You forget the fact that Colby had a new team and special coaches for 2 years almost they’ve legit been planning this fight for last 2 years that’s why Colby been sitting out, everyday preparing to avenge his loss with an ultimate plan with some top heads no doubt Colby will come out real hard and show a more technical, rounded performance. Kamaru’s striking game has recently improved alot to a scary level which can knock out anyone any second if they ain’t super cautious but I just feel Colby will have some good tricks up his sleeve too he’s been preparing, without a doubt usmans toughest challenge, lol I think Colby is so funny and him bring champion would be pretty crazy, but if usman can seal the deal he’ll have cemented his legacy legit lapping the division, you can make all the analysis you want but from the last fight and the time passed it’s gonna be an insane war which I’m dying for…
But did it really improve that much? He got clipped a few times in the first Masvidal fight, got rocked bad by Burns (who gassed out later on) and we all know Masvidal underestimated his punching power kept his hands low (for possible takewonds) and had is chin right up in the air. So i dont really know if his striking is so much better now. If colby brings the fight to him, I'm sure we will see the same Kamaru. Colby as cardio for days doesnt gas out and keeps is hands up all the time, so if Kamaru goes head hunting it will be a long night. As for colby I liked his kicks in the first fight. He needs to throw more leg kicks, usman isnt good at checking leg kicks. And dont forget the body kick which ended in kamaru faking a nut sot. And I'm pretty sure we will see some grappling exchanges. That can favour colby because of his cardio and take some of usmans power. I think he looked a litte bit gassed in the first masvidal fight.

Usman won the ultimate fighter and became champion without Trevor Whitman, with Trevor and his boxing, Usman is gonna rain for a while, dude isn't 19-1 by luck, he's peaking right now , and he has an amazing chin, you have never seen him like dizzy and in trouble, even with Burns punch, he ate it and kept going, usman in 3rd round max against colby , colby can't finish usman he doesn't hit with enough power, but usman can finish colby so expect 3rd round finish , and still! And I like colby but he's not the guy to dethrone Usman!

I recently re-watched this fight, I love both of these fighters, but I am rooting for Colby so we can get the trilogy. One thing I noticed, Usman did not get kicked in the nuts that last fight. He certainly did some acting.
He got kicked easy to see. His shorts material moves as a result of the kick. That would be impossible if the kick occured above the belt.
100% correct...didn't look like he got finger to the eye either, it was a punch,,and Colby was all over him..

I have learnt to love Covington since their fight. He solidified that when he dominated Woodley. His gimmick is also very likable. He has a crazy personality that he maintains regularly while he genuinely has a heart.

I think usman letting Colby come forward won him the first fight. It's a lot easier to counter a fighter who is coming forward. Unless Colbys striking is significantly better I think he needs to slow the pace and counter usman or go for the take down. I think Colby has better wrestling.

We win, get to see a re-run of one of a fight of the year candidate. Realisticly either one of these guys could walk away the winner. To say that one doesn't have the skillset to beat the other is something I can't see as plausible. Should be fireworks again
Well see after the rematch. Colby only landed 36 percent of his strikes and didn't do much damage and wasn't able to drop Usman. Usmans striking has only gotten better and he's fought more so it's hard to see how Colby posseses the striking skillset to beat Usman. The only unknown is how they grapple with each other but I think for Colby this is a scary area because of Usmans strength. Usman does a better job than Colby at controlling opponents and has never been taken down while undersized guys like Woodley and RDA took Colby down multiple times. So does he having the grappling skillset to beat Usman ? Maybe but doesn't seem like it Seems like Usman is better everywhere. Better chin, more power, better more accurate striking, better grappling..well see man. This will be great fight because every Usman fight is great now as he's approaching that goat level.

2:54 Common misconception(I don't know how), but Usman IS a high volume striker. Just check the stats. Usman threw 390 strikes against Tyron Woodley which is more than Colby threw against Tyron. And he threw 343 strikes against RDA, which is more than Colby threw against RDA. And in both of these fights Usman wrestled much more than Colby did against these opponents. Yet Colby is more known as a volume striker. These are OUTRAGEROUS numbers of volume. I wouldn't even label Usman and Colby as volume strikers though, they're pressure fighters. Besides Usman's last 2 fights, the amount of volume that he would attack his opponents with was relentless.

That is true but a lot of that volume comes from ground and pound. For strictly striking usman doesnt throw nearly as much volume as colby does. Total strikes dont really show the whole picture
