Hikaru Nakamura drew his 13th round game at the FIDE Candidates 2024 against Ian Nepomniachtchi. After the game ended it was clear that Hikaru will be facing Gukesh in the final round. During the interview it was not clear whether Gukesh would win his game against Alireza, so Hikaru speaks about how he is preparing himself for the final round. We also talk about the rapid tiebreaks, Hikaru's role in changing the world of chess and would he be open to some meetups!

It just strikes me after seeing a couple of videos that Hikaru is very focused on time management over the course of his games. I mean, most GMs probably are, but few are as explicit as he is about it. One of my favorite players.
Showing the board when Hikaru explains the game is very appreciated. I am not at a stage in my chess journey to simply visualize the board in my head and throw around knight in c3 and Queen in h4, etc.

He's right about FIDE. Even from the outside, it looks kind of lowballed -- lacking some prestige that it rightfully deserves. OK, so Chess is not football, but FIDE can dramatically invest more in order to grow the scene. We're living in a social media world. It counts, and also gives a better and a more competitive feeling to the players themselves.
