Love your vids. My Dad was a trucker too. Now my baby brother drives the trucks and he just loves it. My son also drove the trucks. So I am from a long line of the trucker family. Watching one of your vids now. I used to drive them little access buses for the handicapped. A few passes that I hve driven down and one of them in Oregon on Sountbound 84 over Deadmans pass, in the winter, icy roads, I swear some peeps sure don't know how to navigate in the snow. This one looks like it is white knuckle time. You are a very safe trucker too. After treks like that I am sure you are done wore out. These peeps that pass you are freaking nuts! Stay safe out there. 🚛

In 2011 we had just left a Marching Band competition in Pocatello and had 4 buses filled with band members. We were heading to American Fork, UT and near the town of Inkom one of the driver's on one of those buses passed out causing the bus to overturn. One of the directors of the band was killed in the incident. My wife, and I, of many others went to the site, helped get the kids so taken care of and then went to the hospital which is in Pocatello. On Idaho’s transportation website they have access to all the road cameras. Their app is way easy to use. The photo gets updated every 15 min and actually really high quality also saying the temperature and wind speed. There is a camera on top of Malad pass that you would have been able to check out when you were debating on driving back through. Oh well, now you know for next time.

Good morning Mike and everyone. It's cold up here in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It always amazes me how you drive through a few different weather conditions. Had a road trip to Florida for Christmas. It was something to experience driving from near blizzard conditions. Traveling south. It appeared worse driving through Buffalo, almost regretting the road trip. But it was awesome passing through Pennsylvania even better through West Virginia. Passed Georgia, loved that place. Florida was great. Lots of great Mexican food. Getting back to you. I was thinking it would be awesome for you to share your driving experiences and tips like you do, but to answer some questions about different places and giving feed back. Maybe some locations for great Mexican restaurants or places to eat. Places or roads to avoid. Best fishing locations, how you can tell which vehicles to avoid. If you can tell if a vehicle is being driven by an experienced driver or not. Places to avoid for road trips. And by the way. I'm the driver that if I see a semi trying to get over a lane or more, I will flash my lights to give right of way. I'll do the for 3 lanes if necessary. I once rode in a semi from Toronto Ontario to Halifax Nova Scotia and back. I even had a chance to drive. Needed help with the gears the rigg had 2 gear shifts. I could work one gear stick but not both. I loved driving. But wouldn't risk anyones safety. Best hour of my life. Keep safe and God Bless.

The wonky wipers is due to the controller built into the wiper motor. It's lost the "park" position which causes those hiccups. It'll work fine in low and high because those are constant speed, no park and pause needed. Eventually the intermittent setting will completely crap out and you'll only have low and high.

I sure look forward to your videos, I love riding with you. Get to see so much.
I feel the same way!
"Good mornin... good mornin'... Always glad to hear that intro. You continue to do a great job with your videos. Don't listen to the critics. We are your 'guests'. So glad to ride along with you. Hello from SW Iowa. '
Well that was a mixed bag of weather and driving conditions...those clouds blowing over the mountains were amazing ...thanks for the upload
Pocatello has the most erratic and sporadic weather ever I swear😂 The thing I heard the most growing up from everyone was, "if you don't like the weather, wait 5 minutes"😂
Loving this as always from Scotland!
Good morning to you from Honolulu, Hawaii to Pocatello, Idaho.
Oh, how I love Hawaii, I have been to all 4 major Hawaiian Islands and it's always so sad to leave!
I do enjoy watching your videos. You have a pleasant, soothing voice and interesting commentary.
I agree, your voice is so nice and soothing to listen too, thanks Shotgun Mike!!
Beautiful mountains, once I got experience driving, I enjoyed driving in the mountains.
A week ago you were in Alabama. Man you get around... Love the snow rides...
That´s a awesome video that you showed us today. Greatfull and thankyou very much!
I’m sure you enjoyed. Saw lots of different country. I do love road trips...just don’t have enough (especially with Covid upon us. Too bad you missed Texas...maybe another time. And it’s a long way down Florida😁
@@Sunny-kn6th would love to see Texas. One day. Along with a few other places.
Do you really expect MMM to divulge his best fishing spots? ;)
@@larrybe2900 hey, a girl can hope. Right. It would be awesome to catch something memorable. Even though I'll release. Unless ofcourse if they are really tasty. Besides, I'd never tell. Ever.
@@larrybe2900 hell yes. Guy's are supposed to be kind and helpful to ladies.
I like watching Your videos late at night sometime before I go to sleep 🌙 thank you for your videos 📼
Hello mountain Mike I'm roxanne I watch you all the time I like ur road trips ur a good driver and thank you for ur time and the deliverys u did for all of us
Awesome Roxan.. thank you for watching..
Thank you for sharing this wonderful scenery video!!!!!
I can't even count how many times I've driven this route. I have lived in SLC, Pocatello, and a few in between. Born and raised in these parts. 😊
I love watching traveling videos in the morning when I am waking up and relaxing. So glad people upload stuff like this.
Waw que bonito video gracias DIOS LE BENDIGA Y LE GUARDE Y A SU FAMILIA TAMBIÉN Y A TODOS LOS TRAILEROS SALUDOS Y BENDICIONES DESDE MOJAVE CALIFORNIA 🙏😉🤝
Over here in Connecticut, we're getting hit back to back with these snowstorms. I'm tired of shoveling!
im here in CT also....im over winter already lol...

