reboot. Not hearing his voice in the games if they decide to do that will not be right..

Yes the first two games were the third game made him into a naive idiot, or apparently wasn't a literal detective, who got treated like an idiot, who worked with idiots. I just wish Rockstar give remedy the license to make an actual third game.
Mods! There were some amazing mods made for this game.
This game was as close to the "Matrix" experience we were looking for as teens in the 2000's so it's really a game of its own, in its own era. Now games are too formulaic to garner any attention when they deviate from the formulas that sell, and it's a cycle that feeds into itself as bigger companies took down independents with a vision and creative control. Now it's all screened, censored, watered-down of its original intent, and delivered to the public as a triple-A game worth 80 - 120 dollars pre-order with or without the DLC. Nothing new under the sun.

@Johnny Apple Seed I'd settle for a remaster of 3 if all they did was remove the lens filters on the cutscenes or make it a toggle option. But another world could be possible. The control-verse would allow them leeway into making a spin off.
At least the trilogy is backwards compatible on Xbox now!
Respect seeing a company in tune with understanding the old titles still are important.

Way too sad news to hear about James' lost battle with cancer. He made the character, he is the character... nobody will ever be able to truly replace him in his role, he was too iconic. Just like Michael Ironside with Sam Fisher or David Bateson as Agent 47.
"There are no choices. Nothing but a straight line. The illusion comes afterwards, when you ask 'Why me?' and 'What if?' when you look back, see the branches, like a pruned bonsai tree, or a forked lightning. If you had done something differently, it wouldn't be you, it would be someone else looking back, asking a different set of questions."
Damn that's a good quote. I read it as personal self-reflection any one of us could make on the fact that essentially there is no free will. You'd always make the same choices in life because they are the result of your specific experiences, your preferences, even your basic physiology. That's why the only way those choices could've been different is if they were made by a different person, who'd then be looking back at them in a completely different way.
I understood the quote from the point of view that we, as persons, are sums of our actions, and that, if at a past time we have performed a different action, we wouldn't be the same person at this moment.

Channels statistics hanging in the air, glimpsed out of the corner of my eye. Endless repitition of the act of liking, commenting, and subscribing, time slowing down to show off my moves. The paranoid feel of someone observing my every step.
Man if he had said that I would have probably crapped my pants laughing
That would have been hilarious if he said that

That leather jacket is a piece of gaming history like no other. Deserves to be in some kind of museum!
it belongs to a museum
Totally true! Iconic, especially now seeing it in this context! Enshrine it! Insure it! Share it!
It definitely is in a museum in London. 😉
It’s actually a duster. It’s flame retardant. It won’t burn
