Shame you didn't do a differential heat treatment. Bearings are usually made out of high carbon and chromium steel, which means you can make it very hard. Hard blades hold edge better, staying sharp for much longer, but are more brittle and prone to damage than softer steel. Which is why some blades- most notably Katanas- are differentially hardened. You get blade with exceptionally hard edge and much softer spine- traditional Katanas go even a step further and are made out of multiple different kinds of steel (high carbon edge, medium carbon sides, low carbon or even straight up iron core)- which prevents potential cracks from spreading and damaging the whole blade or even breaking it in half in most extreme cases. You get the benefit of extremely hard edge without having to worry about the whole blade breaking.

@bradleyj.fortner2203 Жыл бұрын
To make a good sword, you need at least two types of steel with different amounts of carbon in them, one for the spine and one for the edge, otherwise, you have a brittle sword. You also need it to be solid and without cool-looking holes, which make the sword even more brittle. And you need it to be sharp enough that it cuts through flesh and bones, not just water bottles. A sharp katana cuts through many pieces of bamboo in one masterful swing. All in all, this is in no way a good sword, but it is a cool-looking toy.

How long did it take you to make and very well made very nice sword
Is it just me, or does this blade look like Sundowner's blade from MGR.
I thought it looked like raidens
Good one
nice👍👍
Bravo mec
Almost looks like something a mandalorian would use , just made out of a bearing instead of Beskar 👍

Está hermosa 😍👏
😊😊😊
And its gotta be made battle ready weight 30 pounds swing amazing power amazing if any black smith can make this I bet 2000nds people would want to buy it especially if it comes out original and super bad ass and very very sharp

O mano está preparado pra algum Apocalipse zumbi 😮
무겁고 튼튼한데... 일대 일 싸움이라면 좋지만,전쟁터라면 너무 힘둘겠다.

Só tem gringo aqui em fim deve ter dado muito trabalho parabéns
nice weak spots gj
You have to do a bamboo cutting test to determine the strength of a sword. a bad sword will usually break.
I bought this exact sword from Amazon 😂, I can’t tell if that’s where you got the design or if it just clicked, but nice work
👌🏻
You have inspired me to make something similar
