    • LOL yep he's right though i just bought TS4 and looking through everything and the stuff in them the Stuff Packs are a rip off and designed to make more money off naive people or those younger than us who weren't playing TS2 :P which is normally younger people, i looked at the stuff and i was like "PFFFTT" haha! :P and most of the Expansions i don't find remotely good either. The only ones worth buying really is Seasons, City Living, Cats and Dogs and Working Life and Working Life is pretty much TS2 Open For Business, although OFB was broken and no good cos the Sims algorithms were no use especially in Community Lots they just walked around and Socialized not interacting with stuff unless it was something Food related, Pool Tables, Swimming Pools and that Party game, looks like they fixed it all in TS3 and 4 though so it looks more fun and more Sims are actually generated rather than just 8 Sims in TS2 lol, so i can't wait to play that.

  • Outdoor retreat is good for doing rags to riches and u can’t afford a proper home yet

    @anigodess@anigodess4 жыл бұрын
    • I'd agree, I love using the tent and the cooler for that, but if you just grind up collectibles, you can put a roof piece on the ground, then buy a door and a bed. Also, Tiny Living outranks Outdoor Retreat by a mile if that's all you want. Put down a patio for the Micro home, buy an easel with your collectibles money, keep some produce on your Sim and plant the rest (if you snagged any), then grind paintings for a full day until you can buy a proper Micro home. Considering how small those are, you could easily afford enough to make it look less terrible with how fast the skill will go up and improve the worth of the paintings. If you grind collectibles to get the Digitalistic Sketchpad (I forgot how much it is but I think it's double the price of the easel) or just buy the easel first and then switch as soon as you can afford it, you can churn them out even faster! (Although you need a wall to put them on if you want to sell for fame.) Even fishing for money would be enough if your Micro Home lot is near a fishing hole since the buff extends to the open neighborhood. :)

  • For Outdoor retreat, Little Miss Sam has a small mod that removes bugs as herbalism ingredients, and I thiiiink it swaps them for other plants. It makes herbalism a lot easier at home. I know she also has a small mod for Parenthood involving the bulletin board that allows you to assign chore lists! It always bums me out that modders are adding more depth than the actual game team though. I remember someone on Facebook had fairly pointed out that a lot of the expansion, game, and stuff packs should have been combined and released under one expansion to begin with, and I think they’re right.

    • Dine Out is just broke LOL same as they did with TS2 Open For Business, Working Life already gives you the ability to build restaurants and cafés then run them all Dine Out helps you with is... well... a few extra features to help you customize it more but it's too much they need to stick to something more simple but they're just wanting to sell things off in pieces for cash soo... just don't be so quick to invest in things no more. I thought they were already totally pushing it during The Sims 3 of asking people to re-buy the expansions all over again, i couldn't do it after buying half the expansions of TS2 already and TS1 plus Double Deluxe. Festive Stuff wasn't free in TS2 so i wound up re-buying the Base Game to get Festive Stuff cos i had to cos it was also Digital Deluxe Base Game so Festive Stuff wouldn't run with the original one, they can bugger off now tho the cheeky sods LOL i've probs invested over £100 on them now just buying Digital Double Deluxe for TS4 since i want to start playing it but it's just "improvements" they could have given us in TS2 like the Build Tools for example, Are they telling me they couldn't have given us that then? lol i'm not daft at all. All i can say is after TS5 comes out it's defo gonna be their last and a lot of us have only just gotten into TS4 and already they want TS5? they aren't going to make much off that they're already trying to push harder to get us to buy the expansions, The Sims 4 to me is as good as it's going to get.

    • There’s also certain things in expansion/stuff/game packs that I think could’ve been patched into the Sims 4. For example, the University expansion pack does a complete overhaul of the roommate system. It made playing with roommates actually pleasant and interesting. Considering how many people have roommates in real life it’s a shame you basically have to have University to have a roommate.

  • 0:21 - Outdoor Retreat is a fun change of pace, and if you really like the outdoors and camping, it's going to be perfect for you. If not, you'll visit it once, and rarely again. Also, herbalism skill really is useless once you leave, which sucks because those remedies are pretty useful. Buy it on sale or in a bundle. 2:42 - Spa Day is my favorite game pack of all time. It's full of ASMR so it's great to play with headphones. If you play athletes or parents a lot, it's always fun to treat your spouse with a Spa day. I found myself splurging on in-home spa stuff whenever my sims got too rich. Also, it's great for fishers because now you can turn your catch into pets with an aquarium. It's worth the full price. 3:58 - Dining Out is a mess from start to finish. Owning a restaurant is kind of fun, but going to one is worst and the service is always super slow. It took my sims 8 in-game hours to get served at a diner with 4 tables. It's annoyingly buggy and you can't even skip out on a meal. (whilst terrible to do in real life, this has always been my go-to in Sims 2 for rags to riches sims) Here, they will MAIL THE BILL TO YOUR HOUSE. What the heck is even up with that. HARD pass. Don't even buy it, but if you must, buy it on sale or in a bundle. 5:52 - Vampires pack is great...if you like vampires. I don't like occult stuff, but I don't hate it either. To me, it clashes with the world I've built. The gothic decor and outfits feel a bit outdated. I get it if this were released at the height of those Twilight movies (Like in Sims 2 and 3) but today it feels outdated. I played as a Vampire only once for the aspiration heck of it and immediately reverted back to a human. Buy it on sale or in a bundle. 9:19 - Parenthood is the only pack you SHOULD get if you're saving up for a game pack to really spice up realism gameplay. If you love playing for families, or large families at that with autonomy on, this can quickly become a challenge to manage. This is great for players who feel too hands-off from their children sims and want the real challenge of raising a kid that the base does not have. Worth full price. 12:05 - Jungle Adventure is another vacation spot and is better for Young Adults, Adults, and (maybe Elders) to play Indian Jones for a week. But be prepared to have an inventory full of crap you will never use once you're not on vacation. Buy it on sale or in a bundle. 15:58 - Strangerville. Skip this, really. 19:00 - Realm of Magic is another game pack that feels outdated. In a post Harry Potter world, this pack appeals to the occult lovers. Similar to Vampires, I played it once and never again. The bonuses to being a caster are everything we have already disguised as magic. Skip this, really.

