#winterstorm compilation of #blizzards from across the #usa over the past 7 years. A #blizzard is a #snowstorm with sustained #wind of at least 35mph, less than 1/4 mile in visibility and lasting at least 3 hours. #snow does not have to be falling. There are ground blizzards in which blowing snow can meet the #weather requirements.
The video is comprised of blizzards in the following states. #california #newyork #colorado #massachusetts #ohio #nebraska #wyoming #minnesota #iowa #newjersey #pennsylvania and several other states.

I live in Canada and I've lived through a few of these. Best advice: Crank up the thermostat, get a good bottle of whiskey, and settle in for the day. If you have to go out grab a couple of bags of Kitty Litter, its better than sand or salt for getting traction.

Dec. 12, 2022---SO GLAD I retired as a truck driver 7 years ago. Lots of "fun" having to max chain getting over Donner or waiting a day or 2 on the west side until the highway was re-opened. But it wasn't all bad as brother sent me a single burner Coleman propane stove and it was really nice to heat up some soup or make tea/coffee while waiting.
Chained up ONE TIME to go over Donner. Never again. Waited many times on either side, for them to clear the roads. Have one for me driver! "Eagle Claw" on the side!

The more the landscapes and natural scenery in movement and mother nature just showing herself, pounding or still, the better. Mother Nature sure knows how to explain herself with no words or thoughts.

I’ve been there a few times when it snowed like that. I remember we had to have 4WD to drive to Newfound Gap. I also love the snow covered rocks in w”babbling brooks”. Great video.

Great video. I understand why some folks have to be out in this snow. People have jobs like Police, Fire, Medical Personal, truck drivers who have to make deliveries into the affected area, People who live & work in the area & are still responsible for finding a way to work. The folks that puzzle me are those we find standing around in this mess in nothing more than a t-shirt, a pair of shorts, & flip flops.
Most businesses aren't going to be open when the roads are impassable, pretty sure everyone needs to just stay home and quit being idiots. Keep the roads clear so the work vehicles can do their jobs.

No kidding, for about $100 or so a set of chains would make all the difference.

No we only know 3-speed torque converter and V8 since the sixties, the drivers license is like 100usd...just drive around the next Walmart. Want a fully auto machine gun no problem? You have no passport, know shiat about other culture's? No problem here you go M16 full auto..

Dude, if they stay home, you would not have supply, food, or power to use and eat for the day. Those are studious and handy people.
We everybody needs a winter tires.
People too cheap to buy winter tires.
This is the reason why you people need proper winter tires, not summer or all season but proper winter tires made for north conditions. Studded or not at your choice and what laws tell about these, but proper north winter tires is the right choice.

Some of these could be avoided with the right tire or chains. But some of these, even that won’t be enough. If you’re trying to drive through snow that’s two feet deep, or more, you’re not going to make it. Only large off road type equipment is going to make it through very deep snow. Just stay home, or at the truck stop, and wait for the roads to be cleared to a degree.

I’ve experienced a few storms like these, not as bad as some but some I either should not have been out in or it was just my luck to be able to experience them! Funniest one are the ones in states where they are not used to having iced roads or snow storms! Just us common sense!
