The Paint Problem in The Chateau Cottage. Ep 8
Bonjour and welcome to another update from the chateau cottage.
This week Tracy shows us the fantastic floor throughout the salon and lobby that Tony has been working on non stop in the cottage, Tracy also starts fitting some of the finishing touches with the beautiful brushed brass window locks for each of the windows, but has a little problem along the way, along with trying to mix her own paint which should be a lovely soft green but go's a little wrong and has to dash out to get a replacement.

About us,
We are a family from the North-East of England following our dream to restore a beautiful abandoned french Château. We discovered the heart stopping Château De Lalacelle in summer of 2020, this beautiful architectural monument Is set in the countryside of North-West France.
The moment we visited the Château we all fell in love, from the beautiful sweeping landscape and forests, to its stunning untouched interiors and magnificent spiral staircase in the turret.
Unfortunately Château De Lalacelle has been abandoned for a number of decades so will need a lot of restoration and DIY.

I really like the new paint color for the cottage salon. Tracy smiled so big when you guys were talking about Christmas trees. Jonathan seems to be such a happy little boy. 😊

I was laughing out loud watching this video. You don’t get down no matter how hard the task. What a wonderful way to bring up Jonathan. My parents bought a ruin of a house when I was his age and I learned to do all kinds of stuff all kinds of things by the time it was finished 😂
It would look lovely with a glass panelled door fitted between the kitchen and stair case, would reflect more light and not feel so closed in.

Love this channel. The work looks great. Have you got enough kw of electric coming in to run a lot of electric radiators ? It is quite restricted in France.

I am confused why you wld put a cool coloured tile on the floor then choose a warm colour for the walls. I really like the white walls - it looks so modern and clean. Despite all that what a wonderful job you are all doing.
Love the window catches and floor tiles - looking forward to seeing the finished painted room. Tracy you need more Christmas tree lights - I have just bought 1000 new lights for our front garden and feel I need more. They are to replace quite a few very old lights - you can never have enough lights is my motto 🎄🎄

Wonderful progress and a nice new color! A tip for Tracy: You can buy plastic curtain clips that you can hook on the wooden rings. The other side hooks into the ribbon on the curtain itself. I know them because my mom has them on her curtains. It makes it very easy to take hook the on and off for washing. I'm sure they must be available at any haberdashery in France. Just bring a ring to the shop and they will understand what you need.
Has Tony grown his Movember moustache lol lovely family entertainment once again.
💗 so I have the extra same poles and you can buy plastic hooks for them…not in the diy stores tho!…I bought mine from the Singer shop in Villeneuve sur Lot….they look like a question mark ? Maybe try a local haberdashery shop.

Window handles look great quite elegant.. Once the floor is grouted and the walls are painted the lounge is pretty much there by the looks of it guess the stairs are almost to the same level. Really coming together nicely, looking forward to Sundays video and see how the work in the Chateau is coming along.. I assume that you don't really get enough winter sun to make solar panels worth while in the cottage, especially when the snow comes lol.. anyway take care and keep up the good work Robb Torremolinos Spain xxx
We made the same mistake with the curtain pole rings, you have to buy the plastic attachments separately (using the correct ring size), the attachments have a hook for the curtains. (When we screwed in metal eyelets the rings split). I'm so enjoying your vlogs