@@hollywoodsaint57 No!
Then take a break from doing it lol
You are amazing. Thanks for sharing♥️🇨🇦
One of your best Mike, but the first time I have heard you worrying. Made me quite tense but so glad to see you were safely through. 👍
Thanks again for sharing this video with us.
It's a pleasure to ride ... I like it very much... Merry Christmas 2021 and happy and blessed New Year 2022 from Rolling Prairie IN
Those are the wonkiest wipers I've ever seen.
It’s a Volvo which should’ve stayed overseas
Right???. Lol
@@mikemerrill175 That's not old! I remember vacuum wipers and I'm only 71. Lol It was always trying to decide whether to let off the gas so the wipers would work especially in heavy rain or keeping your speed up.
My neck of the woods.👍🥔
You gotta have a lot of patience being a truck driver. So many bad drivers on the road. See it all the time and I just drive a small SUV. Love it out West. So gorgeous!
Thanks mmm nice ride along peace!!!
Morning Mike, We had some Hurricane Force Winds yesterday in New Jersey. I was happy I was inside with Temps in the Low 30's, and it eventually dropped to 15 Balmy Degrees.
Hey Mike, my husband was born and raised in this area so...Pocatello is pronounced Poecatello and Tremonton is pronounced Treemonton...
As a native. Yep
Both formats are AWESOME, mountain man 💪🙏🏼🇺🇸 Thank you!
I really enjoy your travels. I use my motor carrier map book to follow where you are at. Enjoy the information about where you are at.
Good morning mike and every one. Cold here in ohio with flurries.be careful stay safe.
9F in canton this morning Brrrrr
I go to sleep watching your vids. Thanks!
Fun riding along with you through Idaho. I grew up in LaBarge, WY, between Kemmerer and Big Piney on Hwy 189. One of the coldest towns in the country! People always talked about running to Idaho Springs or Pocatello, but I never got there. It looks like Beautiful country!
Watching from New Zealand looks so very cold but I love snow so much x be safe in your travels
Loved the video! I lived in Idaho years ago.. Boise,, Been to Pocatello.. Beautiful there. Thanks for an awesome video,, Be safe!
I can’t believe there are people in the world that want to watch trucker videos like this for hours. I retired a few years ago after logging 1.75 million miles of accident free driving. I would never waste my valuable time making or watching these kinds of videos. Nothing personal, mind you.
1.7 or 2.7? why are you here? Imagine how this passes the time and gets millions and millions of views! Somebody watches this and some people are home bound and will never travel around other than vicariously. It’s wholesome and helps some people. While you wouldn’t make these, you are on this channel to at least comment.
Am a Pocatelloan. Yes, sometimes they close that road, Malad (Muhladd) Pass; Devils Creek. Its been a mild Winter so not sure if it closed this year. Pronounce Pocatello (Poke-uh-tello). Welcome to Pocatello. Great video. Its always windy here. Safe driving.
Love summer drives down the i-15 from montana to vegas
Good morning mmm! In 3 weeks I'm going to start off at prime for a year otr. Thx for all the great scenes and tips for driving through snow in the mountains. 👍
Its pronounced muh-lad. And poka-tello. Mala pass really isnt that bad but that half mile stretch right on top spins out so many vehicles. The crosswinds create black ice so everybody is cruising along just fine then bam, ice right on top. Cool video!
Love the scenery Thanks for the ride
Hello Mike from Wellington Utah, love riding shotgun with you. Stay safe.
Pocatello....o is long vowel. ☺️
Being a resident of Pocatello. I've made that journey many times. Retired now, and grateful I don't have to do it anymore.
"DON'T LIKE TO HAVE TRUCKS IN FRONT OF ME ... I CAN'T SEE!" NOW YOU KNOW HOW THE REST OF US FEEL!!!
The difference is that you can accelerate and get past us or slow down and back off. We can’t go any faster than the truck allows, and are on very strict schedules so slowing down usually is not an option either.
Why don't you shut up and go farm your own food. Don't count on us delivering to your local grocery store to make it easy for you, CRY BABY
So glad you made the trip safely. I could hear the wind whistling at times. So glad you didn't have any crazy drivers while driving through that storm, they also cause lots of accidents. I hope you found the toy candy dispenser for your grandkids. Stay safe and thank you for the videos.
Another cracking video, always look forward to your next....
I like your narrative driving- amazed that you didn’t have more issues with Utah drivers but, I digress... Idaho roads are typically “crowned” to assist in moving water off. You saw our mountain range beauty and witnessed our constant wind- it’s a great area Poe ka tello/Chub buck.
Beautiful scenery. Makes me respect you guys more.
Scenery is breathtaking.
From UK,love your snow videos, though not get much snow where I live South West,Devon, I love driving in snow, used to have Ford KA,only small car but fun in snow, loved holding on limit at 60mph, just on verge of sliding, one time i had to drive 30 mins to work and did in normal journey time, people down the road from work couldn’t make it in, I think I’d love driving in your snow, I’d do it like a boss.
be safe Mike, wet snow sucks for driving big time.
Used to live in northern part of Utah. Thank you for sharing. From Sweden 🇸🇪
Snow on the highway is Mt Mike's ... "candy for a baby" lmao
I like your videos safe travels to you.
so wonderful drive
Love videos be careful out there
Not often but I have driven a lot of the roads in your videos. Its good to see them again with your commentary from your perspective' i hope you find a house in an area you love
Another nice video Mike, interesting too..stay safe and alert out there =)
Good Morning MMM It's snowing...yippee
I've seen some pretty bad wrecks going through that stretch during snow or early morning frost.
Hey Mike....Happy to catch you again. PEACE!
Boy that sure brings back memories for me
Great ride
love watching this on 🍄 very therapeutic
I am glad that I stumbled onto this channel. Boring Bob is here.
Hey whats up? So i wanted to comment on ur comment about flashing the high beams thats how i was taught years ago to let the other person kno it was clear for them to proceed. Sorry if thats wrong and im sure that all has changed over the years. Have a great day
Only flash to warn other drivers of cops or tell others to turn off the brights when a truck clears you just turn your lights off and on
@@carlgruver695 hey thanks for the info
I do believe it is Po Catello having driven through there a number of times.
I grew up their it's Poke a tello, Idaho. class of 66. We have been Spuds sence the 1850s. And yes I can tell u why Idaho Souds are the best. Spud farmers and UP railroad
Made that drive coming the other way a number of years ago in a blizzard. Took me 9 hours to get from Rexburg to Provo. Worst drive of my life.
Hello from La Pine Oregon. We are about two miles east of US 97
I like what you said at yellowstone ave. Good video.
You're so sweet to help your daughter. I'm always helping my kids......not with big bucks but when they need a little help the come to mom🤪. Hosing here in San Antonio can be pricey but there are some with good pricing. Watching half the video before I nap and the rest tonight.
Watchin a truck drive in the snow, while driving a truck in the snow...I need help

