Another solution for T5 VW leaking windows. It may not just be the seal, cleaning drains or guide pins - this solves a problem with the drain channels themselves - check this out.

Came across this today and followed your advice…fingers crossed it works..thank you
Thanks very much. Just bought a kombi that has the same problem on both sides! Great video.
Hi thanks for video really helped me to resolve my bad window leak issue. I realised my drain hole was leaking as you showed, but because I was unfamiliar with the design I may have actually caused this myself by poking something down the hole and breaking the seal. However the actual original issue that I was to find was the seal on the window itself leaking badly.so I popped the window out cleaned and then applied Thetford seal lubricant spray to the seal. This cured my particular issue immediately . 👍
This is so helpful
Got the same problem, thanks for the help am going to sort mine now🤟
Good job.
I have a similar issue but my window just won’t sit in the correct close / locked position. It keeps springing inwards ! So frustrating and I need to fix it ASAP
Mine's not leaking yet but some excellent info here if it does. Thanks.
This whole isue just got a lot worse - a T6 Kombi had it's slider window fall out due to corrosion behind the slider bottom rail caused by the known leak problem . The rusting [ which is hidden from view ] causes the botton slider rail to sag / drop and the slider window falls out . A very serious safety issue with catastrophic implications .
In my VW this little window does not leak but the bottom of the sliding door inside the cabin fills with water. Its like there is no way for the water to go out
Reality is the drain channels are inadequate apart from light rain perhaps. Though this has helped when we've had a heavy storm I'm still seeing some ingress - they are over loaded :( Probably the only real way to prevent this happening (everyone I've spoken to gets this issue sooner out later) is to remove the VW windows and replace with others that don't or cannot leak!
Had it in my t6 Vw replaced all windows under the warranty but it didn't help)) Next time they said all the drain channels need to be cleaned so they did. Since then it still leaking a bit . Vw ??why didn't you clean the channels in the first place but replaced my windows with no effect ? Yeah it was a dealership trick to get some work done and charge the VW for it I guess
I've tried everything apart from this! Thanks
Hope it helps - please do let us know the result.
@@howifixedit2698 Will do ta
@@GrizzTV69 Did it help?
Any Idea what happens when you snap a drain channel?? Asking for a friend
😂
Только немцы могли так усложнить такую простую конструкцию! Можно же было подсмотреть у других производителей!
