  • All I think I would add to your review, is that this is definitely targeted for premium performance at premium cost. I got this keyboard at a sale and it cost me around 180 dollars (insta-purchase) and it should be arriving this week. Hopefully I'll be able to catch the Logitech G903 lightning + Hero at some kind of offer as well this year.

    @ThomasCoastline@ThomasCoastline4 жыл бұрын
    • Yes, absolutely. There are dedicated Lightspeed and Bluetooth buttons right on the top of the keyboard, very easy to switch. By the way all three models of the G915 are currently $235 at Amazon (amzn.to/36qhImL), which is the lowest price this keyboard has hit. It's a premium model, and Logitech didn't discount it during Black Friday like it did most of its other products.

  • I love the look of this keyboard. I have been researching keyboards obsessively for days now. I am in the market for a wireless (not bluetooth) full size keyboard (may go tkl if I have too) with rgb (that isnt out of contol - prefer just backlit see-through keycaps) mechanical (preferably cherry mx but dont mind as long as they are quality) an adult looking keyboard (because I am am not a teenager - most these gaming devices are designed to appeal too) a good brand (prefer non mainstream, like leopold or durgod) and a keyboard that I can use on my lap (because I game, browse, type, etc on a recliner - I use my mouse on a arm rest or next to me on a pillow or something). If you use a keyboard on your lap a smaller TKL or a 60% etc would be very small. Need something that can rest comfortably on both legs. Also don't want to lose the functionalty of a fullsize. SO I have narrowed my options down to the logitech G613, Corsair K63, drevo blademaster pro, logitech G915. If none of these fit the bill I may just go for a cheap one like the full size velocifier or the motospeed one. First world problems. After this I will spend two weeks researching gaming mice lol. I have problems hehe but its a hobby. :)

    • I totally hear what you're saying. I don't know anything about the Drevo (amzn.to/36Qipa3), other than to say I wouldn't buy a wireless keyboard from a second-tier brand. It's actually pretty hard to get right, and the user reviews make that clear. Among the others, the G613 (amzn.to/36NxcCr) is cheap, but it also feels cheap. Totally plastic, no RGB, very thick. I've tested it and don't like it much, but again, it doesn't cost much, so it has a place in the market. The K63 (amzn.to/36H56sF) has that classic aluminum frame that Corsair is known for, but it's pretty thick due to the use of older Cherry MX switches. I like the modern low-profile switches a lot more. Also, it's only blue LED, and the wireless system is far inferior to Logitech's. And then you have the G915 (amzn.to/2K0QOsT), which I'm typing on right now. It's perfect, and it's priced accordingly. But it's everything you want, so maybe skip the mouse and just get the G915? ;)

      @TheTechBuyersGuru@TheTechBuyersGuru4 жыл бұрын
    • @@TheTechBuyersGuru Wow thanks. I think I will end up getting the G915. The best solution to all this would be a wireless add on to keyboards. A dongle and transmitter kit that you could fit onto non-wireless keyboards. I havn't researched that yet but common sense tells me whatever is out there must be inferior to a dedicated wireless solution otherwise there would be no market for wireless keyboars in the first place because everyone would just use that! Of all the dozens of upon dozens of keyboards I have looked into wireless and non-wireless, the Leopold at Computex kzhead.info/sun/o6t9qpqknYKlpps/bejne.html this year is my favourite and would by it over the G915 as its perfect in almost every way. The problem is, I don't think they ever released it. Have searched the web and can't find it anywhere. Hey man, I like your channel. I can see its still in its infancy but I have seen many channels I like start off and grow very quickly once it builds up momentum. I think yours will too. I have watched most if not all the video reviews (not unboxings) on the G915 and yours is the only one I have seen show that the wireless dongle can attach to a cable to place it in a beeter location for the wifi signal. This is the first time I have seen this feature on a wireless device and think its amazing. edit:the leopold are bluetooth so thats a no no ... looks like itd the G915 for me, just need to find the best price. Thanks dude.

  • This is exactly my first impressions. Touching or using the keyboard for the first time is hard especially when you came from a corsair keyboard which has a different bottom row layout or lets say (doesn't have standard bottom row layout). I am using a wired version G813 in my country (G813 and G815 are the same). For a week of use I got used to it and I love it because it's thin I hate G-Hub, corsair's iCue software is better in my reference. Also lots of people are complaining on G-Hub About the software: (I have been and only used Corsair peripherals from the past. This is me as a Corsair user :) ) I have been creating custom lighting effects for my Keyboard using Corsair's iCue and it was a great experience. In G-Hub however, it is hard and when you get used to logitech's G-Hub it is kind of limited, RGB profile's animation are choppy too, the learning curve is long compared to Corsair's. If I could pick a good keyboard I want G915 (clean font) with corsair's kind of software haha

    @johnsci911@johnsci9114 жыл бұрын
    • Agreed on software. ICUE was designed from the ground up for robust RGB control. While GHub is sleek, it's not quite as powerful, and I also find it pretty buggy, as it often fails to load. If you want the fanciest RGB lighting, definitely go Corsair, but the G915 is a superior piece of hardware and is priced accordingly.