I just got the game this past week, so I’ve been looking at the various packs. For game packs I have Parenthood and Outdoor Retreat. I’m still thinking about the others. Most likely I will get all of them eventually, but I love occult stuff, so I want them all, which is funny because so far I haven’t gotten any of the packs with them. It’s funny the packs that appeal to me for one specific thing, such as Get Famous, because apparently that’s where giving people keys come from.

They can sell it again and i'm pretty sure people are gonna buy it, although some of it is just broke like Open For Business and i find it boring the NPCs don't browse stuff in Shopping Centers/Parks that you build they just socialize, eat from the snack machines which keep them there a while longer then leave... put in a café and they just completely ignore things all together and Home Businesses? forget it... you wound up selling the same couple of items that actually earns you profits lol, i dunno but a lot of people still play TS2 i do too. • 1) I was disappointed with Realm of Magic. It should have been an expansion pack with a larger town reminiscent of Moonlight Falls or Midnight Hollow from The Sims 3. 2) The spell categories (Mischief, Untamed, and Practical) should have each included one (1) that can induce death upon the target for those who play darkly inclined stories-think Deatheaters. 3) Also there is a mod by Zero that prevents mortal Sims from entering the realm of magic. 4) I'd also recommend the weather spell mod for those looking for a dynamic spell.

Good overview, fairly pointing out the features (and their lack) and helpful to people deciding on what to add (or not) to their collection while making the entire video enjoyable on another level with your humor! I’ve a mod that removes the insects from anything edible for the herbalism skill, and adds a much larger number of plants per recipe to both make it a bit of work, and to take advantage of my garden(yay LMS!) as I find the thought of eating bugs on purpose fairly revolting. Been playing a lot lately and your Super Sim videos and list is enormously helpful! Mortimer’s brief cameo in his green briefs made me snicker! Also a romantic benefit in Spa day (woo hoo/try for a baby) in the spa itself. Hidden Hollow also has more night hours than other worlds if you are thinking of a residence for your vampire that is allergic to sunlight. And the adventure pack has the statue of maria that has unique madonna powers. Also thank you for captioning this as I am deaf.

Also I agree with everything you said in relation to the games, sims better step it up or they're going to be left in the dust. With games like Red Dead Redemption and GTA continuing to raise the bar on a game (without sucking their customers dry with such small features in expansions). Still cant believe they didnt even have toddlers in the original game. Sims 4 is all about giving us the least while expecting the most $$$ with sims 1-3 at least the expansion packs were worth all the added gameplay experience.

    • It's such a matter of personal preference I couldn't ever say, "Buy this pack" because they stick tightly to a theme most of the time and not many things go outside it. Like, without use of Vamps, you are unlikely to play with anything in that pack. I'd say most people should consider which ones they DON'T want for now and go from there.

      @CarlsSimGuides@CarlsSimGuides4 жыл бұрын
    • I agree. It totally depends on your style and how you play. This guide is great for telling you about the features, so watch and decide what suits you. Eg Vampires is good if you’re into supernatural play (better than Realm of Magic). Outdoor Retreat adds interesting features and is useful for challenges if you play those (like the History Challenge or the Legacy Challenge). Parenthood is great if you play families... and so on.

  • When it comes to vampires and realm of magic. they can be fun to just try what you can do all those spells and skills and potions. I only tried to play as vampire and spell caster once and never touched them again. I bought these two game packs 75 % sale so it was alright, there are lot of nice furnitures and decorations if you like gothic and fancy style. Strangerville i have twice played as crazy scientist but never touched military career. i do like the alien theme and that you can make a rocket to fly moon. Outdoor and jungle adventures i only use them as a vacation and archeology to mine crystals. Dineout is one that i use often since it give lot of dinner dates, family eating and you can actually run own restaurant which might take a while to get hang on but after you do can be fun to try. Parenthood well i never personally play much family households and usually have only one sim but you can help other sim parents with teens and play kind of nanny making clubs outings really enjoyable. Or if you really wish make your own villain club with evil sims that can make others live interesting. XD Generally Dineout and outdoor camping and strangerville are gamepacks that i would instal everytime personally. Vampires, realm of magic if i want to specifically focus on them. Parenthood...mm not so often. Jungle adventures i only use it as vacation place and get archeology skill. It really comes everyone personal taste like carl said :)

The Star Wars one is basically going to Disneyland, while you own the land Granite Falls is on. You can not change anything in that pack. Sold on Spa Day with that aquarium. Might get Magic Realm. (not the only one who would come up with that name)