Hi Mike! What a beautiful pass! But wait!!! You didn’t tell us when you went to Walmart if you were able to find a couple more of the $5 toys ? I’m hoping you did since they all loved the one. Have a great day!!
What are you doing Mike when you pump the brakes? Is that what you are doing? Checking your grip? Or is it the hand trailer brake? We would love to know. Thank you
Sat here in god awful -6oC in the UK with loads of woollens on.. watchin you drive in the snow.. bonkers!! x please can you do more of vail pass please i love the rockies its such a beautiful part of the world xx
Good morning shot gun we have snow here in Manchester uk so your not alone stay safe
Great video. I love our Interstate system. @29:00 that looks like freeway pilup weather.
The wonky wipers is due to the controller built into the wiper motor. It's lost the "park" position which causes those hiccups. It'll work fine in low and high because those are constant speed, no park and pause needed. Eventually the intermittent setting will completely crap out and you'll only have low and high.
Good morning, the last time i went through Pocatello was on the way to the World's Fair in Spokane, when, what 1974? Alot has happened since then. Windy in Western Colorado the last couple of days. Not used to the wind here. Can't believe the amount of carnage on the roads in the last couple of weeks due to snow, ice, speed, wind, uh what else. Oh yeah not leaving enough space to stop. OH WELL, just showing us how you change speed to work with the conditions shows the professionalism. Thanks for this one. BE safe, SEE YA.