  • Logitech's Lightspeed technology is amazingly impressive. I've got the G935 Headset and the G502 mouse and their both amazing. Gonna be getting the G915 this week hopefully. If you like wireless gaming Logitech is definitely the way to go.

  • I have the tactile version and actually love this keyboard. The top is a little slippery compared to my previous g513. But all in all for a keyboard I can use for my pc and iPad and got it for around $200 with Best Buy rewards you honestly can’t go wrong. But also it’s a personal preference and it gives my desk a very clean look with my g903

    @Blaquegold@Blaquegold4 жыл бұрын
    • Henry, thanks for sharing your thoughts on the tactile version. I would have loved to try both that and the clicky version back to back. The tactile version may be the best all-around model for a combo of accuracy and quiet operation. And yes, it's a super-clean keyboard, for a grown-up audience that appreciates a professional appearance. Ironically, it's taken Logitech forever to release a gaming-grade keyboard that looks this good, given that Logitech of course is well known in the professional market.

      @TheTechBuyersGuru@TheTechBuyersGuru4 жыл бұрын
    • The Tech Buyer's Guru I totally agree it took them too long to release a keyboard for a grown up crowd who like to game but keep a clean look. The key caps are flat though but I hardly game like I used to so it’s cool. I definitely prefer the tactile because the sound is so subtle.

    • Thanks for the sub! Here's my answer: before I tested the G915, I had used a litany of K70 models, first MX Red, then MX Rapidfire, then MX Rapidfire LP. Since the day I installed the G915, I have not gone back to using any K70. I think that answers your question! By the way, the G915 has been sold out for over a month, and the clicky version (which I tested), just came back in stock on Amazon: amzn.to/2DI85al. If you want something quieter and don't need wireless, you could get the G815, which is in stock right now with linear switches: amzn.to/3iUdCut

    • @@TheTechBuyersGuru Hey thanks for your reply! @ivanfranco6541@ivanfranco65413 жыл бұрын
    • The Rapidfire is an MX Red-like switch, which is linear, so the G815/915 linear switch is probably most similar. The Logitech clicky switches are probably supposed to emulate MX Blue, but are far quieter and faster, with a lot less effort required to engage them. That's why I like it so much - lots of feel, a bit of noise, great typing experience, very good gaming experience (held back slightly by the keycaps).

      @TheTechBuyersGuru@TheTechBuyersGuru3 жыл бұрын
    • @@TheTechBuyersGuru Thanks for your reply and for taking the time to answer to all your subs, this is amazing! Talking about the keyboard, I would probably buy the Linear switches because I really like the "smoothness" and the "easiness" of typing in the K70, (The clicky sounds amazing but I don't want something with feedback or bump) I also have a Code Keyboard with Cherry MX Clear Switches but I don't like the force I need to click in this, too much force needed, I prefer the K70. By far, the greatest feel. A lot of years ago I had a Logitech G910 Orion Spectrum, and I liked the feel of the Romer-G switches, but in a couple months start failing, Logitech didn't cover the warranty, so I thought I never buy a Logi KB again, but here I am Lol

    @maik9022@maik90224 жыл бұрын
    • Yes, if you actually try to make this happen, you'll find that it actuates about 1/10 of a millimeter before the click. I'm not sure why that's a concern. If you're actually typing on it, this issue isn't an issue at all. It's not like you stop pressing it at the very 1/10 of a millimeter of travel when it actuates.

      @TheTechBuyersGuru@TheTechBuyersGuru4 жыл бұрын
    • @@TheTechBuyersGuru Thank you for your very fast reply! Well, it is not so much a concern or that I actively tried to accomplish this. I noticed this immediately upon normal typing. I used several keyboards with Cherry MX Blue switches in the past, which don't exhibit this property at all and only register a stroke after the click. The last being a Ducky Shine board. I am kinda sensitive too these kind of things and just wondered if this was normal as I don't have another reference point than MX blue for clicky switches.

You're getting a ton of additional tech for $30 (two wireless systems - Lightspeed plus Bluetooth - along with a battery). The G815 is far too expensive. Even if you plug in the G915 most of the time, the convenience of pulling the plug to move the keyboard around your desk or to another PC temporarily is worth that extra cost.

I bought this primarily for its wireless + mechanical key features but no denying it's a pretty sleek looking piece of tech to grace your desk. I have to tell myself to be gentle with it especially knowing how flat the keycaps are and the fact that all the key caps are only sitting on 2 piece of thin plastic.

And yeah, the 915 Clicky (amzn.to/2VnWLGT) is awesome - typing on it right now, haven't changed it out ever since publishing this review! But what mouse are you going to be using? I'm loving the G502 Lightspeed (amzn.to/2Td6Eog), but Razer has some nice new stuff too, like the Viper Ultimate (amzn.to/2Vw2Npf). They finally worked out good wireless.

  • most modern games are terrible at using the keyboard flexibility as they are made thinking about consoles and limited controls, if you want to try a game that uses all your keyboard properly i would suggest something more like Elite Dangerous, mechwarrior 3, or some RTS or simulation game, where you use all your keyboard range of presses and then even the macro keys become important. an MMO like black desert where due to their combo system you use a much wider range of keys than just WASD, or Ragnarok online 1 in /Battlemode.

Now any spelling mistakes you see in this comment? That is from the keyboard pressing letters twice, I really don't understand it. Logitech gg910

  • This would have been the perfect keyboard, if Logitech used USB-C instead of that ancient Micro-USB

    @RoamPanda08@RoamPanda084 жыл бұрын
    • I don't think it matters too much, but yes, it would have been better with Type-C. Corsair is now moving to Type-C for all its gaming peripherals, Logitech will hopefully do the same for its next-gen peripherals, although as far as I know, none are coming soon. They exhibited nothing at CES 2020.

  • A nice overall review but the mic quality especially at the part where you compare the kbrd sounds is sub par to be honest and ruining the whole purpose..

    • Been upgrading the mic quality over time. I have a better setup now than I did when I shot this video, but honestly, it's not as easy as you might think. Mics that are great for voice aren't good for something like keyboard sounds which are less direct.

    • @@TheTechBuyersGuru I'm aware of that but it's actually ruining the whole experience if you wanna do a serious review. I'd either use it properly or ommit the sound test completely rather than give a poor end result. Just my 2 cents..

  • i regret buying it...all the second symbols on numerical keys are NOT illuminated ! At night i cant see anything and my typing is so difficult ...G810 was way better than this.

    @toxotis70@toxotis704 жыл бұрын
    • This is a good point - only the main symbols are illuminated. But this probably comes down to style - if these were always illuminated, it would make the keyboard look pretty messy, and most people aren't actually buying RGB keyboards for functional nightime backlighting. As you mentioned, the Logitech G810 (amzn.to/2QlOTTw) does have that full backlighting, and it doesn't look quite as sleek. What would be very cool is if they illuminated when the shift key is pressed, but that's not possible with today's technology - there's just a single light in each switch.

    • I use the keyboard solely for typing/writing - & love the G keys. I have them programmed for Copy/Cut/Paste & then G5 is Save. When it's your only keyboard, you get used to where all the keys, like CTRL, actually are. The G keys are brilliant.

  • pelase review it more honest. wha not mention the subpar volume control and the joke of special keys (mute, mediacontrol, connect,...) those are really realyl bad rubbery keys of the worst kind. at 250bucks a nono. but the real issue are the keycaps. prone to break, defently not the sort to simply remove to clean something, youll break em at reinserting. now the only plus side is, its the only low profile wireless and a rare wireless emchanical full size keyboard. and the only one with (almsot useless) volume control.

    @woswasdenni1914@woswasdenni19144 жыл бұрын
    • All the things you're listing are entirely subjective. I see absolutely nothing wrong with the volume control, in fact I think it's awesome. The rubber-coated media controls are nice, no need for mechanical switches on them. And I I don't see how anyone could say these keycaps are going to break unless they actually broke during the review, which mine certainly didn't. So, you can share all the rumors you've heard, but I based my review on my objective testing of the product. That's what an honest review is all about.

    • @@TheTechBuyersGuru yeah I find it very odd that other reviewer broke a keycap, I mean, if it doesn't connect dont force it right? Plastic is plastic and just because these keycaps looks delicate doesn't mean they are, they are just designed different but the actual connections dont look that different from others. I wonder if because he broke the keycap whether logitech let him keep the keyboard. I wonder......

    • i love the volume control. the ability to quickly mute and adjust the volume of sound on the fly is amazing. its low profile, wireless, mechanical, awesome battery life that can be left uncharged for ages (big selling point for me), rgb, decent keyboard experience, good audio slider. is it worth the money? i dont think so. but i cant see another keyboard which ticks all those boxes.

      @aaronao1@aaronao14 жыл бұрын
  • Do not buy this $hit! You can not swap the keys nor can you buy new ones anywhere. If one of your keys breaks you have to buy a new keyboard after your warranty is over. And, your keys will break, for sure!
